Typical bar with a hometown feel! The place is welcoming and cozy accommodating a mixed crowd of students, the after work crowd, and dinner crowd on a Friday night. Seating for about 50-60 people and plenty of street parking. The service was quick and attentive. Our server was kind and answered our questions about the menu confidentially. The food was good. It was battered and fried well. Most of the flavor came from the condiments but the tartar was pretty tasty. We'd definitely eat here again when in the area. read more

I hadn't been to town in a long time and thought maybe Stucko's would be a good spot to hit for dinner. The parking was a nightmare on a busy night as is most parking on 3rd street but once we found a spot and got inside we were hit with an overwhelmingly unpleasant smell. It kinda smelled like dirty restaurant water buckets or like the dish pit or something? And besides the smell my shoe soles were sticking to the floor as I walked (idk if it was sticky or old floor varnish or what but it wasn't great). We stood and waited in the walkway for maybe 10 minutes along with a group of others before anyone gave us a hello or a time estimate on the wait. We felt like we were just standing in the way of everything and in the middle of people's meals the way the entrance is set up. It was just not a great vibe for the beginning of the meal. We had an estimated wait of 30+ minutes longer with standing only room (which is completely fine we love to see a business busy) but the smell was what sent us out the door. I didn't know if I could handle it for that long, plus waiting for our food, and then eating in there. Giving 3 stars because I know the food is decent from what I remember (the poutine and pulled pork was good a decade ago) but it's just not the place I remembered it being when I was in college. read more

"We're like superheroes with no powers or motivation." (Really, that's what it says on their work shirts!) We stopped in for the last day of Restaurant Week 2023. Our realtor told us about this place last fall and, honestly, it took me a while to recognize this as The Village Pub. I mean, criminy, I lived just a few blocks away when I was a student (*ahem* last century). In any event, we started started with some big dranks (see the photos, very reasonably priced) and pored over the menu. Smokin'Hubster ordered his favorite (shrimp basket) and proclaimed that they were really well-prepared; tender and perfect. He also got a pile of onion rings, which made me a bit jealous. I don't know when restaurants became so stingy with onion rings but Stucko's is not one of them! I order one of the Restaurant Week specials, a chicken pesto melt-y wrap that made a beautiful and tasty mess on my plate. It was exactly what I needed after a night of wine and friends. I am back again baby with another review . Today is for stuckos. Not a bad spot, not too shabby but I know there are many similar places like this here. It was a rough start, with a long wait time but I see that they're hiring so that's probably why. The food was quite nice with some decent quantity , but personally charging for fries on some orders was a little much: the main entrees do not disappoint though. My quesadilla was good , not doing backflips over it though. My compadres seemed to enjoy their meal but were also antsy about the wait time. Excellent customer service though, I am sure they are trying due to the short staff. Will I come here again? For a burger or Sammy, potentially. I do regret not getting a sloppy greasy gushy burger. It's a crowded place and a little pricy for sides other than chips, so go here to party hardy and catch up with people , not to fine dine or date night. I would also eat here after a grueling workout. read more

My mom and I went out for lunch and the service was amazing. It was one of the best services either of us had experienced in a while. We both ordered a caesar salad and also shared a plate of nachos. Anyone that's spent a little time around campus has heard of Stucko's. This is definitely one of those places you are REQUIRED to visit. Now I've been here a few times now, but just never got around to doing a review, until now. I'm a huge fan of fish and chips. Especially when they use local fresh fish. Because of COVID restrictions, inside seating wasn't an option. We called ahead for a couple whitefish baskets with beer batter. Only a 20 minute wait and our food was ready by the time we got there. There's a couple of curbside pickup parking spots right out front. They came out with the food before we even had a chance to call. We opted to pay with a card when we got our food, but paying over the phone when ordering was an option too. The whole ordering and pickup went about as smooth as you could expect. No complaints there. My 3 star review was more about the food. Again, no real significant complaints, but it's just whatever. I wanted it to be so much more, but it just wasn't. Standard fish and chips, standard review rating. This doesn't mean I didn't like it. It also doesn't mean that I won't be back. It just means if you're looking for fish and chips, you've found it. read more

I'm so happy we ended up at Stucko's! We tried to go on Tuesday but they were closed. Unfortunately COVID has impacted staff and they said they just can't be open on Tuesday's, which I hate for them. But luckily, on our last night in Marquette, we were able to eat here! They are only doing outside seating due to COVID, but you can obviously go in to go to the restroom. They are following all the guidelines! We did have to wait for about 15 - 20 minutes, but it wasn't bad at all. Service was awesome, friendly, and quick! I got two Moscow Mules and they were delicious! (& strong so I liked that!) Okay so the food. We got cod bites for an app, & they were very very good! For main dishes, my boyfriend got the white fish with rice & he ate every bite of it. He said it was very fresh & good! I got the barnyard burger without bacon, so it had burger, pulled pork, cheddar cheese, & bbq sauce on it. It was the best burger I have ever had. So flavorful & yummy. I loved this place! Bartenders and staff were amazing! Food was just plain simple and delicious especially for a pub and grub place. That chimichanga man... holy hell. Cod Bites... phenomenal. They make their own tartar sauce (regular and spicy) in house and lemme tell ya, it's freakin INSANE on the flavor. They had lots of beers on tap, especially the locals. Pros: The single greatest Whitefish Sandwich in the World ($14.95 and worth every penny). Funky atmosphere and a good beer selection. Cons: It's busy so don't be in a hurry. After the Hot Blond Wife and I were stymied for lunch at Blackrocks Brewery, we were directed to Stucko's and Thank You, God! It's hard to describe how good the Whitefish Sandwich is but I will try: Fresh, Perfectly Cooked, Ample and Fulfilling. I've had a lot of fish in my life but this was... BY FAR... the best Whitefish Sammy I've ever had. Will be back again and again when in Marquette, MI -- home of great beer, beautiful views of Lake Superior and unbelievably attractive women. Stucko's might not look like much when you drive up because it is an unassuming brick building in the middle of a residential neighborhood, but like most UP gems, it's what's inside that counts. The beer was cold and good and local! That's a nice start. I enjoyed a 51k from Blackrocks which is just down the street. She had a two hearted from Bell's. The poutine was perfect! She had a brussel sprout salad and she is very picky about salads. When I asked her how it was, she replied with one word: "delicious"! I went with the Friday Fish Fry special of Beer Battered & Fried white fish with a side of wild rice and cole slaw. Wow! Perfect. I would give it a higher rating if possible. So good!! read more

Stopped here with my family after an afternoon of touring around Marquette. Everything is homemade and really well done. The whitefish was delightful, and the pulled pork had a unique and tasty BBQ sauce. Good burger and French fries as well. We got a nice table on the outdoor patio right when we arrived!
