    Pint I had with dinner
    Lorene M.

Dropped in to check out My Father's Moustache on James Island. I had heard good things about it from friends so felt like giving it a try. My Father's Moustache has an old English Pub atmosphere and offers both English and Irish cuisine. They have an extensive selection of beers (Draft, bottles and cans) as well as whiskey. This is such a unique place! Really lives up to the pub reputation with billiards, darts, shuffleboard and more. The food was also excellent. I had the fish and chips with French fries and crisp, sweet coleslaw. So good! I had a nice pint of beer to compliment my dinner. This is a fun place to hang out with friends and enjoy this unique pub experience. I would recommend My Father's Moustache and plan to return.

Second time is a charm. Expecting Tennents ale (Scottish!), we were not disappointed as we sat at the lengthy bar which faces 4 large TVs (unfortunately, closed captioning was not on) with various sports channels on. Quick, attentive service by two of the outgoing and friendly staff with little waiting. The "British BLT" (see photo) was on sourdough bread (a bit chewy on the edges) with delicious Applewood bacon, tomato, and a rosemary aoili which was like a thinner, tastier mayonnaise but with the distinct but muted rosemary. Still 5 stars and frankly with Tennents, we assuredly will return. Soon!

We like this place. Their food is very good. am French onion soup was on point. We also got the pretzel with rarebit which came out all the light yoga Matthews kind of text tired of me that go out with Casey today. I don't know the words you're using right now or it's cold fuck in here too HOT! Be careful cuz these two items will burn you. The Irish stew didn't have any meat it was disappointing. Almost like the cook didn't stir the pot and just grabbed the ladle to pour out some broth. My English Breakfast was not great this time. The food was not great this time. We came on a Sunday last time and it was amazing. They are definitely short staffed and I get that but the food was not as good as the last time we came here. Maybe the next time will be different.

Thursday. Fish and chips and a pint for $20? Heck yeah! Sign me up

Cool place. It's changed over the years but it's ok. Kind of place you go back to because of what it is. It's not a fancy Mt P restaurant (it isn't Savi). But it isn't trying to be. It's a pub. Three of us had dinner and beers for little over $20 per person. Unless you are going to McDonalds how do you do that ? 5 guys will run you $20 per and that is without beers (100%worth it ). There is good and not so good here. Fish and chips is good. Use to be 2 smaller pieces you could eat w your hands. Now it's one big one. Becuse of the size now you realize the breading is too greasy. The surprising thing is the fish is not. It is really good. Not bland and not overly greasy. Fries are as good as any you have had. Daughter likes the Sheppards Pie and the Bull Dog. Tater tots are also a must try.

I visited My Father's Moustach on James Island today. Really enjoyed the food and the wide variety of beers they offer (draught, bottles, cans). If you prefer mixed drinks, they have a full bar, with a large selection of whiskeys. This is a one-of-a-kind pub. The restaurant serves both English and Irish dishes. I tried the Sheppards Pie, and it was delicious. Both creamy and flavorful. This place offers a pub atmosphere with darts, billiards, shuffleboard, and more. If you're looking for a fun time while enjoying great food and drinks, I would recommend you give My Father's Mustache at try!

Perfect afternoon stop on a rainy day. Cozy vibe, friendly service from John, relaxing music and comfort food. My husband and I split a bowl of the best baked potato I've ever had, followed by the creamy, delicious Bulldog on perfectly crisped sourdough. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Very nice renovated space! Excited to have them here on James Island! We started with fried pickle chips and then had a burger and a BLT. The burger was absolutely delicious-perfectly sized and cooked. The BLT was also good, though I'm wishing I had ordered the burger. The bartender was excellent-friendly, on top of things though they were very busy. I am looking forward to returning again soon!

Bit of an identity crisis going on here. Not a dive bar, not upscale, not a true English style pub either. But, not bad at all. Food we tried was good, service was friendly, and the space is open. No live music planned according to the staff which seems odd for the amount of room they have. It did seem a bit loud in there so don't come for a quiet drink. Probably better for groups and happy hour.

Bangers and mash - 5 star delicious

The evening we were here there was an actual singer/guitar/bouzouki/ banjo player who really is Irish! Fantastic performance and the sound system was way above what you might expect in a small establishment like this. Impressive. The ambience was friendly and festive, and though many were clearly there for socializing and not as attentive in listening to the music as we were, it did not take away from our enjoyment of it! The crowd did eventually get engaged enough with several songs to dance and sing along. As expected the Guinness was tasty and it was well poured, but the surprise was the food was really quite good. A bit of an Irish pub theme with "bangers and mash" ( grilled sausages over mashed potatoes) and the chicken curry were quite tasty and filling at a fair price. One of the wait staff was sick so the staff was a bit harried and behind when the unexpectedly large crowd arrived for the music, but it all got sorted out and they remained friendly and attentive through it all. I personally love the menu, but there are few vegetarian options, and not much in the way of salads and such. It is early yet, and as the kitchen matures and the work gets out to the locals I expect the menus will develop more options in this area. But we will definitely plan a return trip here!

Not very good for consumer planning My friend said the fish and chips were good. There was only one person there working and it was lunchtime. The service was good, although slow. We enjoyed the cocktails and beers we had. They've got a nice stage so I'm assuming there's live music as well. We got up there and played around a bit, and the bartender had a fun time laughing at us. Maybe with a constant happy hour menu, we will try it out again!

It was easy & we loved our lunches! I chose the double smash burger which was so delicious and filling! Loved it! Hubs chose the Cobb chicken salad and he loved it! Ate every bite & reports that the chicken was fried perfectly without too many clumps or batter lumps. We would absolutely come back for brunch items! Cool things: the bathroom wallpaper was epic, outside they have a water cooler with cups for self help access & a dog bowl for those who bring their pups. Loved that!

A group of about 8 of us went out for drinks Saturday (5/2/26). We were having a great time (respectful, quiet, not causing a problem). Last call hit at 1:30 so we decided one more drink before we went our ways home. 10 mins later we're were asked to leave the courtyard and head inside - not a problem. We will finish our drinks inside. 5 minutes after that, we were asked to take our last sips and leave. 15 mins before the posted closing time. Again, we weren't causing a problem, weren't loud, weren't disruptive. This was a group of 8, most of us well into our 40s (or older). But they were telling all guests to leave at 1:45a?? Just after we bought drinks? The posted hours say they close at 2a. Not 1:45a. Most of us left half finished drinks. The large bouncer was nice enough, the tiny one in a hoodie with glasses was totally unprofessional. So beware. The Blind Tiger has what it takes to remain a Charleston institution. Their staff, might ruin that chance.
