    Buffet and sangria
    Janelle T.

First time visiting a Brazilian steakhouse and it was great. They recently remodeled from what we were told and it was a very nice atmosphere inside, clean neutral colors, small seating but cozy. Would definitely recommend making reservations. The wait staff was phenomenal, and food was amazing. Some of my favs from the night were bacon wrapped chicken, garlic sirloin, and skirt steak. The buffet had a great selection of options too. Highly recommended!!

I was in the mood for Brazilian bbq so decided to try this spot while out there for work. When I arrived I parked in their lot. I walked in and sat at the bar. Kaycie was my bartender/server. I started with the red sangria and it was tasty. For my meal I got the seafood paella. They gave me a salad first and it was good. When the paella came out it was huge. I dug in and it was very tasty. The only downfall was the clams were a bit rubbery. The scallops and shrimp were great though. The bill was about $50. All in all I had a good experience.

Show up hungry, don't bother to order anything to eat other than the cavalcade of meat (aka Rodizio), and sip on some sangria.

Ask the Community - Ipanema Grille

Are they still open? I stopped by Friday 7/2 around 5:05 pm and there was one pickup in the parking lot and the place was closed with no lights or any appearance of preparation to open for the evening.

Yes they are still open and as good as always!

    Do they offer gift cards?

Yes, and they have a loyalty rewards program.

Does a time know how much the buffet Is? And is there only meat on it?

The buffet is mostly side dishes and breads, cheeses, etc. The rodizio is a tableside service where the meat is cut and out in your plate.

We were able to make a reservation, and the restaurant was kind enough to extend our reservation when we were delayed -- especially on one of their busiest nights of the week. Maria was exceptionally nice and helpful in making reservations. Food was delicious and enjoyable throughout all the courses. The Picanha and Beef Short Ribs were my favorites of the Rodizio. My parents split a steak entree and the salmon - the restaurant was kind enough to split both entrees on two plates for each of them. Both servings were generous. Had an Old Fashioned and a Caipirinha - both were excellent. They also have an extensive wine and whiskey menu. Service was pretty good. I would say the only hiccup was the food took forever to come, which seems strange for Rodizio. But I attribute the delay to the tardiness of two folks in our party, and a little inexperience of our server. But aside from that, he did a good job. We got to meet the manager Tatiana, who was fabulous - you can tell she cares about her craft, and the owner Joe, who was exceptionally kind and friendly. My niece and his son apparently went to the same school, so it was truly nice to make the acquaintance. I love to support small business, and it doesn't get better than this. I will make sure to stop here again soon - this was a fantastic experience.

One could spend hours looking at the incredible shadowboxes, model trains, war memorabilia, movie displays, model ships, etc, not to mention the Dunder Mifflin gift shop! The food, however, is another story. The menu is large and varied and has some delicious appetizers (particularly the Bang Bang Srimp and the Crab Balls--addictive) and entrees too, but the very pricey stars of the menu leave much to be desired. The "Just Seafood" entree looks mouthwatering by description and costs forty effing dollars, but I'm being completely honest when I tell you everything on that plate was drier than a popcorn fart. The dish comes with shrimp, scallops, and lump crab meat. The best thing on the plate was the THREE scallops they provided. The crab was genuinely the worst, driest crab I've ever had. Worse than low-quality frozen snow crab at Red Lobster or the grocery store. The shrimp was overcooked and pathetically seasoned with a light sprinkle of paprika (which fell mostly on one shrimp and none of the others). I had to salt my own food at the table because everything was flavorless. All in all, if you're in Scranton because you like The Office, stop here and have some CHEAP starters and drinks, grab some cool Dunder Mifflin merchandise at the gift shop, and enjoy all the awesome art they have at Coopers. Pay no mind to their expensive seafood, it sucks. Service: the waitstaff are lovely, friendly and attentive. They're great and deserve praise!

I was thinking the experience should be good since it should be more personal than that other hit-or-miss big chain Brazilian Rodizio. I was wrong. The decor was nice but the waiting area was oddly situated where people could be in the way of the food coming out of the kitchen. We were seated at the far end of the main dining hall. My 2nd son and I ordered the Rodizio. My wife and daughter ordered the Picaña steak, my eldest son had the Skirt steak. The first three Rodizio choices came out early. They were the chicken wing, the sausages and a BBQ Ribeye. The chicken and sausages were flavorful. The BBQ Ribeye was dry. Then, the other steaks came out. They did take awhile. They were supposed to be medium rare. My wife was medium, close to medium well. But, we were so hungry, we let it slide. Her steak was was under seasoned. Meanwhile, the Rodizio meats weren't making to our table. 10 mins passed since the last meat received and nothing came by. We'd see tables closer to the entrance and behind us receive the steaks on the skewers or the grilled pineapple, but not us. What kept on coming by were the chicken and the sausages again. There was a lamb brisket, that passed by. I tried it, it was bland and dry. I complained to the waiter about not getting any good meats. To his credit, he did say he'll do his best to get some to come. A manager came by and apologized and said that they were busy and they're trying to get them out as soon as possible. Another 10 mins and only shrimp came by. While the shrimp was being served, we saw a brand new batch of picaña come out and served to the table right next to us (who were just seated). Then, my table was skipped. It never circled back. I asked the waiter what's going on and mentioned about the Picaña skewer. He apologized again and said that he'll do something about it. But what was coming by us were the same chicken and sausages. We were almost two hours into our dining and still no good meats coming by. By then, I had enough and just asked for the bill. The waiter could tell I was far from pleased. By the time I signed the check, the Picaña and skirt Steak showed up. I tried them just for the heck of it. They were well done and dry. Afterwards, we stood up and left. $340 down the drain. No effort from management to try to appease a disappointed customer. We left utterly frustrated. If it weren't for our waiter who was doing his best, this place would have gotten a one star. Never coming back to this place.

We opted for the Best of Brazil special, which was $54 per person and included select meats, access to the Market Table, and a few hot sides (mashed potatoes, sweet plantains, and polenta fries). Since the main value of a Brazilian churrasco experience is the meats, we didn't spend much time on the sides or salad bar. Service was kind of a mixed experience. When the meat service started, it seemed like it came nonstop. It felt like we couldn't clear space on our plates before another skewer arrived. Obviously, we could have said no, but perhaps we were too excited to try everything at once. Then suddenly the flow slowed down significantly. It seems like all the meats are ready and going out at the same time and then there's a lull. A more staggered, consistent pace would have been better. At times, it was difficult to track down a server when we needed another drink or were ready to pay the bill. Also, we had to track someone down for chimichurri sauce for the meats. I was confused as to why the sauces wouldn't be put at the market table for us to get as needed. I'm sure many people weren't even aware that there were sauce options. There seemed to be periods where staff were hard to find, which was frustrating given that the restaurant wasn't especially busy. As for the food, most of the meats were just okay. Unfortunately, many cuts were overly salty, and none stood out as memorable. After sampling nearly everything, there wasn't a single meat I felt compelled to finish or order again. Actually, the standout items of the night was the grilled cheese with honey and the cheese breads, which were delicious--but that's not exactly what you're hoping to rave about at a Brazilian steakhouse. Another note - We ran into friends dining in a different section of the restaurant and sat with them for a bit. Their experience was noticeably different from ours. The meat service in their section was much slower, with less variety coming around, and they got the more expensive experience. One person at the table repeatedly requested pork belly and waited quite a while before eventually receiving a plate of the requested meat. At another point, a person came over with a sirloin, offered it to one person and ignored the rest of the table. They tried to flag him down but were unsuccessful. It made me wonder whether the experience varies depending on where you're seated in the restaurant. Also, you really begin to lose track of the meats so when you pay more for a larger selection you really need to make sure you are getting those additional meats at your table. By the end of our meal, we spent about $90 per person with 2 drinks each, tax, and tip. I didn't feel the value matched the price. I also felt bad about the amount of food that went uneaten. With this style of dining, if you receive a cut you don't enjoy, there's only so much you can eat before food ends up wasted. For me, this was a finer one-time experience, but not somewhere I'd return. If I'm spending that kind of money for meat, I'd rather visit a quality steakhouse, enjoy a great steak, and even have leftovers for the next day. While the restaurant itself is attractive and the concept is fun to try once, the food wasn't memorable. Overall, I'd rate it 3 out of 5 stars. Had my experience mirrored what I observed in the other section, the rating would have been 2 stars.
