I began searching for a private eye care (not a chain) that was close to my house and worried that I wouldn't be able to find one I liked. My search has now ended. This office has a friendly and professional staff, thorough exams with providers that listen and answer all of your questions. If you need an eye doctor that you can have pure confidence in this is your place.

However, the 7 day return policy is not flexible enough. When it comes to progressives, you need a few days to adjust to them. If there's a problem, one needs time to return to the store, find out that the prescription might be wrong, reschedule another ophthalmologist appt, and then return again with a new prescription. For people who work, it is not possible to miss so much work--or get another doctor's appointment so quickly--and return to fix the glasses. I spent a few hundred dollars for unwearable glasses because I work full-time and could not get back into the store with a new prescription within 7 days. I had to wait another year before I could address this due to insurance coverage. I recommend DHEC for standard glasses and the outstanding staff, but if you need progressives that might need some adjustments over time, you might want to consider a place with a more lenient policy.

I'm so grateful to have found her on Yelp many months ago! Special shout-out to Emily! As a first time client, she was inviting and frankly fun to talk to. Also she helped me pick out the coolest pair of new glasses. PS- Dr Jen mentioned my prescription had hardly changed, so I wouldn't need a new pair of glasses. What?!? My recent appointment with Dr. Lindsay Eisenberg was efficient; however, during the exam, the doctor used her fingers to demonstrate slanted eyes while discussing dry eye and made a comment about Botox in relation to this. This gesture and remark were racially insensitive and have no place in patient care, as comments and gestures of this nature affect whether patients feel safe seeking care. I have decided not to return. Overall, the clinic runs smoothly, and don't forget to request your updated prescription at checkout!

I picked a pair of frames and spent about $300+ after insurance. Again, no complaints. Kat called me to inform me that my glasses were ready for pick up. I went and immediately noticed that the prescription was not correct. I shared this concern at pick up and was told that due to the prescription that I needed to wear them for about two weeks to allow my eyes to get adjusted. I didn't fully understand this because my prescription was the same as it had always been. I complied, and experienced headache and eye aches. I shared this and went back to the location. Again, I was assured that the prescription was current and shouldn't cause me to have any concerns. Instead it was. No resolve, I left to advocate another day. I went home and found my prescriptions from the prior year and current year, I called back and spoke to Kat to share with her my concerns and findings. She found the error, and i stead of apologizing she just took the glasses. The wrong prescription was totally wrong. I left the glasses and came back a few days later to pick them up. Again, I am still having an issue seeing. I shared this again, but was over talked and ignored. I was given the same advice of allowing the eyes to adjust to this situation. After two weeks and same concern I went somewhere else. They were able to find the concern and I spoke with the location and was told I would get a call back. It never happened, time passed and it slipped my mind to follow-up. I did call back months later and was told that although I communicated my concerns of not being able to see, and I was awaiting a response that too much time had passed for them to adjust the prescription. It sucks that I have had to overly communicate, advocate and continuously go back and fourth to get this situation corrected and still no resolve. I shared my concerns at every visit. I brought up the concern and did everything and I am still in a position of losing out money because of this. While I have a good experience at this facility the last two years have been difficult. I am choosing to not patronize going forward. While this is my experience, I share so that you are well informed.

I consider myself very experienced in assessing the quality of ophthalmology care. You are in good hands here. I appreciated that Sarah Williford took the time to show me the results of my tests and make sure I understood and did not have any questions. Worth highlighting: the practice takes Anthem Blue Vision - this was the fourth practice I called (on the Anthem Blue Cross website) and the staff took the time to look up my insurance and tell me the name of my vision insurance was Blue Vision- information not on my card, so I was impressed. Other ophthalmologists did not take that time & turned me away. Also, I received a text message with full disclosure about the cost of additional tests that the practice runs due to their standard of care- well before my appointment. This transparency is very helpful. The costs were modest. The space is in an older home near the heart of Decatur, walkable from Marta. There is also free parking behind - which is a big plus in Decatur. (Actually, free parking is a big plus anywhere in Atlanta, and I find that most doctors don't validate parking. ) It looks like they have a good selection of glasses frames and the staff are friendly and helpful. My appointment was right on time, and I was out far quicker than expected.

Last year 2025 , I had eye surgery due to a specific eye dystrophy that dictated that the glasses needed to be specific to my particular visual needs. So I was escorted to the front of the office and the Dr. told the eye wear manager/ sales person what I needed. I looked at the different types of frames available and indicated to her that the frames were way out of my price range . I told her that I would have to bring in old frames to have lenses inserted. We went over the types of prescriptions I needed in my lens ( transitions, progressive glare reduction kinda stuff. . I also wanted a a pair of sun glasses for distance when driving also giving her my own frames for distance as well. The total was 756.00. I know I could have said no thank you but I thought I needed that particular prescription. to see better. So I reluctantly gave her my card. Fast forward to today, I went to a different eye center for an exam and glasses. I got the same exact prescription for both glasses with frames included for 375.00. I was so focused on my medical needs for my eyes that I paid a huge price the first time even with telling her I couldn't afford the frames I guess , with all that being said I still got the most expensive prescription lenses nontheless. I did question why the lenses cost so much but her sales pitch seemed logical for my needs. The moral of my story is to not always believe that your best financial decision will be considered

I was told that appointments were given a 15 minute grace period. The receptionist then asked if I would be able to get there by 9:00am. I told her my GPS was showing I would but I didn't know what traffic would do. She thanked me for calling and we hung up. I wound up arriving at 9:03am due to 2 lanes being blocked because of an accident. I was told that I would have to reschedule because I was a new patient and there was paperwork I would have to fill out. I asked why the receptionist didn't tell me that I wouldn't be seen if I was past the grace period. The check-in person said that she heard the receptionist tell me that they give a 15 minute grace period. To be clear, the receptionist didn't tell me my appt would be canceled. I asked if 3 minutes really made that big of a difference and she said "yes because I was a new patient". So, after traveling 90 minutes to get to this appt based on a friend's recommendation, I left without seeing anyone. I understand that doctors have tight schedules, you as the patient have to allow for Atlanta rush hour traffic (which I did do by buffering for an extra 45 minutes) and they told me I had a 15 minute grace period. I am frustrated that I now have to turn around over 3 minutes. I guess if you have to give one patient more grace, it's too much. They have their rules and I have my disappointment. I advise anyone making a morning appointment to allow 60 minutes because 45 wasn't enough for me personally. This office rates high. I'm sure they are great if you're lucky enough to get there on time.
