The worst optometry clinic I have ever visited. The doctor appeared completely confused and did not seem to know what was going on with her patients. The front desk staff member was extremely rude and unprofessional to everyone. I received no resolution or treatment for my eye concerns. Instead, they repeatedly asked me to return for additional exams. The first visit cost $95, followed by hundreds of dollars more with no clear explanation or progress. The clinic was disorganized and chaotic. The front desk employee repeatedly called me by the wrong name, listed the wrong insurance, and showed no awareness of who I was. This level of care is unacceptable and potentially dangerous when it comes to eye health. I will never return. read more

My wife had a sudden eye issue, so we went to Iris Bright Optometry in the morning since they accept walk-ins. The office was clean, the staff were kind, and the doctor was friendly. After the exam, she was referred to another provider for advanced care, which we hoped to visit later that day. Iris Bright did not send the exam report to NVISION, which was quite disappointing to discover during our visit there. The NVISION doctor didn't know what was going on, so we had to repeat the exam. Before leaving, the staff recommended an eye drop called Regener-Eyes, costing $85 for just 3ml, and suggested we buy three bottles. It confused me, since we were going to see a specialist the same day -- and the specialist would definitely prescribe something appropriate for advanced care. I only bought one, and it turned out to be useless and a waste of money. At NVISION, we asked three different doctors about it, and they all told us the same thing: Regener-Eyes is not a prescription medication and not helpful for her condition. The primary doctor even said, "Forget about the prescription you got in the morning -- I'll give you the new ones." We appreciated the quick care, but please don't try to sell costly products that aren't truly helpful to the patient. read more

We took our son for ortho-K treatment last January. Our son's vision was around -3.0 at that time. We were promised he w I uldny need to wear glasses after a couple of weeks of wearing these lenses and we bought it. Waited a little over 4 weeks for the ortho-K lenses to arrive. Then after 2-3 weeks we went back and not much changed. Ok, we continue using it and my son gets some retina abrasions from it. They say its our fault and we buy some lubricants, take concentrated D3 oil and continue. A month later his vision is now +1.25. We were told he had astigmatism and the vision is now farsighted. WTH, couldn't you tell from the beginning that this was going to be the case? If we knew we wouldn't have even gone with it. We decided to just use it until the year end and ended up stopping after 10 months. Total wasted ~$2500-2800 including the 1yr treatment, initial exam, expensive lubricants, lens cleaning solutions, vitamins. Now we are just waiting for my son to turn 16+ so that we can just go with lasik. We should've just saved us a lot of headache, time and money were we told in the beginning that this was not going to work out the way they sold it. SO BEWARE, YMMV. read more

I had issues with one of the pharmacies that they use for steroid drops. If you pay the cash price ($70), I imagine this pharmacy does fine. In my case, I needed preauthorization for my BlueShield PPO plan for this non-generic medicine. I had to babysit this process with 5 or so phone calls to the store and pharmacy over a few weeks. It should not be that hard. The pharmacy never communicated that preauthorization was denied and never helped get me a generic alternative. I just gave up and eventually left a review on Yelp. After my Yelp review, the store manager called me and called in a generic alternative to my CVS pharmacy. My main dissatisfaction is with the pharmacy the store uses for this particular medicine and the lack of communication for preauthorizations and generic options for those of us that do not want to pay the cash price. read more

I had a couple of bad experiences with this Lencrafters aka Iris Bright Optometry. I had just moved to the area and needed a new perscription for contacts and also purchased glasses from this place. The service from most of the staff was really not good, from the wait time to answering questions it seemed like no one knew what they were doing. I was charged twice by the staff and had to wait days for the refund. My first contacts perscription ended up being wrong and I asked to return the unopened/unused contacts I had purchased but was at first told that was not possible. My glasses were also inadequate and the lenses squeaked as if they were going to pop out easily, despite being a good brand it seemed like it was just the lenses not being insertinserted securely. Then called again days later to confirm if i couldnt actually return or exchange my faulty items and they said to come back in for another appointment. The same doctor did my appointment again and said it probably was an issue with new staff members, that's why I had conflicting messages about not being able to return or exchange my contacts. The most unprofessional part was at the end of the appointment she pulled up my Yelp review and proceeded to go through each line and argued/defended the bad impression and service I received on my first visit, despite nothing being false. She really pressured me to change my review and in order to receive the refund/exchange for the contacts and not wanting to lose out, I obliged but knowing I'd never come back again. Unfortunately the new contacts that I received were not the correct perscription again, and now getting a new perscription from another optometrist I can see why. They luckily exchanged my glasses as well but again the lenses were not secure and it really was a waste of money and trouble for both lenses and glasses here. This place is located inside LensCrafter at Los Olivos Marketplace. I had scheduled an appt at 3pm but I arrived at 2:45pm. It starts out with filling out a couple of pages of paper work. After that, my Eyewear Consultant Miguel took me in the back and did the preliminary eye exam. He asked me a lot of questions and also answered all my questions. He was very thorough. After he was done, he turned me over to Dr. Jasper Cheng. Dr. Cheng was very pleasant. He too, asked me a lot of questions and listened to all my concerns and was very caring. He also did a very thorough job with my exam explaining everything to me using the latest & greatest equipment and all my options for my glasses. After I was done with Dr. Cheng, a very helpful girl named Kat helped me order the glasses that I wanted. I already knew what glasses I wanted so that part of the process wouldn't take long...I didn't have to try on a bunch of different frames. I was all done by 4pm. Overall experience was very good and I would definitely recommend this place. read more

From the moment you walk in, the front staff were very welcoming. The office manager Khiem performed the pre-work up very thoroughly. He gave clear instructions and warnings for what each test would do. He also made sure I was comfortable during each test and provided adequate re-cleaning of each machine to ensure my safety. Then I was able to meet with Dr. Cheng who was very professional and easy to communicate with. He was able to address my concerns and interests for the visit. In addition to providing a thorough eye exam, he explained all results, things to look out for, and how to ensure proper eye care. My husband came here first and highly recommended it so I gave it a try and made an appointment with Dr. Clara Chang last Oct (2020). WOW... Dr. Chang and Khiem have their bedside manner on point! From start to finish (including follow ups) I was super impressed with the level of professionalism, care, and knowledge I experienced...It's obvious she is passionate about optometry. They have the latest technology/equipment so I got to see video of my eyes while she explained everything which was incredibly helpful and really cool to see. The facilities are clean and the staff are all friendly and helpful. I had two minor procedures done with Dr. Chang and she was very gentle, patient, and thorough. Came here for an eye exam and assessment for dry eyes. The staff was very friendly and kind. Dr. Chang was efficient but spared no details in explaining the health of my meibomian glands and discussing preventive measures. Dr. Chang is very knowledgeable and stays on top of new developments n her field. She is the first optometrist I've had who took the time to explain contact lenses care including which contact lense solutions and brands may work best for my eyes and lifestyle. Made an appointment for basic vision exam which would cost me $10 based on my insurance. Had the tests done and when it came to the payment, it turns out my appointment type was changed to "comprehensive vision exam" which was $50. The assistant did not bother to ask me if I wanted to do a comprehensive exam at the beginning of the appointment nor does it say anywhere on my appointment confirmation that I booked a comprehensive eye exam. I tried to talk to the manager about the situation and he got defensive and said that I was not probably listening properly when his assistant told me about the exam payment. I told him there was no such talk about the payment or questions about upgrading the type of exam. He ultimately gave me 2 options; one was paying $50 and getting my prescription and exam results or cancelling the appointment altogether and not get my prescription after spending over an hour at their office. Why do I have to suffer the consequences for their assistant's mistake? Be sure to verify and confirm your vision exam type and out of pocket costs prior to your session since the people here do not have a honest practice! read more

Came here experiencing Interior Uveitis that they failed to diagnose and told me I needed to "blink more and I wouldn't look like I was flirting". They could have actually helped to prevent a possible virus that attacked my eye but the woman didn't listen to me. I and my son enter this place with no appointment on Jan. 2, 3:40 p.m.and ask the front desk when is their earliest time. They told me that we could do 4:30, so I waited. During section with the doctor, because her time is running out, she told me to wait for her to finish the section with my son and another patient and continue the section with me later. Right after I left her office, her assistant told me that she wouldn't see me again for today and told me to pay. I was confused for a bit, but I realized she was lying to me when we were in her office. I was very mad because she wasted my two and a half hours of New Year holidays time and asked me to leave. It is their mistake on schedule, but they are asking me to make up this mistake telling me to come back another day. My opinion is that she told me to my face to wait for her, but a minute after the doctor turned back to her office, her assistant told me that would not see me again. She could tell me that she could not me again at first instead of lying. When the doctor's assistant told me that she would not be coming back to see me, I was so surprised and confused that in the moment I chose to believe what the doctor told me personally. But when the doctor came out and saw me waiting for her outside the office, she was very emotional and yelled at me that my mother was dying in the hospital. I was even more surprised, I don't know her mother's situation, but why didn't she tell me in person? Why did she choose to lie and let the assistant tell me? Why is she yelling at me when I'm her patient? I said you can leave to see your mother, but you first tell me why you did this, but she still lost her temper, and in the end, I could only leave angrily. read more

Very thorough eye exam performed here, all using state-of-the-art equipment including Optomap for retinal imaging. Friendly & welcoming front desk staff. The tech (Jordan?) and Dr. Abdali were knowledgeable, professional & caring, taking their time with me and patiently answering all my questions. No rushing at all - my exam took around 90 min. Friendly price too. The office (inside Lenscrafters) is super clean, comfortable & modern. Plenty of parking at Los Olivos Marketplace. We came to iris bright optometry thinking that it was LensCrafters with that reputation. My husband had lost his glasses and we needed a new pair and got an exam. During the exam he had to redo a part that aggravated his eyes over 5 times on each eye. That evening he became violently ill with vertigo. We were concerned that the prescription might be different so we checked it with his past optometrist and it was completely incorrect. We called the company back and they were unwilling to compromise and insisted we pay full price $91 for this exam which had impacted his vestibular system causing vertigo and the prescription was completely incorrect.
