This is a clean bar/restaurant with lots of TVs. We came here to watch some of The Masters. I ordered a banana bread old fashioned. Good, not amazing. I started with a loaded cup of potato soup. It's like mashed potato soup with potato chunks and loaded with onions, bacon, and cheese. Really good! I added a Buffalo hot sauce to it and it was even better. I also ordered the onion rings. I thought these were "just ok". Not bad, but wouldn't order again. My Husband got the boneless wings tossed in Nashville hot sauce. Chef's kiss!!! So good! He also ordered the fries. Well - don't bother trying to go for the Sunday brunch unless you're into Bingo. Seriously , its microphone is so loud it's not like you can ignore it and enjoy the brunch. We were excited to partake in the advertised brunch with mimosa and bloody Mary bar and were so stunned to walk in to loud bingo numbers being called out through a loud microphone! Couldn't turn around and leave fast enough. Nowhere in all we read ever said anything about Bingo occurring during the advertised Sunday Brunch. Huge FAIL! read more

We had a great first experience at Irish Tavern and intend to go back. Passing by this place is always packed, so we opted to stop in. The server was helpful and got us signed up for a loyalty program to get $10 off our next time in. The gravy on the biscuits & boxty was a highlight. Homemade without being starchy like some gravy is. I had the cobb salad. It was good, the chicken was a bit dry. I have to begin by saying the best part of my meal here, was the ambiance for someone's birthday party during karaoke night. I may be a tad biased, but the moment we said we didn't want alcohol our waitress bailed and pretty much forgot about us after taking our water/iced tea order; we only received the water. We had ordered the pretzel with beer cheese for an appetizer and two cups of the French onion soup and our entrees were two different boxty meals. We never received the appetizer and when it finally arrived, the soup and meals followed within seconds. So, we went from being completely overlooked to flooded with food all at once. Overall, the soup was tasty and the pretzels were piping hot, but both of our meals seemed like they were lacking some filling. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. This place is "IT" for brunch! Of the handful of times we've been here either buy ourselves or with a group, brunch has been our stop 100% of the time. Can't go wrong with a good boxty and bottomless mimosas! Depending on the time, I've gotten a club sandwich/chicken sandwich a time or two as well, but their breakfast items are a huge hit! Decided to go Irish since it's close by and open for dine-in and a place we haven't been to yet. They have a live Irish band. We are out on the patio. It's written on the menu that they charge extra for credit card charges, passing on the 3% charge the owner is too cheap to pay for with having a business and all. I am already not loving the business model of this place. I already have a feeling we will be charged for the club soda. Our waitress is nice enough, but she's training Patrick. We asked for a minute to order, we got a few minutes to order our food. We ordered the Turkey Reuben and a buffalo chicken salad had a side of cole slaw too. Some guy came into the enclosed patio with his tank top and his dog on the patio. He sat at table right by us. He's less than 3 feet away from me. He was here to see Sally, so he says and knows the staff here as well. He came in like he owned the place and plopped himself right by us and let his dog get too close for comfort for me. I don't mind dogs by me on an open patio, but not a huge fan when it's enclosed and feet's away from my food. He wasn't leaving anytime soon. We grabbed our waters and went to get an inside table far from this clueless guy. The Buffalo chicken salad wasn't too bad, crisp romaine lettuce. Bread roll was warm and had a nice crust to it. The Turkey Reuben was also okay. Fries were crispy. Turkey meat seemed uneven and different thickness and slices. As expected all of the menu prices were inflated to reflect the 3% on the bill. The live Irish band is a nice added touch. Patrick is super attentive, warm and friendly. He will do well for sure, he has a good personality and is patient and on top of things too. read more

spent last football season here, great atmosphere to watch any Detroit team. I consider this my home away from home and am always treated with fantastic service from all wait staff. I've had the pleasure talking with the main cook in the back and he does a fantastic job with all the menu items. The management team is great a listening to any concerns, and questions you may have. Their bar tender Madison last year for the lions game was always on point and gave excellent service and performance, never had to worry about my beer being empty! So always loved this place but this visit was absolutely horrible. Wings were way over cooked and there was practically no meat on them at all. Frozen wings from BJ's in the air fryer have more meat and flavor than these did. Also had the Chicken and Bread pudding and the chicken was so dry you almost choke on it. We came here on a whim, looking for fish & chips...on a Friday...during Lent. Honestly though, the wait wasn't bad at all and it was fabulous people watching! I'm very picky on my fish, as I'm not a huge fan, but theirs was delicious. You get three large pieces of cod, and while one of my pieces was a bit mushy inside, the other two were good. I should mention that the soggy fish was in the piece that is noticeably darker. Their fries are perfectly seasoned, and some of the best I've had in a long time! I'm a solid "maybe" on this place. The food waa okay but the service left much to be desired. We waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge our existence. At that point we ordered mozzarella cheese sticks, which required an additional forty minute wait. We ordered fish and chips, which were quite good. The portions were healthy and the fish was nicely battered and fried. You can probably skip the cole slaw. It was overly gloopy with mayonnaise and VERY sweet. First time coming I went on a Wednesday afternoon. Their special was $10 burgers any burger so me and my co-workers got that. I started with the Bavarian pretzels sticks and cheese they came with 3 of them and they were delicious. Perfectly flavored. I got the bbq burger and the burger had such great flavor I haven't had a burger with this month flavor I feel in years! I had a really nice experience visiting this place for the first time on a Thursday evening. I came with my 3 year old daughter and my mom and her boyfriend. Although I am assuming this is a legit Bar with karaoke etc. at night, it is very kid friendly during the day. I really liked that they had a kids menu. The inside itself is decorated really uniquely and has cool, Irish decorations and lights . I ordered the grilled chicken boxty and really liked it. It was quite a large portion enough to take home. They offer a vegetarian boxty with Thai curry sauce. That also looks very nice. They have a decent draft list and a couple craft cocktails. It was delicious, the chicken and cheese combo inside was tender, melty and just right. The green beans were crisp, the batter had a nice flavor & I got to pretend I was eating healthy because it had a veggie inside. My chili was a little thin for my taste, but the overall flavor wasn't bad. I added some cheese & sour cream from my fridge to zing it up a bit. Everything was ready super quick. This is a new owner and food concept, at this location before was a gastropub that failed, this is an Irish style bar. They changed the layout inside a little, the outside area is bigger. Lots of low key Irish themed stuff on the walls, some of the draft and canned beers are Irish. They have the Irish filled pancakes and rubens and fish and chips, in addition to more traditional bar food. The bartender and server was fast and polite. Food was good. Beer list was kind of short but decent prices. Okay food prices. Lots of TVs on the walls all turned to sport channels, different sports from golf to BB to racing. They do use the old fashioned paper bills and taking your card, instead of the modern pay at the table tablets. read more

Hi all. This place is a 5 to watch a game and much on pub grub. If you are not a regular, it can take a moment or 2 to get served. We did carry out and that was what I am giving 3 stars. I ordered fish and chips and gave very specific instructions. My requests were not met, at all. Food was a 3.5, but the failure to get me what I wanted is a 0. My wife had a sandwich and other than being a mess, it was meh. I tried it and would have given it a 3.5. "Irish" taverns/pubs/restaurants etc... are always a bit off putting for me because most of them are anything but Irish and just have a feeling that they're were built from a kit... but I've heard good things about IT, so I thought it was worth checking out. The interior was nothing flashy or fancy, so that's a good start. There were some Irish themed beer posters and mirrors, and some other small decor, but it wasn't trying to overcompensate with the usual "Look at me! I'm an Irish Pub!" type thing. Clean tables, simple concrete bar, darts, shuffle board and a nice looking bar. There was also outside seating AND and enclosed patio. The service was good, but not great. Friendly, but not overbearing. Our orders were taken accurately and brought out quickly, so that's good enough for me! The kettle chips app was a big surprise. The chips were HOT, so I can only guess that they actually do cut and fry them in house. The chips were a perfect size; not too thick and not too thin. The beef, mushroom and cheese boxty was also a winner. The homemade potato pancake was very flavorful, and I'd be shocked if it wasn't done in house as claimed. A nice mix of flavors, especially that horseradish sauce. Well prepared and delicious. My wife had the Irish Fried Chicken and it too was very good. The beer selection was good, if not a but pricey considering they didn't offer a larger size, so that'd really be my only ding on the rating.
