Many thoughts so I will summarize:…read more PRIMARILY: DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE!!! The doctors may be good but everything else is a train wreck. At the suggestion of the doctor's surgical coordinator I changed my health insurance, not an easy process, to allow "In Network" care. After a few visits preparing for Cataract surgery I was told I needed a referral from a PCP. Yes, that is common but I discussed with the same surgical coordinator and then it became an issue. More exams...eye measurements, pre op, paperwork, upgraded laser payment, etc...and I had a PCP provide a referral. The original surgery date had been rescheduled due to the insurance issue partly to blame on the surgical coordinator. After confirming a final appointment with the practice prior to surgery the surgical coordinator informed me by phone, the day before, that all that was necessary was to resign the paperwork. On the day of the appointment I arrived at the designated appointment time, checked in, and waited to be called. Thirty five minutes later I asked the front desk the status. At that point they physically took my chart to "the back" to see what was happening. Another ten minutes passed and I asked again as to the status of my appointment to sign papers. A tech arrived and the first words were "Can we reschedule for four days in the future". The surgery was scheduled for nine days from the that day. I informed her that I would be out of town until the day before surgery. I asked to speak to the Practice Manager. I was summoned to her office and asked her what was happening with my appointment. She stated she did not know. I asked how she could not know after four staff members had been involved. She had no explanation. I CANNOT trust my vision to a doctor's practice that does "NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING". Concerned, I immediately asked to cancel the procedure after five visits requiring approximately four hours of my in office time not to mention commute time, insurance time, and waiting time. When I requested a refund of the $2100.00 that I prepaid for the upgraded laser for the procedure. The Practice Manager stated it was not available. I left the office. When I reached my vehicle the surgical coordinator called and asked for me to return. The surgical coordinator claimed the issue that day was due to insurance. Everything was in order per the phone call surgical coordinator the prior day explicitly confirming all insurance was filed, confirming coverage, and stated that signing updated information was all that was needed. I informed the surgical coordinator that I cannot trust the doctor's practice given the MANY issues. Procedure cancelled. DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE!!!

I had to change insurance providers a couple of years ago and lost access to a great network of…read moredoctors, so since then, I've been looking for a eye practice that I trust. I saw Dr. Rabitsch this week and was very impressed by her and by the practice as a whole. I think I will be staying here for a good long time. I have an old eye injury that means I have to exercise extra care and also have severe dry eye. In searching for a new eye doctor home, I created one-pager for new doctors just so I don't need to explain timeline of the injury, followup treatment and key diagnoses. For the first time in visiting new eye doctors, it was 100% clear to me that yes, Dr. Rabitsch had looked at the medical paperwork I'd filled out ahead of time. Not only that, but the nurse/assistant who saw me prior to seeing Dr. R also had reviewed the paperwork. Wow. That seems so simple, but having been to other eye doctors in the past couple years, it's not the norm. Both the assistant and doctor also repeatedly checked into to make sure they knew my goals in coming and were great about explaining what they were doing and why. I ended up getting an eye exam (which I needed, but hadn't planned on) and while the Dr. invited me to use their optical department, there wasn't any hard sell. Due to my injury, I tend to need a new, expensive prescription about every year, so I mentioned a place I get my glasses. She shared that they have a budget frame line and gave me a rough estimate of what my prescription would likely cost there. That is just the info I need without feeling guilty b/c I'm not immediately planning to get glasses there, and as I look at getting my glasses made, I may very well end up back at the practice to purchase them. Yes, as one review noted, there may be a little extra wait time, but for a doctor one doesn't generally see that often, I can live with wait time if I know and trust that the medical team is going to be thorough in the exam and be clear about their explanations to me.

Totally pathetic experience. I have left two messages with…read moreEve, their so called Optemetrist for making an appointment to spend probably $3,000 on prescription glasses. No response in over a week. PLEASE do not spend one penny with this facility.

They... - focus on research rather than profit, which mean they generally carry the latest technology - better scores for patient happiness since EEC hypothetically would value people over profits - offer top tier graduate and professional programs (like their medical programs) My entire experience, from pre-ops to my actual eye surgery to my post-op appointment, was for the most part seamless thanks to Dr. Praneetha Thulasi. I asked her so many questions, and she never once answered without ever rolling her eyes or exemplifying any impatience. She explained as much as she could in layman's terms to me, too. She also executed my surgery flawlessly. Before, "white clouds" in my eye would obstruct my few making it even difficult for me to read. I had trouble driving at night. I couldn't enjoy life at times, honestly. But after my surgery, life never looked so clear. Thank you so much, Dr. Thulasi. I appreciate your masterfulness implanting that multifocal lens into my right eye. My only feedback? The clinic that performed my operation could have done a better job communicating my appointment time... I received three calls from three different people, and a few opportunities to improve reside there. The pharmacy that also provided the pre and post-op drops gave me the wrong prescription (but that's on them, really). Aside from these minor things, though, I LOVED the sweet nurses who took care of me. (I found out I can't stand watching a needle being inserted into my hand.) If you need a cataract surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Thulasi. Not only one of the best opthamologists, but doctors ever, too.

They don't know who canceled the appointment but it was canceled without my knowledge. This trip cost me a day's pay, gas and a parking fee, all of which Emory will never give back. This is the second screw up. Two years ago, when I was at a family dinner, they kept texting me instructions of what to do after having eye surgery. WHAT??? Clearly wrong person. I guess they're getting me mixed up with someone else. I don't believe I'm going to give them a chance to get me mixed up with someone else. It's time for me to move on and find another doctor and office.

Since then, I've opted to see opthamologists rather than optometrists, simply because they can better detect some of the other problems with my screwed-up eyes. Back when I was working across the street from Northlake Mall, I did a search for an opthamologist and found Dr. Glass located in the same complex as my office. When I went for my exam, Dr. Glass and his technician both treated me very well, and looked forward to getting my new glasses. I ordered a pair of glasses with scratch-resistant lenses here, and one of the lenses I received had a deep vertical scratch when I picked them up. I did not accept them, and the replacement pair I received were also scratched (although not as badly as the initial pair). For the most part, I was happy with the treatment I got at this office, but I left with a bad feeling about their suppliers.
