Came out to fix dishwasher last week, but ended up needing a part. Technician, Mike, was friendly and knowledgeable. Was told would likely be in this week and would come out to install it. Haven't heard back from the company yet, after paying for the call and the part. Tried calling, no answer; and as another reviewer noted, there is no ability to leave a message (mailbox full). Very disappointing, as you'd at least expect a courtesy call. I'll submit a follow up revieonce there is some resolution. read more

I called Intertech because my Fischer & Paykell dryer had a filter issue. The service tech came out, did a temporary fix, then came out a week later and replaced the part. Great. It turned out, however, that he'd broken the top of the dryer while replacing the part. I called them to let them know. FIVE WEEKS LATER, they finally came out and replaced the top of my dryer. In doing so, the same tech took a chunk out of the control panel. It's only cosmetic, but still, it's damaged. At no point did the tech tell me that he'd broken anything - I had to discover the damage on my own. Never again. Fischer & Paykell repair places are pretty scarce in Chicago, but I'll find someone else the next time the dryer or washer acts up. read more

We have used Intertech several times for our Fischer & Paykel dishwasher. It is evident Mike knows what he is doing. He finds the problem & quickly fixes it or will order the part & come back. He is great with F&P, unlike another company that "said" they serviced them, but charged me a huge fee to further break it since was evident they had no clue. If you have a F&P machine, Mike is awesome! Love that my '01 dishwasher is still working & when things do go wrong, know it is repairable. read more

Our refrigerator was repaired in the estimated time and works well. A competitive price inline with other quotes, friendly tech's and a working appliance. I was fortunate to find Intertech after almost having my wallet lifted by the Platinum Mechanical pirates (their bill would have been $1300 to repair a Liebherr icemaker.) Mike from Intertech was able to squeeze me into his packed schedule the next day. He was able to diagnose and repair in just over an hour for $189 (flat cost for however many visits and hours would be required; parts addl.) Call Mike. Get results and pay reasonably. We have a DCS gas range and it wasn't heating properly and with Thanksgiving coming up we were having trouble finding a competent repair service. We called Intertech and they came out within 2 hours! Mike found the problem- a bad igniter but he didn't have the part. I paid the $189 service fee and he came back today, two days later, the day before Thanksgiving and I had him replace both igniters FOR ONLY THE COST OF THE PARTS! Mike did a great job and overall it was fairly priced for labor and 2 trips for that first service fee. They are a little hard to reach by phone but have patience as it is worth it! read more

I have a Fisher and Paykel washer. After reading some of the reviews from others here, as well as Intertech's high trip cost, I had some serious trepidation about calling them. In fact, i had initially called another company, who had come out and misdiagnosed the problem. $175 later it still had the same problem. They came when they said they would come, and quickly repaired the problem and got me washing again. I have a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher (dish drawers). They are great appliances, but due to age they do need repair from time to time. A few years ago had one of the big names in appliances out to fix, but the repair tech didn't really know the product and it was painful. When the machines needed repair this time - I went with Intertech Service, as it was recommended on the F&P website. Boy am I glad I went with Intertech. First the technician - Mike really knew his "stuff." Mike went straight to work after I explained the two issues - one major and one minor. Mike is methodical and has a great approach. In no time Mike had the minor issue fixed. And for the major issue a blown circuit board that killed both dishwashers. Mike had the replacement part in his vehicle!!! If I went with the "big name" in repair - they would have had to order the part and that would have meant two service calls over a two week time. Try living without a dishwasher for two weeks. Fair price for services and parts, Mike knew what he was doing. Fixed service cost no matter how long it took or how many trips back for ordered parts. Other service providers were open ended and service costs would have been significantly higher. Parts took longer than expected but Fisher Paykel washer was fixed and good to go. I too had an F&P appliance. I had a more than one problem; the tech fixed one of them and temporarily fixed the others that returned within a day....when I called I was informed "that's normal." If they stood behind their service I'd say great, but alas they did not and feel I was over charged for poor service. Will not use them again and do not recommend. Better off investing the hundreds of dollars you get charged for a service call in a new appliance! read more

Our experience with Intertech Service speaks for itself. Our Fisher Paykel Dishwasher had a leak. A&E Factory Service (Bloomingdale, IL location) came out to fix it (they had the first available service appointment and were recommended by a local retailer who sells Fisher Paykel dishwashers). They charged $75 and advised us it would cost over $1000 to repair and the repair might not work. Ergo...we should just buy a new one. Since the replacement would be costly, I had Intertech Service come out to take a look at it and get their opinion. I did not tell them about A&E's recommendation. The service man fixed the problem in less than an hour; he had the needed parts with him and accomplished the task quickly and neatly. Total cost: $526.61. Maybe the Intertech representative who did our repair was exceptional, but we were thrilled with the service. The dishwasher was repaired 12/08/11, the parts have a 5 year warranty, and we haven't had a problem with it since. read more
