This is my favorite Sushi. The crystal shrimp roll is my all-time favorite. Great variety. AYCE allows you to try many things. Nigiri is nigiri and is good here. The rolls and hand rolls are so good. Never again. The pictures show what I got delivered through Doordash. If you can't do decent delivery then don't offer it. It was supposed to be a jalapeno bomb, salmon nagiri, an Olo, and Hot Night roll. The roll had a stale tempura shimp in it. Covered in whatever their sweet sauce is. I'm not sure where everyone else was eating when they posted their review but this place was tasty! The vibes were great, staff was friendly. This was our first time eating at IOU. I don't know why this place has so many bad reviews, the sushi is fresh and good. I seen some reviews of people getting their order and it's all tossed around due to delivery....cmon you bunch of whiners!!! That's not because of the establishment that's because of the delivery service! People with negative reviews wouldn't know what good sushi is even if it was served to them. I had the all you can eat at a decent price and the nigiri was good, nothing fishy, fish taste fresh. When I'm in town I'll definitely be back. Also, the sushi chef is super chill. read more

We have been looking for a good sushi place in Nampa so we don't have to drive to the Boise area but this was definitely not it! The rolls we ordered were laid out flat like little wheels on a plate. We have never seen that before and believe they do that because they cut the rolls so thinly and they want to make it look like you are getting a lot. You are not. You are paying the same price as you would going to Boise or Eagle for authentic sushi. The rice was dry and the other ingredients tasted old not fresh like sushi should be. read more

Absolute hands down Sushi place in Idaho!! We can't even begin to count how many times we have been to both the Nampa and Boise restaurants! They are super fun guys and have great memories! The Lumpia was good but the teriyaki chicken bowl is a hard past for the future. The chicken was tough and the dish overall was flavorless, two slices of untoasted. white bread with a slice of American cheese is a more satisfying meal. Steer clear of the food truck or you'll experience some instant regret before you get to the second bite. read more

Terrible experience today. The server took for ever to come to the table and didn't seem like she even cared we were there. Sushi took forever to get. Do. Not. Ever. Order. From. Here. We ordered two rolls and a house salad. Both of the rolls showed up completely ruined and in the SAME BOX. There was a huge blob of WASABI just laying next to my roll and the roll was COVERED in it beyond saving. I didn't even get to eat it. The other roll was ok but NOT worth 9.99. I have had better sushi at ALBERTSONS. My house salad showed up in a tiny box that was literally half full and browning. Not only did it look completely unappetizing and cheap, BUT it literally didn't even come with any sauce!? Great service and food if you're feeding cats. But that's about it. read more

I have been to sushi restaurants across the country. I also lived in CA, near the beach, for my entire life and have had sushi for many many years. I know what sushi is suppose to be and this place is absolutely one of the WORST sushi restaurants I have ever been too. DO NOT EAT HERE. We use to love this place. Unfortunately over the past few visits the service has gone down hill. I understand with covid and servers can be overwhelmed but it is absolutely ridiculous that I have to ask 3x for my toddlers meal and it never comes. I would rather pay more money at a different sushi place for my toddler to be able to have his meal then support this business. The servers just stand in the corner chatting away and ignore customers. We watched several people get up from their tables and bring their orders to the counter because the servers couldn't stop chatting and do their job. read more

Tried this sushi place for the first time. First we got 5 rolls. It cost us $55, the other place we frequent is much cheaper. I can look past the price at good sushi though. But this was not. You can tell it isn't sushi grade fish. The rice was falling off. My philly rolls (they call it Las Vegas) has almost no cream cheese or avocado. Like barely tell, I thought they were just salmon rolls. And then the part I can't get over. There were BONES in my sushi. I've been eating sushi for a decade and never once got a bone. I found 3!!! I normally will got to a place a second time before I decide if I like them or not. But the bones, that is a no no for me. Especially when I spent that much! read more

The worst food ever!! It's just a ton of rice and very little of anything else, shrimp tempura was gross not cooked and very thin slices of eel and avocado. They forgot about our edamame, so I got it to go and it was all moldy when we opened it. Order the Katsu chicken for my kid and it was cold. okay.... I went here last night to pick up takeout and was absolutely appalled at the lack of hygiene in a PANDEMIC. Over 600 new cases of COVID this week ALONE in canyon/ada county and the staff aren't wearing masks or gloves while preparing food? While serving the food? How is this place even open? The partially burned planter outside and the dry water feature in the entryway made the exterior feel somewhat neglected. If either feature was under construction or awaiting repair, a sign explaining the situation would have been helpful. The restrooms also appeared to need additional cleaning and had an unpleasant odor. My server was kind and friendly, but service was inconsistent. When I first got up to find her, I wanted to ask whether the restaurant offered beer or wine; unfortunately, it did not. Later, I had to walk toward the kitchen to request a to-go box and my bill. Since the restaurant was not busy and had only two occupied tables, I was surprised that there were not more frequent check-ins. Another employee near the front appeared focused on looking down and did not seem to notice whether customers needed assistance. I'm giving three stars for the tasty food, generous portions, and warm welcome. With more attention to cleanliness, upkeep, and customer service, this could be a much better overall experience.

I love this place! I recommend the tempura upside down shrimp! Everything seems fresh and you don't have to wait a long time. You can watch them make your sushi, and the all you can eat is only $25 a person. I had a really nice dark beer there too. Everyone is always friendly. Good sushi. Totally recommend Nampa IOU in the Edwards theatre/Home Depot plaza. Go hungry for all you can eat. We usually sit at the bar and eat and the guys are on top of things. They pump out the rolls faster than we can eat, and we can eat! $18 all you can eat lunch is a steal for good sushi. I think dinner is $26. Go hungry. Eat sushi. read more

After serving for them for many years, I have really high standards and expectations. I was very fortunate to have an uncle who took pride in his fish, sushi rice and the quality of his ingredients that he used to serve his customers. From the freshness of his tuna to how perfectly fried his tempura shrimp pieces were to the plates he used to serve his rolls, everything was perfection. With that kind of high standard ingrained in me, I expect other sushi joints to have that kind of standard as well. I showed up to the restaurant first. I was greeted by Bryan. He was also our server. I was told to sit anywhere I wanted so I picked a table by the wall. Bryan got my drink started while I was looking over the sushi list. Bryan did go over the list with me as well. It was my first time at this joint, never had all you can eat before so it was nice that he went over the dos and don'ts with me. I did get some miso and a salad started. It came out shortly so I worked on it while I was waiting for my homie to show up. The miso was some of the best miso I have had. It was nice and salty! It was hot! It had pieces of nori in it and a few bits of tofu. Delicious! The salad was cute and dainty. It came with a white sweet dressing. I'm glad the salad was part of the ayce. It was a pretty basic salad. It was ok. I couldn't imagine paying more than 2 bucks for it. It's amazing how much sushi joints charge for basic salad. Bagged lettuce with salad dressing could cost you 4 bucks, it's humorous. My friend finally showed up, we went through our sushi list, marked off the things we wanted and sent it off with Bryan. For my first round I grabbed the Idaho roll, inari and ebi. The Idaho roll was basically a Cali roll with cream cheese. It also had the same white sauce that came on the salad. Ya, it was pretty basic. The sushi rice had no acidity to it. I expected the sauce to be a little more exciting but it's salad dressing. I did dip it in soy, wasabi and spicy mayo to add a little flair to it. The inari was decent, it was a little dry. The ebi was super tiny and thin. It needed the rice to give it some volume. My second round was some kani sticks and the crystal shrimp roll. Kani (krab) is not all made equally. These kani sticks were dry and tough. I didn't notice how dry they were in the Idaho roll. The avocado and cream cheese helped with the dryness along with the dipping sauces. I didn't want my friend to get charged for it as a left over so I hard swallowed those two sticks down. The crystal shrimp roll is marinated fried crispy shrimp rolled in the nori and sushi rice. Crispy is probably a description they should leave off. There was nothing crispy about the fried shrimp. And it was cut into a bunch of tiny pieces. So you basically got a a bunch of tiny mushy pieces of shrimp in the middle of this roll. The Itty pieces of shrimp were falling out of the roll so it was annoying to eat. The second round of sushi wasn't all that impressive not that the first round really blew my socks off either. Ya, this was my first and probably last visit. Granted, the miso was off the hook and Bryan did a great job taking care of us but everything else was a flop. The sushi rice had no acidity to it. The ingredients were cheap. The owner came up and lost her lid on my friend cause he wanted no rice (sashimi style) with a few of his choices. "We have to charge you more". I guess they serve bigger slices of fish if you order it sashimi style. But why couldn't you have just given him the smaller pieces of fish that you serve for ayce? Why make it a big deal? I thought that was so unprofessional as an owner, to come up all aggressively and make it feel like you're trying to rip them off. All cause he didn't want rice. My aunt and uncle first of all took pride in their product so we would never do all you can eat. Second, no rice? No problem! You actually got an extra slice of fish if you didn't want the rice. Why make a fuss over something so simple? I have yet to find a sushi joint up meets all my of my expectations. I have found couple places in town that are decent but they have not made me crave it so bad that I needed it again. Sushi Ya is basic and overpriced. It's cool I got to try it but I'll pass on the next invite.
