When the unit goes into a lock-out, will the car start?

Guess it depends on the ' type of lockout ' . I have had more trouble with this device than it's worth. I use an inhaler for COPD. If I try to start my truck after using my albuterol, I blow positive and go into a ' service lockout ' ,which gives…

I had my 2024 Golf R tinted today at Tint World in Urbandale, they did a fantastic job…read more For those who have a VW Golf, you probably know how hard it is to tint the windows on these cars - many places turned me away, or wouldn't do the back window at all, because the windows are smaller in size and hard to get tint properly placed on them. Although they were unable to do the windshield, due to the difficulty and specialty tools involved, they were able to do all side windows and back window and it looks fantastic, I would highly recommend. They were prompt and professional, 10/10 service and communication.

I've been promising my husband the gift of tinted windows for some time…read more I let him do the research and find out exactly what he wanted and where. He had heard good things about this location. He sent an email out for a quote. He had good communication on the email and got a time set up. He got a confirmation of a time and scheduled to do the drop off. One small hiccup was that he got a second email not long after. The email came from a different individual trying to confirm the same information, and he thought it was a scam. He didn't answer the 2nd email because he had already confirmed everything through the initial emails and thought it was spam. He went to drop off the vehicle, and they had canceled his original appointment because he didn't answer that second email. Luckily, the gentleman behind the counter was great. He was able to get him in right around the same time frame, and we had no major problems. The husband discussed all the options, picked out what he wanted, and got it ordered. He was able to share options with my husband there in the store. He picked out the 15% in the back and 70% on the front. They let us know that they were only a couple of days out. That still worked fine for us. We got the call a couple of days later, and it was like taking a kid to the candy store. Hubby was so excited to see the tint on his car. He had been wanting this since he got the car. We got to meet Jen and the shop pup Jayla, who startled me when I walked in this time, but was happy for the pup love while we finished up paying. It ended up being about $540.00, which is what we budgeted for. Hubby had a coupon, but it was expired, but that's okay. They walked him through what he should and should not do for a certain amount of time. He still loves it. Thank you for everything.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst service experiences I've had…read more I called Chris at Gomex Locksmith and he came out to unlock my car. He was unsuccessful at getting it unlocked so he said he could order and cut me a new key. The kicker is he wants to be paid upfront by cash app. DO NOT Pay this guy. After he gets the money he will just start ignoring you! I paid Gomex Locksmith $240 for a replacement key and was told they would come out Tuesday 2/3/26. He was at my house 1/31 That turned into Friday. Then I was told the key had to be ordered from the factory and would arrive Saturday. Saturday came and went with no key, no service, and no follow-up. Every time I would call he would not answer and text hours or days later coming up with an excuse. After that, communication dropped off. I was eventually told I would receive a refund, but that still hasn't happened. So at this point I paid $240, received no service, no key, and no refund -- just delays and excuses for 3 weeks. I gave multiple chances to resolve this before posting. If you need a locksmith who shows up, communicates clearly, and follows through on what they promise, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Google review has a physical documentation but June 10 I ordered a service needed a special key…read moreevery single day I asked for a tracking number never was given promised on the 13th I was so annoying that he told me he would refund me because he was so busy and it seemed as if I didn't trust him. We relied on one more day at 7 PM to be at the physical location of where the car is at at 7:05 I was told there was more that needed to be sent over instead of him being there physically, which was the registration. The registration was in the car and he chose not to do anything. He took $208 for a lockout service. He didn't even get to see the car he never even unlocked the car and would not give a refund. These people are scammers.

BMW of Des Moines

I generally don't write reviews, but this experience absolutely deserves one…read more I purchased my BMW 850i from BMW of Des Moines and had an incredible buying experience thanks to my salesman, Ira Booker (who sadly is no longer with BMW). His passion for the brand and deep knowledge of BMWs was immediately apparent and made the purchase genuinely enjoyable. What truly sets BMW of Des Moines apart, however, is the service department -- specifically Ermin. As a business owner myself, I pay close attention to customer service, and Ermin is exceptional. He has a kind, easygoing demeanor and no matter how busy he is, he never seems annoyed or rushed. He always makes time, is genuinely happy to help, and treats us like valued customers every single visit. His communication during service is top-notch. We own two BMWs, and I feel like I'm at the dealership often -- whether it's for routine service, advice, or even something as simple as stopping by for air in the tires when it's cold out. Every time, Ermin takes care of us without hesitation and makes us feel completely at ease. In fact, our experience with Ermin was so positive that I sold my wife's car that we had just purchased from Hyundai of Des Moines due to a poor service experience there. I drove her straight to BMW of Des Moines and put her in her own BMW because I know Ermin will take care of us and our needs. The moment that truly sealed it for me: I called Ermin last minute to see if we could get both of our cars detailed for an upcoming wedding, as we had family in town and would be transporting them. Not only did he get us in immediately -- he gifted us the detail as a wedding gift. That level of thoughtfulness and care is rare. I love clean cars, I love my BMWs, and I love the BMW brand -- but more than anything, I appreciate people like Ermin. He consistently makes us feel like we're his only customer every time we pull into the service bay. BMW of Des Moines is lucky to have him, and customers like us are lucky to be taken care of by someone who truly goes above and beyond. Highly recommend. -Corey

Here we are at Friday. I contacted the business as per the reply to my original review. They had…read morefour days to return my call. I've received no response from BMW of Des Moines. BMW of Des Moines knows exactly who I am with the details provided and they have all of my contact information. If they truly cared and wanted to discuss this with me they would have reached back out. Original review text: We purchased a first car for my daughter from BMW of Des Moines a couple weeks ago. A 2014 Chevy Cruze LTZ for a sticker price of $6500 (124,000 miles). To be fair that's about what KBB lists it at too for retail price through a dealer. We had a really bad experience with Stivers buying a used car for my son and didn't want a repeat. I asked about the car history and both my salesperson (Chris) and (Calvin) a client advisor talked the car up. Had been traded in by a couple who almost kept it as a third car, but they changed their mind and decided to trade it in anyway... I asked if anything major happened within a week or so would we have any recourse. Chris said it's as-is, but they'd help us where they could with any major repair. They disclosed that it had an oil leak, but the oil pan had been replaced. When I test drove the car I was assured it had passed their safety inspection. The front brakes were making a little noise, but they assured me the brakes were safe. The front had 9mm on them and the rear had 7mm. Chris took the car around the lot to confirm what I was hearing from the front. He heard it too. About three days after getting the car home we noticed oil spots under the car. I assumed oil pan as that's where the leak appeared to be coming from. I called and left a voicemail for Chris (no response). I stopped in and was directed to talk to Tyler (Pre-Owned Operations). Tyler listened to me, but was pretty unresponsive. He nodded his head and the conversation was not a good one. Never once removed his sunglasses to look me in the eyes. It was obvious it was as-is and in my opinion he had no intention of helping in any way. Tyler did call me and tell me the repair was a valve cover and not an oil pan. I'm no mechanic. From the look of where the spots were (and Google) it appeared to be under the oil pan which I had been initially told was replaced. Under the engine compartment on the passenger's side. We took it to a mechanic and the problem is the oil cooler. The mechanic said the dealership had probably done what they said, but he also said when you fix a leak you fix it from the top down. After the first repair you wait and see if there are any more spots or oil that accumulates. In his opinion this wasn't done. He said from the oil in the engine compartment he was surprised we weren't seeing more on the ground than what we were. And he wasn't sure how the dealership missed that. The repair for the oil leak is going to be $2900. The front struts are leaking (another $700-$900). The brakes are safe, but the last person who changed them only changed the pads and not the warped rotors. The mechanic told us we could just drive it as is as far as the brakes go. They're technically "safe"...they're just going to make noise. I didn't have a big budget. That's why I was looking for a car in this price point for my daughter. I'm a US Navy veteran and a single dad. This was my 18 year old daughter's first car. I'm having to take a withdrawl out from my 401K to pay for the needed repairs. Another almost $4,000 (on top of the $6500 + taxes and fees and gap insurance) wasn't in the budget... With the repair costs we will have invested way more than this car is worth. She was really excited... Not so much now. Other than my first interaction with Chris there has been nothing good about this transaction. If you choose to buy a car here that does not have the manufacturer's warranty, in my opinion, I wouldn't trust them or their safety inspection.
