I used to like this place and wanted to continue liking this place, but they completely botched my prescription less than a year ago (June 2019). Since then because my prescription was too weak my eyesight has steadily gotten worse. Due to their error I have to be blind until June when my insurance will ALLOW me to see another optometrist. I can barely drive right now. The vision test was on a small TV screen less than 20ft away. It just tries to mimic the distance by being small. I could see that perfectly but I can't read the massive overhead signs on the interstate, street signs on residential roads, or the signs of businesses (ya know, the HUGE ones on the front of stores). I moved out of state, so you can't help me and quite frankly, I don't want you to. I'm just VERY upset because I have to wait until June because of their incompetence. I'm giving 2 stars purely for the dog(s) that hang out there and the doctor IS nice. Maybe go here if you have a low index prescription, but high indexes might wanna stay clear. read more

My new glasses needed adjustment. The glasses weren't level and kept sliding down my nose. I went back to the store for an adjustment four times and the glasses still didn't fit. I stopped by the optometrist in little five points and had them adjusted. Now they fit! read more

Such a cute eye doctor spot! I moved to Atlanta about a year ago and needed a new eye doc. I saw reviews on social media for this place, so I decided to check it out. It's in a very centralized location and there is parking in the back. It doesn't feel like a typical stuffy doctor's office... it's adorable. The staff was very helpful and they're very on top of things. They sent plenty of emails and information ahead of time so I didn't need to do anything when I arrived. Dr. Bennett was super sweet and personable. I got what I needed and was in and out within an hour. Would highly recommend. read more

My seven year old daughter has been wearing glasses for four years, and we've gotten two pairs at Highland Eye Boutique. The staff are all awesome--professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, A lot of places claim to be family-friendly, but H.E.B. truly is. There's no toy corner or cutsie wallpaper, but Aida, Rob, and Kristie are all obviously experienced in dealing with children of all energy levels, and they've made going to get glasses a much calmer, productive affair (where at places before, it was mayhem). Then there's Charlie the dog. The kids just beg to go back to see him. When it was time to pick out my frames, Aida, Kristie, and Rob all joined in, giving their opinions on the dozen or so I tried on. I'm no good at colors or fashion, but I felt like I was getting honest opinions on what looked good and what didn't, and I felt good about my final selection. I was looking for a new eye doctor, since the last time I ordered contacts, I received a message from 1-800-contacts saying that my old eye doctor couldn't locate me as a patient. My prescription may have been expired, but I saw him only a year and a half ago. Add to that the fact that I wasn't impressed with his front of house staff on my single visit to him and the fact that I'm moving soon, and it was obviously time to go hunting. I have VSP for vision insurance and was pleased to see that Highland Eye Boutique not only accepts my insurance, but also had five stars on Yelp. No joke, this place is so well-deserving of those five stars. It's small, but in this case, that's a good thing. There is one eye doctor, which means the waiting room is never overflowing and appointments seem to run on time. Dr. Bennett gives you her full and complete attention and my appointment didn't feel rushed in the slightest. If anything, it was the most complete eye exam I've ever had. She recommended a few additional tests that I've never had done before, and while I spent a little bit extra, she sat and explained all of the results to me thoroughly. In addition, she doesn't do the puff test for glaucoma! I don't know about you, but I hate that test, and apparently it isn't all that effective anyhow. Although I was up for an eye exam, my benefit for my frames wasn't up quite yet. The optician who helped me suggested that we order lenses, then wait a few weeks and order my frames once January rolled around and I could use my benefit. I felt like she was looking out for my best interest. My lenses came in, and a few weeks later, I stopped by and picked out frames. Lee helped me with the selection process, and even though he was the only one there, he managed to be attentive and helpful. The frames they stock are truly beautiful and very current with the trends. Because my lenses were already in store, he was able to get my glasses back to me within a day! I am so, so happy with my experience at Highland Eye Boutique. I would highly recommend you make your vision a priority and make an appointment here. You may pay a little bit extra, but it is absolutely worth every penny. I am so happy with my new glasses and will come back here as long as I live in Atlanta. Bonus: Charlie, an English bulldog, is often snoozing in the waiting room. His little snores really make Highland Eye Boutique feel like home. read more

Lovely place & people. I really enjoy coming here for my eye exams and glasses. The doctor is very kind and patient and fun to talk to. The folks who work in the front are also very nice and have been helpful in getting my new glasses purchased. They worked with me on my FSA, and were quite helpful with that, too. What a great place!!! I hadn't had an eye exam in close to six years and knew my eyes needed help. My insurance is somewhat limited so I did an online search for participating providers. Luckily I found one not too far from home. While the office is relocating soon, parking was easy and the boutique was impressive without being intimidating. The staff, including Charlie, was very friendly My exam was very thorough and Dr. Bennett was terrific. She communicated changes to my eyes in a way I could understand. I didn't get glasses on this visit (waiting for my 2016 FSA to kick in) but they helped me get an idea of what I want. Best of all, no charge!!! I know that's because of my insurance but it made a good visit great!! I will definitely go back and recommend others to visit. read more

I came in to have a new exam and purchase new glasses. The doctor was amazing! I came out and a wonderful gentleman was helping me and doing a great job with telling me about lenses that would work with my prescription. Everything was going well until this older lady came up and was questioning the man helping me. She wanted me to spend hundreds of more dollars for different lenses. I felt that was rude of her to come up when I was obviously working with someone else. It was not at all professional. I have been coming to this shop for years and this is the first time I have ever left with a bad taste in my mouth. read more

So great to find amazing customer service these days... :) I'm just back home after picking up my repaired glasses, broken last week when I fell on a hiking trip. An arm had snapped off the frame and the lenses and frame were severely scratched. These glasses are absolutely necessary (with progressive trifocals lenses - aka $$$) and I love them, too. The repair cost? $70. Lee had the right hinge and reattached the arm in house - cost $25. The lenses were under warranty (they knew that, not me), so replacing these very expensive lenses was $45. And, I had them back in a week. Combination of experience, the right tools, and caring - perfect. Thank you so very much, Lee and the staff at Highland Eye. read more

I purchased a pair of Todd Roger glasses here over a year ago and had a problem with my lenses. I went in the office and Lee had them back to me in less then a week, he was great! Dr. Bennett was very personable and down to earth explaining all of the tests in laymen' s turns. And the entire staff was awesome. I know I spent a good 45 minutes with Lee picking out just the right frames and he made sure I was satisfied. This. Place. Is. Awesome. You know when you go to the doctor and they're in a rush and already bored by you and make you feel like just one of a hundred people they're seeing that day? This was 100% the opposite. I'm one of those blind-as-a-bat people who's been having eye exams regularly since I was six, and this was by far the best one I've gotten. Dr. Bennett took the time to explain everything she was doing, which was really interesting and cool, and taught me a lot I hadn't known despite all those past exams. But even better than the atmosphere is the fact that I CAN SEE AGAIN! My eyes are so bad that my previous eye doctor (at the Harvard eye clinic!) told me 20-60 was the best my vision would ever be with contacts, so I've spent the past four years making my miserable way through the blurry world, leaning in too close to my computer screen, unable to read coffee shop menus. Now I'm seeing with perfect 20-20 vision. The trees have leaves! I can see everything! I can't emphasize enough how amazing this is. Dr. Bennett is a miracle worker. Extra bonus: Weezer playing in the reception area! And they were awesome about working with me on payment, since I'm uninsured right now. Seriously, quit your other eye doctor, go here, never look back. read more

First of all, Dr. Bennett is very helpful and friendly, and the eye exam is good. I gave a one star rate is because the lack of communication of the staff and customer. I was suggested a take a retinal photo which is cool, and it cost $39. But the contact lens exam was very upset, I was not informed by the staff that the extra $55 cost of the exam (since it was just 2 minute check after you tried on the contact lens). When I asked the staff that I don't know there is additional charge on the contact lens exam, I got a reply that you signed a document which I don't remember. Of course you cannot check any paperwork after you eyes are diluted... I asked to do the eye exam with my issuance copay, but the bill turn to be over $100. Also, they don't take some benefit of your insurance and charge extra items like polishing which many other stores won't. read more

This is a great place. Pleasant atmosphere. They have really nice frames, funky frames - Face a Face, Lindberg, Sama - others I've never heard of but just as nice. The folks know their glasses and can honestly tell what looks good on you. Dr. Bennett is pleasant, down to earth and professional - that is all I can ask for in an Ophthalmologist. Yes, there are less expensive options in glasses, but with the service, quality of the lenses AND most important, the accuracy of the Rx - Highland Boutique is at the top of the list. One star off for the mandatory annual checkup which not only prevents ordering new lenses but virtually getting any information at all. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I felt I had the most comprehensive eye exam of my whole life here. The doctor took the time to go over any issues I had been having with my eyes and offered suggestions. When I called to make the appointment, there was plenty of availability, and I didn't have to wait when I got there either. I also love the bulldog that lies around! My glasses were ready for me sooner than expected, so that was a pleasant surprise. I ended up ordering my frames online, so I can't comment about the frame selection. I had an outstanding experience at the Highland Eye Boutique. Dr. Bennett gave my eyes a thorough examination for both contacts and glasses. She took the time to explain each test to me and reviewed the results (particularly the computer generated images). I appreciated being treated like I was an adult capable of understanding the health of my eye (not the case at other places). She was very receptive to all of my questions, and the appointment was not rushed at all. When I finished the exam, Rob took ample time to work with me to find the perfect set of frames for me. I appreciated that he offered his advice and did not automatically direct me to the most expensive frames. They have a great set of frames, with plenty of different styles. Rob worked with me to explore when/where I was most likely to wear my glasses as opposed to my contacts to find a frame that was both useful and expressive. The fitting went smoothly. This is an independently owned, upscale, and excellent full service optometrist, glasses, frame, and contact lens shop located in the heart of Morningside, between Alon's and Doc Chey's. I had a spectacular experience at highland eye boutique. Dr. Bennett uses two forms of acuity measurement, auto-refraction as well as classic manual tests where they switch the lenses, to find your prescription and uses a slit lamp with dilation to inspect for retinal or optic nerve disorders. If you chose, you can also request a digital photo of your retina to be inspected at an external grading center. All is provided in a sparkling clean, relaxed, and fun environment. After testing, I was able to view what my prescription would look like through a pair of sample lenses and was amazed at the improvement. Lee is in charge of helping you to pick out frames and he is spectacular as well. He starts by allowing you to pick out a few frames that you are interested in, and then works within your defined style to isolate the pair that you like. In my case this was a pair that I had originally missed. It was like the ones I had been looking at but was cooler and more stylish. I was very happy with my final choice. In terms of payment, there prices are fair although not cheap, but its definitely worth it. Also, the are fantastic at incorporating insurance, and making the entire payment process seamless. I could not be more satisfied. 5 stars plus! read more

I just went in for my first eye exam at Highland Eye Boutique and I loved it! I was promptly greeted by Charlie, their resident bulldog, who was sunbathing on the hardwood floor. The staff was nice and helpful, but Dr. Bennett impressed me the most. She was more than knowledgeable and was able to discuss my options without making me feel pressured or in over my head. I can honestly say that I've never really experienced that before, and it's enough to keep me coming back. I didn't check out the prices on their eyewear, but I imagine they're a bit high-end. But, as the name implies, this is a boutique, so you're not exactly getting your average pair of glasses! I would definitely consider them before buying my glasses or contacts somewhere else. read more

Everyone, including the bulldog greeter were so welcoming. Cathy took her time with me to ensure i was totally happy and said not to hesitate to run back in if they needed further adjusting. The environment here is absolutely amazing and welcoming. From making my appointment online through getting my glasses a week later, Rob and Christie were delightful. When it was time to pick out my frames, Rob patiently went through every collection and helped me pick out my favorites, then offered critiques of every pair I tried on until I found the ones I loved. WOW!!!! This place is amazing. Not even comparable to what you would expect from going to the eye doctor. From the beginning I was actually looking forward to going to my appointment.
