Dont ever let this dealer touch your vehicle! They missed the sticker inside the glove box saying this had a reusable cabin air filter. They replaced it with a disposable air filter. Waiting to hear from them on their response. On a previous visit, they forgot to put the oil cap back on the vehicle engine, causing oil to spray everywhere. They apologized and washed my engine bay after getting a new oil cap. read more

I have not purchased a car at Doherty Ford; however, I have purchased parts and have had my F350 and my Bronco serviced and repaired at this dealership. Top-notch people are working at a top-notch service department. Casey and Jeff are two of the friendliest, most capable, and most responsible service people I have met. They ran into a few issues when doing a performance flash on my Bronco. They asked if I could bring it back after they had some time to research the problem, and I agreed. I went on a business trip and forgot all about it when I got back. They called me and asked me when I could bring it in. Regardless, they figured it out and got it done. I do not know what has happened at Doherty Ford but even something as simple as trying to schedule basic routine service is frustrating. The website scheduler does not work and nobody will take a service scheduling call. The last few times I have tried to schedule with them I ended up going to dealerships in Hillsboro. My preference is to support local businesses but not if I cannot get support from them. I have purchased vehicles from Doherty and had service done there in the past and was very pleased, but there seems to have been a big change. read more

We purchased a truck there recently. It was older but seemed well cared for and had "gone through" their inspection. Less than 50 miles and the low coolant light came on. Ok, we added water. Couple days later, same thing. It never got hot. Just a little low and a check engine light came in with a sensor code. We had purchased extended warranty from our credit union so we took it in. It had a blown gasket!! We paid over what we should have because of the supply issue and they gave us a truck with a blown head! Of course the insurance didn't want to pay since we'd only had it a month. So there's another $7000 before we put 1000 mi on it. Sales manager said too bad. As-is. I've wanted a Ford Mustang since I was seven or eight years old. After getting more and more serious about purchasing one over the last few years, I finally went in to test drive one to see if I even liked it. Aaron was beyond helpful during the test drive and he answered all of my questions regarding the car and its features. After the test drive, Aaron and I discussed the car and its various features that are available. Being a very practical person, I was secretly hoping that I wouldn't like the Mustang. Well, I liked it a lot. I fully intended on leaving the dealership after the test drive, but talking with Aaron was easy and stress free. Aaron never pressured me or tried to rush me into making any decisions. He was patient and made sure to answer all of my questions. I also appreciated his transparency and directness. Ultimately, I ended up purchasing a Mustang. Aaron assisted with finding the right car and color for me at another dealership and the price negotiation was mostly painless. After the decision to buy was made, Dave helped with all of the paperwork and he was a 10! Dave, like Aaron, was professional, patient, and made sure to answer all of my questions and explain the paperwork. A friend of mine has always spoken highly of Doherty Ford. Additionally, I visited and spoke with the owner on a separate occasion as part of my job and he was professional and friendly. Talked to someone on the phone about picking my vehicle up. They said as long as I was there before 7 I would be able to pick it up. Had my friends give me a ride out to pick up my car and let them know I was on my way and would be there at 6:55. Showed up at 6:55 and Brian finally came to the locked front door and waved his hands at me and wouldn't open it. Super confused why I was told before 7 I could pick it up. Such an inconvenience to drive out an hour to get here to get turned away at the door and not even the decency to be spoken to. Had an oil change completed and after the appointment I drove 4 hours to a family home. Once there, we noticed oil on the side of the truck and when investigating further, it was discovered they did not replace or did not tighten the oil fill cap causing oil to be everywhere. I contacted the dealer and they would order a new one but it was difficult to get due to the size of it and took a few days. They did clean the engine bay and also provided a refund for the oil change once I was in the area. Although I did have to order a cap from another Ford dealer. The one star is for the dealership overall in general. But the reason for the review is the service department. I come in and I'm told it's a 2 hrs wait for an oil change, but if I come back after 1:30 when everyone is back from lunch it should only be 30 min or so, I come back and I'm told once again it's a 2 hr wait. I would have stayed if I'd known but instead I gave them the reasonable doubt and they proved me wrong once again. (Not to mention I asked if they wanted my info now or later, which they said "we'll get it when you come back") Now I remember why I get my maintenance done at a different dealership. Not to mention they don't do advantage care or Ford points like a regular Ford dealer. Not sure why I can't redeem something I paid for at a FORD DEALER! My company bought a Ford Escape and I picked it up at another dealership a couple hours away. When I got my plates I realized they did not put license plate holders on. So I called Doherty to schedule getting them put on. To my surprise they said I would have to pay for them, or go back to original dealership. So instead of a hometown quick in and out, I will have to waste an entire afternoon for license plate holders. I bought my last truck from Doherty, and sometime next year I will be looking for a new truck. I was planning on using Doherty, no longer. So much for Ford Quality. Seems funny to me to lose free advertising AND the sale of an F-250. Oh well. I will see how Chevy or Dodge trucks run. Disappointing. Forgot I needed to update this, sorry Doherty. Stopped in here about two months ago before my trip back to California for the summer and needed an oil change .. they had a really good coupon called the works that not only included my oil change that I needed but also other services just checking on brakes and what not. It was a good price too! only down side is you should have someone there to ride back home with otherwise you have to wait super long even if you have an appointment. Doherty Ford is the only place I will go to get my car serviced. I have (unfortunately) tried other Ford dealerships in the area and came back to Doherty with my tail between my legs. The guys in the service department are really nice and know what they are doing. I also like the little things they do - they clean the inside of my windshield, they vacuum the floor by the driver's and passenger's seats and they reset the oil change reminder on my car. The attention to these little things makes a huge difference in my opinion. I have also used their body shop to repair my rear bumper after I was rear-ended and they were also helpful, competent and got the work done quickly. Went in last week for a scheduled appointment and ended up taking our car to another dealership in McMinnville. My husband made the appointment and when I dropped the car off I was told there would be a $160 diagnostic fee (they did not mention this to my husband). The first person I encountered was not wearing a mask. She was on the quick service side and opened the door to the service side and stood in the doorway waiting for me to pass her. I asked her to allow me to go through the door without her standing there we would have been entirely too close. Then a mechanic came out to talk to me without a mask. The third person had a mask (also told me about the fee) and I told him I did not want anyone in our car without a mask. When my husband came to pick me up he went in and got the car key back and we called Chuck Colvin Ford in McMinnville, who told us there was no diagnostic fee. This was our second poor experience with Doherty Ford. Not likely to ever return. read more

The service department at Doherty Ford is second to none. They have done some things for me without charge and when I get my car serviced they are polite and fast. I purchased my car in 2008 and haven't taken it to any other place for service or repair. The car has been kept up so well that I haven't had to take it in for anything but oil changes. If I could divide them and critique them separately, I would but both the Ford service department, Express Lube service and the Body shop are all part of the same location. Lube service - the Express lube service is great! no appointment is necessary but it helps to ensure your wait time is low. they let you watch the techs as your car is working through a glass window while you drink a free coffee or hot chocolate. the people ether are very friendly and polite, although I only been there twice, they consistently meet my expectations. Service Department - technically I was there for an Oil change and somehow the service department took the work. no as warm or friendly as the express area, but they did a great job and quickly got me in and out. I didn't get to watch my vehicle get worked on, but they did vacuum my carpets. Body Shop - this is where the location gets a big hit. they try to act friendly, but it feels forced and fake. gal at front desk doesn't seem to know what she is doing. I needed to replace my windshield due to winder cracks. gravel chips, cold and heat... pop and crack. over the phone they said they needed to see the vehicle in person to do and estimate. really? are Fords so unstandardized that even a dealership can't get a part from a known make/model/year? I'll give you a hint, you have them on the parking lot! so I take time out of my day to stop in. it took longer than the 15 mins it was suppose to take, and they wanted pictures. its a cracked windshield, what is the big deal? they kept asking me if the insurance was gong to pay for it. I kept telling them if its over my $500 deductible I was going someplace else. they ordered the part and cornered me into accepting their quote. I wanted to wait for Safelite but they are 3 weeks out... so I said yes. I dropped off my vehicle for all day the next day. when its time to pick it up, they call me and said they can't do the job because the part that seals around the windshield didn't come. so they waited until 2PM to tell me they would have to wait a week. not only am I Inconvenienced for 1 day, but now 2 and I still have no proof of their performance. so far, its not good. All I get it constant "its not our fault" and "we are sorry." in no way did they offer to make this up to me, give me something for my inconvenience. nothing but a wasted day. to make matters worse, she kept repeating "its not our fault." I honestly don't care, I know its not my fault but I'm the customer and I'm the one inconvenienced. let me spell out how it is your fault. - did you call to confirm all parts were in the box and shipped to you? no. - did you double check part description to ensure all parts were included? no, its standard to get them all in the kit... look like it isn't standard. You said you called everywhere looking for the missing part and nobody had it. but it took you less than 5 minutes to find a windshield. so all those parts laying around Portland does not have the needed part in its kit that supposedly comes with every windshield? think that through a minute. now, admit its your fault. If it wasn't for the Express and service department having such great experiences, I would rate it a 0 for incompetence. So if your getting a simple oil change, this is the place to go. If your getting body work done, look someplace else or expect incompetent. read more
