I can confirm for those who prefer to work in cafes, that Kru is a most excellent place to study and work on a project. I think I shared in my last review that the decor is akin to a rustic retreat. I highly recommend Kru for drinks, the treats, the vibe, and the many, many electrical outlets. It is like they structured this coffee house with people like me in mind. Today I had the Godfather (espresso, mocha, chai, and something else). This drink is quite yummy. I also had the spicy vegetarian egg sandwich which was so tasty. Stopped here on a road trip and decided to stop again on the way back. First time on Sunday afternoon (quiet) and second Thursday around 10-the place was hopping. Spacious interior with more seating on the second level as well a smaller outdoor seating area. We ordered a Strawberry Matcha (seasonal) and Nutella Latte -cold. Both were tasty with subtle notes of Strawberry and Nutella-not the overpowering sugar flavor you can get with some flavored drinks. Second time it was the Godfather. Never had a mix of Chai and Espresso so why not? Interesting mix and the Chai won the battle with the espresso and mocha complimenting. Would I order again? Maybe-that said, definitely one to try. Kru is a great spot for studying and chatting with friends! I've come here a couple of times to do work and it's been a great place to be productive. The overall set up of the cafe is so cute with lots of chairs and tables to do work at. It is super popular so it does get noisy with the chatter and music but it also makes sense for a place that has really great coffee and food! I'm a big fan of their scones, sandwiches, and specialty coffees but they also have a great selection of beans to get too. I would have loved to try their muffin but those were gone quick so I'll definitely have to be back. The cashier was also super sweet and everything was made quickly and well. read more

I'll be at there isn't much seating downstairs and lots of small toddlers running around which is fine but still I bumped into a few or maybe they bumped into me. No orders came out before me and I clearly could see that the chef and another employee in the cooking area. When on vacation, I always want to try as many places and restaurants as possible. So imagine my surprise when there was literally no where else I could imagine getting breakfast from three times in one trip to Saratoga. Best. Breakfast. Ever. I think about their biscuits often and wish frequently for the biscuit breakfast sandwich with egg whites, bacon and cheese. My husband got the croissant breakfast sandwich with spicy aioli, too, and immediately asked when he could have another one each time. And we're born and raised in New Jersey so we know a good breakfast sandwich when we have one ... these are among the best we've ever had. And the coffee... you can tell how much effort and thought they put into their craft. The Nitro Cold Brew and Nitro Latte (with vanilla) were our go-to's. This is our neighborhood coffee place. We came every morning. They have a$$-kicking Sammies. Gluten-free bread (not for L2+ celiacs), veggie-friendly. Keto friends love the bullets. You walk in, they know you, your neighbor is there, you see your Zumba teacher... when there are lines of tourists, you feel annoyed... it's comforting. We are moving to a new city and DAMN ... I can only base my review on one cup of unleaded while on vacation in Saratoga last week. And a solid cup of dark roast it was. But, what impressed me was apparent expertise of the cafe. It just screamed "we know coffee". No expensive food displays, no walls of bagels...just lots and lots of coffee accoutrements. I am guessing that these guys are pros. Friendly service- even knew what the Moxie logo on my shirt meant- and a good quick cup to go. Only small gripe was finding a parking place. This would be a difficult place to dive in and out of in a hurry on the way to work- if you are rushed. Maybe there is a special 5-minute parking place, but navigating my family hauler SUV through the tight and busy and crowded lot was the only downside to this cool location. read more

the people are nice here but my husband and I are leaving for the third time utterly dissatisfied. this is the third time we've come in and the espresso is burnt and we've had to ask them to remake the coffee each and every time. This time we just spilled our espresso out and we are just not going to come again. Kru Coffee provides such a product. My wife used to ask me why my charges at Kru were above $12. I had to show her a map and a graph as to why I would purchase my large vanilla latte and 2 bottles of iced coffee. You see, it would behoove me to pre- purchase the additional coffees so that I didn't have to drive across or back to town to get my recharge that was necessary to maintain top performance. This coffee shop is ridiculous, in the very best sense of the word. Let me give you an example. Most coffee shops have two espressos on offer. One regular and one decaf. Very special places might have a third, or will swap out the decaf in exchange for an extra special guest espresso. In addition to kru's house espresso, on my last visit they were offering three other beans. These were all available as espresso. Two could be made in their steampunk brewers. The third could be had as a handmade pour over. On the specials board, there were different tasting notes for each extraction of each bean. The reason why most places don't do this is because typically each bean needs its own dedicated grinder. However, kru has one super fancy mega grinder behind the counter that does it all. Of course, each extraction has its own specific grind requirements, and they make sure the grinder is clean between beans. I watched this process. The barista fastidiously cleared any old coffee grinds from the chute. But then she went a step further. She took one, just one, of the new beans and ran it through the grinder. Those resulting coffee grounds are for the angels. In all seriousness, that bean seasons the grinder to insure that any lingering flavor from a past bean is obliterated from the equation. I haven't even gotten to the textured milk, the latte art, or the fun little brubender bar where coffee gets weird in unexpectedly delicious ways. We haven't talked about the espresso machine, the steampunk contraption, or the roasting that's done on site. Nor did I even mention the coffee aroma wheel which is prominently displayed on the wall opposite the three head slayer espresso machine. This shop has it going on. And it has wifi.
