What a disappointment ordered the white fish basket the fish came out greasy and over cooked had a burnt taste fries the same

I enjoyed my chowder and salad, but my husband's $21 fish tacos were bland and very small. The major issue we had with this establishment was the transparency fund fee that was added to our bill. We saw no mention anywhere that an additional 4% transparency fund fee would be added to our bill, which in hindsight, I should have demanded it be removed. Needless to say, we will not frequent this place again. PS... shame on those who don't question an added fee on their final bill. It only makes the owners feel they can get away with it. Their use of the term 'transparency fund' is an oxymoron, because you don't see it coming. In a response to another review I left, the owner claims there are notices posted in multiple places, however, we never saw any of them. Besides, how many people search for notices of hidden fees when going out for a relaxing, late lunch? Shame on the owners for squeezing every penny they can get out of their customers. We almost deducted the fee from our servers tip, but recognized that would not have been fair to him. By the way, Sean, our server, is an asset to this business. read more

Trying to explain how much fun we had in Marquette is an impossibility! Around every corner, down every street was a new experience for us. We decided to take a walk down by the ore docks and happened upon this cool tap room. It was quite warm outside so we were looking to replenish our "hop stores"! We made our way to the bar area and found a comfy little spot to chat and sample some beers. They offered a nice selection of local beers. We enjoyed talking to the bartender and learning more about Marquette. If you happen to be in the area, Iron bay has a great location by the water and is surrounded by fantastic restaurants. Unfortunately, we were unable to try the food because we were still quite full from our lunch. There is a fantastic Mexican restaurant above the tap room, too. read more

Really fun place! Sitting outside on the small patio gave us a lovely view. Excellent food (the whitefish tacos were delicious) and a great beer list. Server was very friendly and outgoing, and was able to split our check at the table so we could pay individually. A great stop while you're in Marquette. read more

We visited the tap room while we were waiting for a table at the restaurant. They serve the full menu in the tap room but we decided to wait anyway. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. Solid brewery. The bartender was the best part! Everyone got to try a whole bunch of the beers on tap before selecting one to order. We didn't order food, but it looked really good... whitefish tater tots were really intriguing! Would like to return for lunch or dinner someday! read more

Awesome food and great Michigan beer selection! I got everything whitefish. Chowder, whitefish tots, and whitefish n chips. Paired with a flight of Michigan beer. Three of us ried to go in for a drink (tap room appeared to be full so we hung back awaiting instructions from the staff and were completely ignored... one staff member appeared to be approaching us but then walked right by us. I eventually approached her and she was quite rude. I asked if she had room for us and she emphatically declared she could not seat us, they were full for "a while", and then proceeded to tell me that we couldn't wait in the lobby even though several other people were waiting there. She never took our name nor did she offer any assistance for future seating or did she seem interested in making sure we returned. Guess what... we won't be back. Only in town two days and came back to Iron Bay twice. Our second day we decided to go into the tap room and we were not disappointed. Our bartender Mason was an absolute treat. He was very personable and knowledgeable of the beers he had on tap. There was a great selection of Michigan beers to choose from. There happy hour 12-4 included 5$ flights of beer, which is a ridiculous deal. I was sad we didn't have time to stop in Ishpeming and was excited to see they had some of the cognition brewing on tap. This is a comfortable brewery with several good beers. It's located downtown 1 block from the main thoroughfare and a block off the bay. Had a beer last night while waiting for a pizza from a truck located outside and stopped in for a flight of beers with my wife the following day. Definitely recommend the flight. The brewery only offers about 6 beers. With the flight, you can taste 5 of those. Be careful however when ordering. The two bartenders today, one was male,other female. She was personable and friendly, he was dismissive and rude. We watched him serve the wrong beer to a customer who apparently didn't know what to expect. We will definitely be back. read more

We are sitting at the table right now and haven't received our food yet. No worries as we just ordered. But I couldn't wait to submit a review on Sam. Sam is our server. He is also the server for five other tables. He is also the bartender. Not just for this room, but also for all of the servers in the Iron Bay restaurant next door. Sam is amazing. Despite all he is doing, he has an amazing attitude, a contagious enthusiasm, and is getting everyone what they need. Sam could use some help. It would probably make sense for him to not be the only one working to serve all of these people. If the owners can't get Sam some help, they should surely give him a massive raise. He is the type of person that brings people back in. read more

Our host Joey was very accommodating. The food was outstanding, each meal was more than we could finish. It was delicious!

I was visiting from Texas and found this place near my hotel. The beer was great, but the highlight of my experience was Chris. He's an expert at helping people find the right beer for them. Next time I go to Marquette, I hope to see him there. read more
