I'm a 27 y/o female without close family in the area to inspect/give advice on my car troubles. I don't know everything about cars and have been faced with people trying to rip me off before. After my car unexpectedly died over the weekend, I realized I was way overdue for a new battery, and initially thought to go to auto zone, but a friend said they'd overcharge me. So I went to this O'Reilly's because it was the closest to where I was that day. Dennis helped me find the battery I needed, gave me a discount through my company, and offered to install the battery. But it doesn't stop there. Upon taking my battery out he realized the issue was much more severe than I previously thought. My negative terminal had partially separated from the coils because it was so old (7+ years) and had been leaking a significant amount of battery acid...two inches of it to be exact was just sitting in the battery compartment. He could have sent me away, but he and Matt grabbed soda powder from the back and poured it all in the compartment to soak up the acid and then vacuumed it out. It took a significant amount of time that they didn't have to give me, but I was so incredibly grateful not just for Dennis's cleaning and installation of it but also taking the time to explain what was going on and what I should do in the future. They both were kind and did not talk down to me, as is common in the car-world to women, and this I almost appreciated more than anything. Matt even recommended a good mechanic to me who could take a good look at anything else that could have been affected. After Dennis was done soaking up and vacuuming up the acid, he installed the battery and sealed it with some grease, etc. I could not have had a better experience and will be driving out of my way (30+ minutes) from now on to visit this specific location next time I need something. I am a 22 year old girl - i know nothing about my old fart car - all I know is I needed her to get me to work everyday. I know I have a bad oil leak and needed more break fluid, thanks to my dad walking me through those steps on how to figure out what my car needed. I went to auto zone - as it is the closest to my house and they just didn't want to help me, I brought in my used oil container and they sent me to O'reilly...where I was then met by Kent, he was gladly to help me and he did all the research to make sure I was getting the right oil, the right breaker fluid for my car. I came in for some bulbs for my tail light. It was raining and I didn't have the tools to replace it. I came back in a few times to see if I could buy some tools. I went to auto zone to get a car battery and have it replaced. I am an Uber driver as well as a disabled combat vet. During my second tour, I was shot and it makes it very difficult to work on my car with any confidence I won't do more harm. And since my car is my lively hood, I needed help. The manager there told me the battery had too many electronic components and wouldn't help me. Next day, I went to O Reilly's, they helped, installed and completed everything with issues. It took less than 15 minutes and no electronic components were involved. Mechanics wanted to charge me 300$ plus. I'm forever thankful to the associate and the manager who helped me. Inconsiderate staff: I purchased two brand new brake rotors from O'Reilly's Auto Parts store. Standard drill, year, make, model and type of vehicle, they grab the parts, you pay, and you leave. No problem. Unfortunately, the brake rotors were the wrong size for the vehicle because their system lists the wrong part number. Again, no problem. These things happen. I had to remove my wheel and brake calipers and rotor to find out that these parts do not fit, and this was annoying, but not the end of the world. Problem: Obviously I went to return the parts. To my amazement, the cashier insisted he was doing me a favor because normally they don't take returns for parts that are opened and dirty. The parts had a little black brake dust on them from my installation attempt. He told me, "I'll do it just this one time." I told him they parts don't fit. I want brake rotors. I want to have these brake rotors on my vehicle. I don't want to make extra trips to the store. I don't want to remove the wheel and calipers and brake pads and rotor twice just to complete the job once. I don't want to return the brake rotors at all, but O'Reilly sold me the wrong part. So then, what am I supposed to do with these brake rotors that do not fit the car that O'Reilly says will fit. The poor guy didn't seem to follow the logic of having sold non-fitting parts, so we finished the return I left and now, after this post, I'm feeling much better. :^) Moral to the story here is do not go to O'Reilly's for auto pats when so many other options are available where you can return the parts if they make a mistake without being belittled by the staff. -SKH read more

Just got a new battery from these guys in Andrew helped me. He was very kind and not condescending as I am a woman and usually run into that when I go into places for my car. He not only helped me pick out which battery I needed but he also took out the old one and installed the new one within 15 minutes. I highly recommend this place and if you can get Andrew to wait on you, you won't be disappointed. Like a lot of retail establishments, the way things roll out for customers is entirely dependent on who is working that day - at the counter, or as the manager or supervisor. Most days this place is pretty helpful. Some days they actually go out from behind the counter and lend some expertise. I've been to over 25 locations traveling THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE I AM YET TO RECEIVE. These guys have wasted my day. I walked one hour in the freezing cold to have the manager Colin and an associate Daniel tell me that he wasn't gonna exchange my battery I just purchased a few weeks ago. He refused to return it and it felt very rude they were super inconsiderate and laughing saying if it were a phone could I return it what manger says that? My check engine light came on and I heard a commercial that if a check engine light comes on take it to O'Reillys and they can do diagnostics for free on it. I walked in and told them that I need to have a code cleared or checked out and both Sheridan and Jim refused to help me. They said that code will clear on its own. Went to O'Reilly on hwy 99 WAlked into the store told the people behind the counter what was needed they pointed is to aisle 3 and stood behind the counter an started to laugh about something back was 35.00 lug wrench 20.00. Disgusted with lack of service and prices walked out. Oh my gosh. Came in here with a dead battery on my husbands trailer, as he had tasked me with dumping it today. Well I am CLUELESS and the sweet man whose name is escaping me right now was AMAZING!!!! Took out the old battery, installed the new and went back out with me to make sure that it worked. Hay, good prices, conveniently located and the staff was fast and friendly.

I went here today for fuel injection system cleaner. The were the only people near by with the brand that I like. They have a full motivated staff so even though there were other customers I was in and out in a decent amount of time. Also they checked my check engine light for free. Here's the best part : I need an o2 sensor and they were ready to sell me one, but also gave me some suggestions to do before having to buy it- I may not need it after all. I appreciate that. I wanted my battery tested and was asked to give up my place in line TWICE because there were customers waiting make their purchases, so I gladly did. Little did I know one of those transactions was going to take 10 minutes(literally). Then upon getting back up to the register, the associate(older man) refused to test my battery because there was still a line. Do I not matter simply because I'm not making a purchase? Customer service is customer service. Don't advertise free battery testing if you're not going to treat customers who want their battery tested equal to customers buying a gasket. read more

First thing, Miguel I think he told me his name is, was an exceptional help. My car was breaking down on the way to work today and he helped me find exactly what I needed to fix my car issues and was extremely kind. Also they allowed me to borrow a drill so I didn't have to buy one and k just gave them my ID while I fixed my car in the parking lot. This store is awesome and the employees are awesome as well! Sometimes I go here and get great service, and sometimes I go here and get treated like crap. My most recent purchase was a new brake light, and the guy who helped me was very kind and didn't roll his eyes when I told him I would be changing it myself. I would give them 5 stars if they had more employees like him! Prices are better here than either of the auto part stores up the street, so that's why I usually end up going back. read more

A gentleman named Harvey took care of me. He helped me find the air filters I needed for my Prius and helped me put them in! He provided excellent customer service and was very kind. I initially went to Autozone for my filters which they didn't have and weren't willing to put in, so it was a very nice surprise to go to O'Reilly and have them take care of me. read more

They're usually pretty down to earth and helpful. They are much better than the place that used to be at this location not too long ago.

I've only been here once to buy new wiper blades, but I was very happy with the customer service. I stood in the wiper blade aisle looking completely lost, and an employee came up to me in no time and helped me pick out the correct pair of blades. He offered to install them for me with no fuss, and was done doing it before I even made it through the checkout line and paid. I will be returning here for any auto parts needs. read more

Extremely poor customer service ! I bought an alternator from the Tigard O'rielly store and it went bad in 6 days . While this is frustrating it's not the reason for the review. A tow truck driver from AAA came out after my daughters car wouldn't start and he told her the alternator was bad .... Me thinking no way it's brand new . So he towed the car home . I checked it myself and he was right . So I went through the time to pull the alternator and go back to the Tigard O'rielly only to be told they won't warranty it because their machine was broken and they won't warranty it without it being checked . And I would have to drive to Tualatin . It was 8:30 pm and this of course did not make me happy . I asked to talk to a manager . He said no one was available . I asked for a corporate number and he said I'd have to google that (Austin) was no help what so ever . After driving to Tualatin the manager there pointed out that all the managers, district managers and regional manager numbers where right on or near the front door entry . I buy a lot of parts at this store every year but do to this extremely poor customer service I think I will be taking my business next door to auto zone . They offer the same warranty . O'rielly shouldn't be advertising a life time warranty if your not going to honor it .... read more
