After my car unexpectedly died over the weekend, I realized I was way overdue for a new battery, and initially thought to go to auto zone, but a friend said they'd overcharge me. So I went to this O'Reilly's because it was the closest to where I was that day. Dennis helped me find the battery I needed, gave me a discount through my company, and offered to install the battery. But it doesn't stop there. Upon taking my battery out he realized the issue was much more severe than I previously thought. My negative terminal had partially separated from the coils because it was so old (7+ years) and had been leaking a significant amount of battery acid...two inches of it to be exact was just sitting in the battery compartment. He could have sent me away, but he and Matt grabbed soda powder from the back and poured it all in the compartment to soak up the acid and then vacuumed it out. It took a significant amount of time that they didn't have to give me, but I was so incredibly grateful not just for Dennis's cleaning and installation of it but also taking the time to explain what was going on and what I should do in the future. They both were kind and did not talk down to me, as is common in the car-world to women, and this I almost appreciated more than anything. Matt even recommended a good mechanic to me who could take a good look at anything else that could have been affected. After Dennis was done soaking up and vacuuming up the acid, he installed the battery and sealed it with some grease, etc. I could not have had a better experience and will be driving out of my way (30+ minutes) from now on to visit this specific location next time I need something. These guys rock.

At that point, he recommended a new fuel pump, which they ordered that day. They installed the new fuel Pump and also found one of the spark plug wires was bad and grounding out as well. They replaced ALL of my plug wires as a courtesy! They told me everything was fine and even put gas in the car before I picked it up. Instead of taking it back to Dave's, I took my car straight to the Honda dealership, where they first found green sludge in the fuel pump and cleaned it out. Thought that would solve the issue. Nope, the check engine light came back on. Another trip to Honda, Honda did more testing and determined the fuel Dave's Auto put in my car was contaminated with diesel. This has caused weeks of frustration, multiple trips to the dealership, and extra expense. I would not recommend bringing your vehicle here. I've never had issues with my car before this experience.

It would not hold a charge and I had 3 mechanics tell me the battery was toast (and leaking) and that I needed a new one. I figured the warranty would still be an option so I brought it back to them only for them to say it just needed a 24 hour charge. They also told us that alternators don't charge the battery, which was one of the most stupid things I think I have ever heard. Honestly, I don't think you should be working at a battery shop if you don't know what the alternator does. Ultimately, I ended up having to buy a new battery from Costco because my car needed to be moved and they would not honor my warranty to give me a new one. I am now down $160 because of my new battery, have my toasted battery that supposedly charged "just fine" and "isn't leaking at all!" and shit out of luck. Again, I would not recommend getting a battery from a place that doesn't even know what an alternator does for your battery/car.

The technicians ran a charging test as well as three load tests on the battery and determined that it did not need to be replaced. They also tested fluids in every cel and cleaned and reset the terminals. Since time and breakdowns are a concern of mine, I was very willing to purchase a new battery. HOWEVER, I deferred to the professionals who, after fully testing it stated that the battery was fully functional. I have purchased several batteries as well as a battery tender from Battery X-Change. They provide excellent service, advice and are very competitive on pricing. I will tell anyone that listens to support Battery X-Change!

After looking at a couple different shops based on reviews, we went with Advanced Automotive to do…read morea pre-purchase inspection of a vehicle we were interested in buying (2017 Suburban Premier). After a few hours they called and went over the couple issues they had found and should be replaced which they were very nice and helpful. They found that one control arm had some play in it and should be replaced, the brake vacuum was bad, and one of the window switches auto up didn't work. After taking this to the dealer they fixed the issue and all was well. After driving 100 miles back home we noticed the car didn't handle any bumps or turns very well. We took it to a local mechanic where they found the following wrong with it- Self leveling shock system (air bags and shocks) torn and blown out- $1500 Compressor for shocks burnt out and hasn't been operational for a long time- $1000 Upper passenger control arm causing stability issues and creaking (needs replaced and alignment)- $950 We paid $199 to have them check the important components of a car before buying. Now we are stuck with a bill totaling over $3000 on a vehicle with less than 150 miles from us driving it. Do not take your car here for pre-purchase inspections. These are all common failure points for this vehicle with this many miles as confirmed with multiple other trusted local mechanics in our area. The least they could do is refund this inspection fee to help cover the cost of repairs of a car we wouldn't have bought in the first place if due diligence was done as we trusted it would be.
