Their live music isn't always on time and their bartender just charged me full Prices on a beer and appetizer instead of happy hour pieces after 9pm on a Wednesday . This place is only worth going to during happy hour anyways

I visited Gus' yesterday for lunch and am pleased to share a glowing review. The service was wonderful, the food was tasty (& came out fast), the atmosphere was festive (decorated for Christmas), and it was all around a great experience! I can't believe I've waited this long to try it - I will definitely be back. This is a hidden gem in Clawson!

Small restaurant, friendly staff - our waitress was pretty attentive and food was okay. Ruben with turkey was slightly soggy on the bottom, salad was yummy, fish & chips were good and the slider special was also good. Not pictured pretzels and cheese (cheese was gross and had a waxy consistency) and spinach artichoke dip (nice size, crunchy chips, and good cheese pull)

Love this place & so much on the menu I want to go back and try! We visited early on St Patty's Sunday and had fabulous service and fab food- I also love that the cocktail list is so fun and Interesting

    Corned Beef

I ordered door dash so it would probably be amazing at the restaurant. I loved the calamari and peppers. They give you so much corned beef on the sandwich. I wish i could have asked for a side of sauce because it was pretty dry.

Fish and Chips, crispy and tasty.

I enjoyed it. Sat at the bar, had a guiness, some Spinach Artichoke dip and an order of Fish and Chips. Food was good, not amazing, but good. Ambiance and service were good (although sitting at the bar makes service easier). Fair pricing, and nice people. Definitely recommend if in the area and looking for a pub.

This has been on our list to try for awhile. My primary take away is that Gus' Snug is a great destination for a beer and some live music but I would not recommend it for its food. To start we had the mozzarella sticks. The marinara was served cold and the sticks tasted like frozen mozzarella sticks that you air fry. The fish was greasy and lacked the desired crunch you expect from fish and chips. It was served on top of the fries which made them greasy too. The Wagyu burger didn't taste like Wagyu. Overall the ambiance is good, we'd return for a beer but unlikely to consider this spot for food in the future.

Overall it was a good meal. The service was very friendly but that said he was very flighty. He asked if we were ready to place our order, we said yes and then he went to another table. He also disappeared after the meal and it took forever for us to cash out. This was multiplied but us unknowingly sitting to where the live music set up and it was extremely loud to the point we couldn't have a conversation at our table. The food reviews: Onion soup was good not great, the onions needed to have been cooked down more and the cheese on top could have been browned more. Chicken sandwich was very tasty. The Reuben was good although it should be served sauerkraut up, as it was plated sauerkraut on the bottom which made the bottom bread mushy. Fries were good, although the portion sizes were visibly different and with four people getting fries and one person noticeably getting less was strange. Drinks were good. As stated the music was extremely loud to the point my watch was giving me alerts of sound over 90 decibels. I would return but make sure I sat away from the front windows, which is were the music set up.

Best fish and chips around! This is the 3 piece but even the 2 piece is plenty. Great portion and amazing quality. So much fish and not too much breading. Make sure to order the Donegal chips too no matter what. You really can't go wrong with anything you order. The Maurice salad is phenomenal as well and the atmosphere is so unique. It really brought me back to Ireland. Cozy vibes for sure.

The menu is vast and features a lot of traditional Irish inspired options and they are famous for their signature boxties. I recently had their Burrata Caprese salad and it was delicious! For my drink I had the Dragonberry Mojito and it was refreshing, but could've been a little stronger. I ordered the Irish potato skins and the corned beef is brown and crumbled like ground beef, which was not what I was expecting. Although I didn't order it this visit, I have enjoyed their donegal chips and dip. I'd be interested in attending a live music night in the future.

My salad had canned corn and jalapeños on it, the avacado was old, and the dressing was watered down, no flavor. The french fries, chicken wings, and chicken tenders were frozen from a box and just thrown in a fryer. They didn't even taste like they bothered to let to food fry long enough. The slider my son had as gross, luckily he's 5 and doesn't know any better, however he still didn't want to eat it. When we addressed this the server, who was new, she was kind enough. But then the owner, Mitch I believe, came out and refused to make any accommodations for the disgusting food. He got loud and boisterous with us, spoke down to us, and was even so bold as to claim that they have never had any complaints the whole time he's owned the place. Needless to say I'll never take my family to this place again. YOU should stear clear as well. This business needs to fail as it's a blemish on the prestige that comes from owning a business in the beautiful city of Birmingham. Find somewhere else in the two minute walk it would take to go somewhere else.

Having heard good things about their Burgers I opted to go with their Classic Cheeseburger and fries for $15 and two of their house margarita's which were the drink of the day on Tuesdays for $5 apiece. Realtive to the burger, it was quite large at 1/2 lb and definately a two hander. It was well made, quite juicy, with fresh veggies and very very tasty. The fries were well made as well with a nice crunchy texture and quite tasty in their own right. Lastly my two Margarita's very well made and oh so good where I had only planned on getting one but opted for two after the first sip. NICE! At $5 a piece this was an absolute steal! Relative to facility and staff, the restaurant is visually very appealing with vibrant Irish accents, neon sign's everywhere and TV's scattered to allow you to watch the big game of the day while enjoying your meal. The restaurant had been closed for the entire week after the July 4 holiday, yet Kevin O'Mara and his team opened on Saturday just to host our family and friends. Lightly breaded and seasoned just enough to let the fish speak for itself, it was excellent. The whiskey sauce bread pudding was memorable, and even the coleslaw stood out with a unique flavor that had everyone asking what was in it. What impressed me most, though, was how much the restaurant has evolved. We had eaten here six or seven years ago and left feeling the family-style meals lacked creativity. This visit was a completely different experience. You can tell Kevin has thoughtfully reinvented the menu, emphasizing wild-caught and organic ingredients, avoiding unnecessary additives, and preparing everything with care.
