I recommend the pulled pork sandwich and split the large serving of fries with another person.

Labor Day weekend 2024 we found a dog friendly restaurant for lunch. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful in suggesting/recommending lunch options. She immediately brought our Miniature Schnauzer pup out a bowl of water and checked on us regularly. There was another couple who were also seated along with their dog and our waitress brought out a bowl of water for it. The ambiance was nice as we were all visiting and passersby's loved seeing our cute dogs. I would highly recommend if you are traveling with a dog to give Digs a try as they are certainly pet friendly. Portside Inn is just up the street and also pet friendly if Digs is full with no outside tables.

We had Cajun Fries, Whitefish Rueben and Chicken Tender Wrap. All were fantastic! Service was top notch from Josh. Outdoor patio is the place to be!

Abover average "bar" food, unreal environment + the most stellar staff! Would highly recommend for all fun occasions!

    Mac rolls! Must have!

Not what I expected but really surprised and happy. The bartenders were really nice during during a visit at lunch. They were terribly busy for lunch but drinks later that night it was insane(trivia night). I decided on one of their hot dogs and the Mac and cheese pulled pork egg rolls. Holy moly! Those egg rolls were amazing and huge. Definitely would be difficult to eat alone...but I did and the hot dog and maybe a few beers. A must stop while you are in town so put it on your list.

The best chicken wings in North America. I don't say that lightly, the recipe and technique are a national treasure.

Our two month motorhome trip brought us to Marquette, MI for three days. After an internet search…read more(thanks Yelp), we decided to eat at The Vierling. There were no seats at the highly touted back room, with a view, so we decided to sit at the bar...excellent decision. BTW, the view at the back area is not worth getting stressed about. However, it is a great area. Our bartender was Marissa; she was great. When in Rome...we both decided to get the whitefish. Mine was just the regular seasoning and my wife got the scampi version. Both were very good. We both had one of the Vierling's brews (cant remember which one) and we both enjoyed it. Vierling also has a blueberry brew and blueberries are actually dropped into it before served. We may go back today just to try it. It was a great experience and struck up a conservation with a young local. He wrote down several recommendations for us, including Black Rock Brewery and Portside, which deserve a review. I highly recommend The Vierling and discovered they take reservations. We enjoyed sitting at the bar. Thanks Marissa!

At dinner time, get here early. You definitely want a table in the back to look out over the lake…read more It's a really pretty view. Unfortunately tonight I didn't get here early enough so I sat out by the bar, which is absolutely fine. I started with a French onion soup, which I normally do when I'm here, tonight it was a little less oniony than it usually is, but that just could simply be a function of whoever was ladling it up. It's still absolutely delicious. For dinner, I had the chicken piccata with a baked potato and steamed green beans. The steamed green beans are a staple while there are a variety of other sides, such as onion rings or Alfredo, etc. I was a little disappointed in the piccata this time. It was less lemony and more oily than I remember. The lemon wedge helped, but I don't think that piccata would have to need additional lemon to the sauce. The green beans also a little heavy on the butter as was the baked potato. I don't want to say that the meal wasn't flavorful, because it was and my server while really busy was an absolute gem, only that it was a little heavy with the melted butter. After many excellent experiences here, this won't turn me off to coming back again and trying something else. Especially if I can get a table in the back!

We came here on a Sunday night for dinner. It was great that they had a patio for our dog to join…read moreus. The inside was also a cute ambiance! The service was OK - we were seated quickly, and the food did not take too long, but things like getting our bill and paying our bill took quite a long time. The ceviche was $19-20 but a really big portion! It is a shrimp and whitefish ceviche. You get chips and salsa for free. They have additional salsa flavors with no price, so I asked to try the mango habanero; it was OK but then we found out we were charged $2 for it. We shared the birria tacos and the el jefe tacos, which were steak and avocado. Both were really delicious, although the steak in the El Jefe tacos was a bit overly fatty. I also had a skinny margarita, which was good but not $15 good. So the food was very tasty, but prices a little high.

It's difficult for me to reconcile the things I didn't like with the things that I did like…read more The food was good, and they had decent variation in their menu. Our server was nice, but everyone else seemed winded from the end of the day. The place was clean, well decorated, and although small, made good use of the space with two stories of seating including outdoors. However, as I've mentioned in my other reviews, accessibility is very important to me--27% of people in the US report having a disability, so I struggle to understand how we are not more accessible as a country. At this location: - there does appear to be a steep ramp in the back with a door that does open outward. I did not take this ramp, I do not know where it leads, I simply know it is there. Win. - there are several illuminated neon signs throughout the building, including in the bathrooms, that flicker at a rapid pace like an EEG. I understand this adds to the modern bright vibe. For me, it was unpleasant. Not quite enough to be "seizure-inducing," but I don't speak for everyone with a photosensitivity. - the bathrooms were in a corner, blockaded by a chair. - should this chair be moved, the doors opened outwards, a dark restroom with the neon light. I turned the overhead light on so the flickering wasn't so bad. The paper towel, soap, sink, and light switch are really high. - the bathroom door got stuck on my way out. I had to kick it three times. Not for the weak of ankle or wrist. - did I mention the stairs? If you don't take the ramp, tons of stairs in this place. It's cute and a good way to maximize human storage, but the lack of viable seating on the bottom "floor" means it fills up quick and if it's busy, there might be nowhere to sit but on top. - the AI wing-swing is gross It's cute, it's cliche, it's clean, it's pretty, it's modern. But there are things that were overlooked in the process that made it unwelcoming for some visitors :(
