Buffet and sangria
Janelle T.

First time visiting a Brazilian steakhouse and it was great. They recently remodeled from what we were told and it was a very nice atmosphere inside, clean neutral colors, small seating but cozy. Would definitely recommend making reservations. The wait staff was phenomenal, and food was amazing. Some of my favs from the night were bacon wrapped chicken, garlic sirloin, and skirt steak. The buffet had a great selection of options too. Highly recommended!!

I was in the mood for Brazilian bbq so decided to try this spot while out there for work. When I arrived I parked in their lot. I walked in and sat at the bar. Kaycie was my bartender/server. I started with the red sangria and it was tasty. For my meal I got the seafood paella. They gave me a salad first and it was good. When the paella came out it was huge. I dug in and it was very tasty. The only downfall was the clams were a bit rubbery. The scallops and shrimp were great though. The bill was about $50. All in all I had a good experience.

First time eating here. Got the seafood dish with scallops, shrimp, clams and rice. Very delicious. Generous portion. Will definitely visit again.

Delicious! Meat comes out regularly, not too rushed. Salad bar is fresh. Vegetables are perfectly cooked Al dente. Mashed potatoes are real!!!!! I would come back here in a heartbeat next time in Scranton, PA

I'm going to be blunt and short. Oh hell yes to this place. For two of us with a pitcher of their delicious famous sangria. 150 with the tip and it was a meat festival. Green means go red means stop. You'll have to go to see what I mean

Very good. Not cheap, but very good. My wife doesn't eat a lot of meat so she orders a dinner, I go for buffet and unlimited meats.

Ask the Community - Ipanema Grille

Are they still open? I stopped by Friday 7/2 around 5:05 pm and there was one pickup in the parking lot and the place was closed with no lights or any appearance of preparation to open for the evening.

Yes they are still open and as good as always!

Do they offer gift cards?

Yes, and they have a loyalty rewards program.

Does a time know how much the buffet Is? And is there only meat on it?

The buffet is mostly side dishes and breads, cheeses, etc. The rodizio is a tableside service where the meat is cut and out in your plate.

While there were definitely highlights, I found myself a bit disappointed as well. First off, the ribs were a standout in terms of taste; they were tender and flavorful, literally falling off the bone. However, they arrived in a pizza box, sitting on foil, and were ice cold. I believe they would have retained more warmth if they had been wrapped in foil or placed in a proper takeout dish. Given that it was only a half rack, it should have fit comfortably. On the brighter side, the mashed potatoes and gravy were as delightful as always. Every time I order them, they're consistently delicious. The turkey and roast beef platters were also warm and tasty, which I appreciated. However, I couldn't shake the feeling of being misled by the portion sizes. It seemed like they were trying to create an illusion of abundance by stuffing four slices of bread under the meat. This wasn't just the case with the turkey platter; the same trick was used for the roast beef platter. When I ordered, I explicitly declined the bread option, thinking I was getting a straightforward platter, not an open-faced sandwich. Instead of a generous serving, I felt like I received less meat than I expected, masked by the hidden bread. So, while I enjoyed the flavors, I can't ignore the feeling of being a bit deceived. I'm left uncertain about my next order. Perhaps I'll reach out to them directly to discuss my experience. I understand that times are tough, and the costs of ingredients, especially meat, can be challenging, but I can't help but feel a bit fooled and/or misled by all the slices of bread under both the Turkey & Roast Beef meat (4/5 slices under each pile of meat, for each platter! Please see the evidence in the pictures I uploaded) I cannot comment on the ambience because I had my food delivered to me!

The food we had was amazing (burgers, salmon, and some other things I'm forgetting from my table, I had a burger). The cocktails were also very nicely crafted. The service was great. Our plans before were running long but luckily their reservation policies were flexible enough that I had no problem moving my time, even on such a busy day. The restaurant was POPPING when we arrived around 4:30. We were seated promptly. The only downside to our experience was that the table was SUPER shaky and wobbly. We asked our waitress for a shim or piece of paper to steady the table but she informed us it was the table head itself, not the legs, so nothing could be done. I was not thrilled about this but assumed that these were tables they hauled out of storage to accommodate the holiday demand, so I can understand. Our server was very warm and friendly despite the chaos. Prices are on the high side but the quality is good and the portions are large. I went for the lobster cobb which was a special and it was LOADED with lobster meat. They really heaped it on. A little light on the avocado, but overall it was really wonderful. My mother went for a seafood scallop risotto which I also tried. It was creamy and flavorful. Our food came out in a reasonable timeframe, and our server was good about getting our check. One thing I really liked was that they put which dishes on the menu are over 500 calories, and most were under. A lovely, healthy dining choice with a nice ambiance. I'd return!

We got the Korean dumplings which were very good with Asian zing sauce on them. We also got their nachos which were soggy towards the bottom but had good flavor with bbq sauce and pulled pork. Now they don't offer pulled pork sandwiches but have pull pork on the nachos. My fish and chips were soooooo salty! The tartar sauce was good and French fries. The breading was also soggy but the fish was very tender and nice. The chicken cheesesteaks were good, filling and yummy. The Ale Burger is a double smash burger with good flavor, and a good meal. The Buffalo Mac and cheese was spicy but enjoyable. The service wasssss slow and not very attentive. The manager had to come over and ask if we needed anything bc our server seemed to disappear. I believe it's new owners which explains the menus cut in half, but I hope they get things together bc this spot is super cool. Speak easy, cool hangout spot.

The service was slow, but once we were greeted our drinks and food came out quickly. The inside is spacious, it's in an old building dating back to the mid to late 1800's. The high ceilings and metal work inside gives an old industrial feel. The menu had a lot of tasty choices and the beer menu was fantastic. The list of the handhelds/sandwiches is too long to list, but I could have ordered any of them. They have over 100 small and large craft/international beers in bottles or cans and around 20 taps. I had a couple cans of delicious Russian River/WeldWerks collab Convivial which is a hazy imperial IPA. My wife really enjoyed their Buffalo Chicken Flatbread 13.95 - popcorn chicken, house wing sauce, cooper cheese, blue cheese, scallions. It was more than a serving, sizable and fresh. The flavors were balanced and outstanding. I had the Bison Cheesesteak 16.95 - Chipotle bison, pepperjack, bacon chutney, mushrooms, chipotle aioli, toasted hoagie roll. The flavors were balanced, roll was fresh, the serving was large and it was pretty darn good. The meat had a hot dog/pork pate taste. My 5 year old son ordered grilled chicken street tacos 13.95 - Pico de gallo, jalapeno sour cream, queso. Choice of grilled chicken or beef. It came with three and he ate half. We all had a bite and agreed they were fresh, easy to handle and had a delicious mix of flavors, especially the chicken and cheese. My other son had the House Grilled Cheese 9.95 - Boursin, pepperjack, & cooper cheeses on grilled brioche. He enjoyed it, but said it was a little spicy. Although they lacked a "kids menu" my guys found something they enjoyed. The inside was family friendly and they were treated well by the staff. We thought Ale Mary's was a great gastropub and will absolutely repeat when we are back in Scranton. Thanks guys!
