    Brisket

Really good barbecue in Le Mars! Brisket was super lean and cooked perfectly, and the potato salad was really good as well. Prices were reasonable, service was quick and friendly, and the interior was well decorated and clean. Visit and put your pin in the visitor map after checking out the Wells Visitor Center!

This is horrible! So I have been dieing to go here for a year since I heard of it and read their talks about how good they are I have not found 1 place in the Midwest including cookoffs that have good BBQ. We finally are in the area so we get there there's yelling and screaming we can here in our car as we pull up. It's the same when we get inside. We stand at the counter for at least 5 mins before finally to teens maybe 15 or 16 show up to take orders. I ordered the Big ole platter $69 and a $5 piece of cornbread I threw the second tray away check the pic I posted with the meat bit off. Trat was full. Lets break this down the kid didn't tell the other what I ordered so we got small tray side while everyone else got the pints I asked if it was a pint in that tray he looked dumbfounded at the other kid and said nothing. Food: Cornbread so sticky and chewy it stuck to my teeth tasted like cake, while we ate I kept getting a rotted meat smell. Couldn't figure it out. I tasted the potatoe salad, so did the wife it tasted like it had dish soap in it. Burnt ends tastes literally burned and candied and cold! Mac and cheese was ok, next the chicken it was fairly good. Brisket dry even though it was greasy as could be and it smelled like old meat over the smoke the wife said it was tasted like a crockpot it did. The sausage he basically air fired in front of me was actually decent good flavor. Pulled pork was dry and crockpot flavor as well. The turkey was good as well except the end piece was dry. Went back for for brisket to see what was going on I picked up the stack of meat and the wife gagged the bad meat smell hit her hard when I moved the brisket. We dumped everything and left since kids were running the show and no where to be found I couldn't complain. I will never go back here and do not recommend even just for the chicken or sausage. Look for my pics. Also we felt sick all the way home! Forgot to mention the ribs had the same old meat smell as well like it had just started to go bad!

So I'm always excited try bbq all over the country . From the exterior I want this place to score well.. it's in a great location and relatively pleased to see the efforts that went into the decor. Well, I was greeted with the lackadaisical young men behind the counter. They could careless for a conversation or words period. Anyway I ordered a 1/4 of each brisket and pulled pork. So there was little to no smoke noticed in flavor for either meat. Maybe a really mild wood? Brisket was plenty tender and moist just lacked much in the flavor realm. Pork I didn't finish as it just tasted like pork zero seasoning. The bbq baked beans were fair to compete with any baked bean. Potato salad was my favorite thing on the tray. As for bbq sauces the Texas Heat appears to have had cumin and black pepper dumped in it for "heat". The other two sauces were sweet & super sweet. The meal cost me $38 dollars. I'll give it a 1.3 out of 10.

We shared 1/4 lb each of the brisket, pulled pork, house-made sausage and chicken with Mac & cheese and beans on the side

I was in Le Mars briefly for work and noticed this place as I was leaving town. Since my family and I love to seek out good barbecue we drove 2.5 hours to check it out and it was 100% worth the trip! The brisket melts in your mouth and the chicken was to die for, although it was all good! We'll be back!

    Barf.

I paid almost $20 for a meal and there was mold on my sandwich bun. Good thing I caught it otherwise I would've been eating that.... I hope you didn't serve moldy bread to anybody else! Do better!

Just passing through and decided to stop here for lunch. Wow. So glad we did. We had the pulled pork sandwich, the brisket sandwich and fries. All were excellent and made to order. The Texas heat sauce was our favorite. The brisket was smooth as budda.

Decent bbq. Came here after the lunch rush but food was hot and service was friendly. Worth a stop

FINALLY! We finally got some good barbeque from a brick and mortar! Not just good barbeque, but phenomenal barbeque! My wife was on call on Rig 1 in Le Mars yesterday, so I didn't want to risk grilling up some steaks and having her called out. So, after doing some laundry, we stopped byIowa Barbeque has the best brisket in Siouxland and last night was no joke! I specifically asked for the ends of the brisket and got a whole tray of them. Just look at that smoke ring! If that doesn't make you drool, nothing will! They were so juicy and succulent that I ate myself into a food coma! This brisket easily stays at the top of my list for best brisket in all of Siouxland!Hands down the best barbeque I've had in months!Iowa Barbequehas really stepped up their game! They did some tweaking to the ribs and a few of their sides and it shows! I've always saidIowa Barbeque last night were spot on! The meat was nice and tender with the perfect smoke ring. There was just the right combination of saltiness and smoke flavor. The meat pulled off of the bone with ease, yet it did not just fall off. You've seen me bitch about "fall off the bone" ribs. Those are overcooked! These ribs were cooked spot on! Each bite pulled off with ease. They ate like ribs should eat! No fork was needed! The bone is the utensil and each one was clean when done. Best brick and mortar ribs in Siouxland, hands down! When at a barbeque joint, you also have to get ribs. The ribs we got fromIowa Barbeque for Mac N' Cheese for lunch. She's pretty picky with her Mac N' Cheese and if she says that, you know it's good!My wife went crazy over her first bite of Mac N' Cheese! She loves good Mac N' Cheese andIowa Barbequegets it! The noodles were cooked perfectly and it was so very creamy! My wife just kept saying over and over that when she is on call in Le Mars that she sees herself just stopping intoIowa Barbeque comes in a close 2nd! I like my beans like my wife likes her Mac N' Cheese. The beans last night had big chunks of meat in them giving them both great flavor and a wonderful texture! They are a true Texas Style baked bean. They pack a little heat, so if you can't do spicy, you're going to want to steer clear. But, if you're like me and like a little kick, these beans are awesome!Kylie Q's BBQhas my favorite beans in Siouxland. However,Iowa Barbeque . They put out a true Texas Style BBQ!Just like the Anthon / Oto area, Le Mars has some real hidden gems! I am constantly seeing people ask if there is any good barbeque in Sioux City.Kylie Q's BBQandBIG RENE'S BBQ LLC.do a great job, but they're not set up all of the time. I'm shocked at how many people don't know aboutIowa Barbequein Le Mars. Seriously, people! You've got to get to Le Mars and tryIowa Barbeque , it would be their sauce choices. Fortunately, I'm not a big sauce guy, though. All of their meat choices are out of this world good! The staff is always friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have.Iowa Barbequehas not been around as long as some of the other cornerstone restaurants in Le Mars, but it is certainly doing its part with putting Le Mars on the culinary map! If I had one complaint aboutIowa Barbeque if you crave great BBQ. Not only will you not be disappointed, you will crave it! It's that good!Iowa Barbequehas both inside and outdoor seating. Their covered patio sets just adjacent to their huge smoker. The aroma itself will get you drooling! Get your butts up to Le Mars and check outIowa Barbeque

Make sure to watch their Facebook page for updates on when they will be open and when they are sold out for the day. They also will give you a preview of what the menu is for the day and what is upcoming. I hear the seafood that they do is amazing. I can't wait to be there for that sometime. If you're on historic fourth in downtown, Sioux City, you won't see a restaurant with this name. Look for the bar Major's and as long as they are serving, you have found your place! I did not get photos of the food this time because by the time we got our food it was about an hour after getting there (we were there 10 mins after they opened). The side salad was luke warm and the lettuce was welted. I would not order the side salad again. The amount of bacon bits on was very over powering so much I couldn't even finish it. Then they forgot my kids chicken strips and we were almost done before they brought them out, Ridiculous! Then when the bill came out they charged $3.50 for a soda that was included with a kids meal because "well we gave her a bigger size". Thats great I didn't ask you too. She still drank the same amount whether it was in a big glass or kids cup. They did take it off the bill which was nice. Then after paying the bill and got back to our friend's house we noticed they charged us for their appetizer, I should have done better checking over the bill so that was my fault I didn't check it better. After an hour and a half sitting there I was just ready to leave. Safe to say this place is delicious Philly Cheese steaks but the wait staff is hit or miss.

The decor and vibe of the restaurant was well done. Updated and well decorated. The waitress seemed put out we were there, unfortunately she was training another waitress, continuing to train the same bad habits. We had to wait about 10 minutes between each visit she paid to our table. There were a few times I had to get her attention or find her because she kept walking by our table without stopping or acknowledging us. The food looked good and tasted...okay. My wife got pulled pork which was not fresh. It was obviously re-heated from a prior day. Had a weird aftertaste. The best things were the buffalo spring roll appetizer and the milkshakes. The waitress did discount our order due to our dissatisfaction with the food. This was good customer service. The dirty trays were never removed from our table. The trainee could've easily done this since she was hanging out at the bar talking for most of the time. This isn't necessarily her fault. This is a training and management issue. This place should be packed every day it's open. It was less than half full when we were there for dinner. This is probably due to the bad things we experienced. Management needs to step up. You're robbing yourselves, your employees, your owner and your community of something good.

The two terrific places I'd normally recommend are both gone. Think of the Roadhouse as the new man standing and standing only because there isn't much else standing around it! Food is average to above average. Average selection of beer and wine. The service and staff are the weak links in the chain, and, ultimately, why I couldn't give this place a more than 'average' review. The 'bartenders' are anything but. I was a bartender and server for years. The female staff of this place are lazy and more interested in gossip than in their customers. The male members of the staff were busy throughout and seemed much more attentive to their job than worried about anything not related to it. Good for them! I wish one of the men here would have been my bartender rather than the two women who didn't know what Tabasco sauce is or the one who told me that they "just don't have a need to have it!" You're a bar/restaurant and you don't have a need for Tabasco sauce!? If it weren't so sad and true this would be comedic! Bottom line: I'd not go out of my way to come here again. I could recommend many other places to go to in or near this neck of the woods. The Roadhouse is doomed for failure on its current course of mediocrity in both food and service. It thrives now because there is not much else for competition. Once a new player arrives that offers excellent food, outstanding service and a truly welcoming atmosphere the Roadhouse is sure to find itself as a relic left in the dust rather than a prosperous and sought after place to satisfy even the most modest foodie. If I were the Roadhouse owner I'd heed warning and get first your staff under control and go from there. If not, they will surely be the iceberg to your Titanic.

It has a retail element, operating from a store front with a single picnic table outside for seating. But there is also a food truck outside the door, which anchors a catering business that goes beyond wedding and business functions to servicing sports events on campus. It should be emphasized that this is also a seasonal operation, with limited hours and a limited menu (Thursdays from 4 to 7 PM as we finish up September). The smoker works on a combination of corn cobs and hickory. We laid out $74 for a rack of ribs (14 bones), a half pound of chopped brisket, and double rations of baked beans, cheesy potatoes, and coleslaw. Even with the current rate of inflation, this struck us as pricey, especially because the value was uneven. Both meats were well prepared, in the sense of being moist and tender, but both lacked smoke. The brisket was noticeably salty, enough for us to advise those on a salt restricted diet to tread cautiously here. Happily, the rib meat had terrific taste in its own right; they serve it sauced, so if you want to have it dry, specify this when your order. As for the sides, the potatoes and baked beans were unremarkable, but the coleslaw is superb, and we strongly recommend that you try it with the ribs.
