I had to purchase a new battery from another supplier but returned to Interstate the following day to get a refund on the remaining warranty. I was told the warranty was no longer valid since I did not purchase the new battery from them. I had to purchase a battery from somewhere else so I was able to get to work that day. I even asked for a store credit and was denied. The manager told me that the warranty is only good if I continue to purchase batteries from them. I paid $169.99 for a battery that only lasted though 1/2 it's life and was there is nothing they could do. This is very poor customer service and I will not recommend or ever return to Interstate battery again! Update: After talking with a represenative from the main office in IA and the business manager they determined that there will be no action taken for the warranty left on my battery. DO NOT PURCHASE AN INTERSTATE BATTERY...IT DOES NOT COME WITH A WARRANTY!

Sure enough, Ben ran a test to see what was going on and luckily it was just a bad battery. Got a new one, they installed it, took maybe 10 minutes. Thank you!

My husband purchased a vehicle battery from Batteries Plus in Papillion, NE with a warranty…read more Approximately one year later, his vehicle would not start, so he returned to that location to have the battery evaluated. The employee assisting him, Eric, immediately stated the issue was not the battery but something in the vehicle draining it. He is not a mechanic, yet confidently dismissed the possibility that the battery could be defective, and refused to honor the warranty. To avoid further back and forth with this employee, my husband took the vehicle to a certified mechanic for a diagnostic. The mechanic confirmed that the battery was in fact faulty. He returned to Batteries Plus, this time visiting the Omaha location on North 90th Street, hoping for a smoother warranty process. Unfortunately, Eric was working at that location. When my husband explained that a mechanic had confirmed the battery was bad and he wanted to proceed with a warranty replacement, Eric questioned where the battery had been because it appeared dirty and stated, "You f**cked the battery up." His tone was confrontational and dismissive. When my husband calmly asked to speak to a manager, Eric stated that he was the manager and accused my husband of escalating the situation simply for requesting further assistance. We expected professionalism and assistance, especially when addressing a warranty claim supported by a mechanic's diagnosis. Instead, we experienced hostility and unprofessional treatment. Based on this experience, we will not be returning and would encourage others to consider other options for their battery needs.

He told me to search something on Safari, but he said it so fast that I didn't understand what it was called. I didn't want to ask again because he already seemed annoyed. When I politely asked if he could type it out for me since I couldn't find it, he responded, "No, I'm not touching your phone." He then told me I needed to "learn how to use Safari" and said, "Well, you need to fix that," in a sarcastic and dismissive way. He made no effort to help or guide me and was very disrespectful. I told him I couldn't find it, wished him a good day, and left. He continued staring at me rudely and didn't say anything back. If you don't like your job, don't work there and if you're having a bad day, don't take it out on customers. Very disrespectful place.

Unfortunately- horribly disappointed. I have purchased a number of auto batteries and battery…read moretenders from Interstate. Including a battery for my 1991 jaguar XJS. I had purchased a battery in 2018 which failed in 2021. I took it in and I received a discount towards a new battery last summer. I had difficulties with this new battery maintaining a charge, to the point that I always had a battery tender on it.This vehicle is stored through the winter, I check on it monthly if not more. When I checked on it this morning I noticed that the battery had exploded. I took the battery to the 72nd St. location to make a warranty claim. They first implied that I dropped the battery, then stated it was something wrong with the vehicle, then stated there was something wrong with the battery tender of which I purchased from them. In the end they refused to honor their warranty and told me they would sell me a new battery at cost. They tried to tell me the only way a battery would explode is if it were being overcharged. It took me all of 10 seconds to search the Internet to see multiple reasons why an automobile battery would explode like it did. Primarily it's seems when hydrogen and oxygen gases build up because of improper ventilation with in the battery and any ignition occurs - an explosion may result - including if ignition from within the battery. I am oversimplifying but the end result is I purchased a battery last summer worked poorly last summer when I put the vehicle away in the winter and checked on it monthly it was fine until this morning when it had already exploded. Something was wrong with that battery and the company should honor its warranty. I am someone that owns 10 cars and almost all of them have interstate batteries. Now I am removing all of them in part because there must be something wrong with the design of their batteries and the company refuses to honor their warranty.
