We had a great time at Iron Horse! We just came here for drinks and live music. The place looks big. It looks like it's broken up to two sections. There's games in the back, an area for musicians to perform live music, and one bar area. It didn't look like there were servers, and there was one line for the bar, so we assumed that in order to get a drink, we needed to line up at the bar, which we did. The live band was great. They played a few covers that everyone was familiar with. The crowd seemed to have a great time dancing. There were people at the dance floor at all times. I'm not sure if this is a local's spot or if everyone was just super friendly, but it seemed like a lot of the crowd knew each other. Great place to hang out at night with some live music and drinks.

We stopped in Iron Horse on Sunday afternoon Labor Day weekend. I had a French dip with grilled peppers and onions. It was toasted to perfection. Loaded with meat and veggies. And absolutely delicious. Hubs had a grilled Turkey club that was equally delicious Our waitress/bartender was terrific. Checked on us several times to refill drinks, etc. I would encourage anyone to give them a try

Love the Rock on the weekends. The trio bartenders are in sync getting you drinks with no wait. It's locals, not elitist snobs...

Best mashed potatoes in town!!! The gravy, so delicious!!!

We bought a seasonless 16oz steak for our dog, my wife tried it and said "without seasoning its f*ing delicious!".

What happened tonight was beyond unacceptable. I brought a group in to celebrate our niece's 21st birthday. The second we walked up to the bar, the bartender--an absolute piss boy--already had a nasty, cocky attitude. He was openly mocking customers while laughing with his little boytoy sitting at the bar, clearly more interested in performing for his friend than doing his job. We politely asked for a pitcher of Hazy. He immediately snapped, "WHICH BEER? Are you literally even using your ears?!" We calmly repeated that we wanted the Hazy. He then yelled, "Yo, are y'all fucking deaf?" We were visibly shocked and confused, still trying to communicate clearly while being verbally abused. He then proceeded to pour the wrong beer. When we said, "Sir, we said the Hazy," he threw a tantrum--dumped the beer out aggressively, threw his hands up, and got visibly angry like a child being corrected. He then screamed, "I SAID HOW MANY GLASSES--CAN'T YOU HEAR?!" The entire time, his boytoy was laughing hysterically, and the bartender kept looking over at him for validation like a middle school kid trying to impress his crush. It was humiliating, uncomfortable, and embarrassing to witness. When he finally asked what else we wanted, we were ordering a Malibu pineapple for our niece. As we quickly double-checked with her, he screamed again, "Hurry the fuck up and tell me what you want." Immediately after, he and his little friend celebrated--laughing, dapping each other up, and acting like being a complete asswipe to paying customers was the highlight of their night. For context, we are bartenders ourselves who work down the street. We are patient, respectful, and extremely generous tippers--especially to industry staff. We don't expect smiles or special treatment, but we do expect basic human decency. What we experienced was vile, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. This piss boy should not be allowed behind a bar, and frankly appeared intoxicated or otherwise unfit to be serving alcohol. One employee single-handedly ruined what should have been a special night and seriously damaged the reputation of a place we've supported for years. Do better.

This is the story, it is not really about wine.. I crested the drive up to Stellas on the hill, truck's RPM held at 3000, four vehicles pass on the left exiting (3 full of ladies with short cropped white hair and the 4th a black Maserati entitled to the center section of the narrow twisting mountain road), edging my wheelbase close to the drop off on the right side. I arrive to Stella's on the hill to a 3/4 full parking lot. And (angel's singing) a prime spot opens up to my right, 3 more silver pumas leaving in a Lincoln Navigator. I pull in as they exit. An attendant comes up to my window informing me "we are at capacity", but 5 cars just left in the last minute I question, "yeah we are not letting people in" he replies. I explain the significance of both birthdays; "yeah that sucks for you man.." That's (shitty errhmm cough cough) fair, I think to myself, a business does have a right to refuse service. I text my spouse, and tell her I will have to abscond from the parties. "Dude it's hot and I had the worst wrap ever. Super nice view but you really aren't missing anything. If it wasn't for Dr Phil and the Enablers (the band), I would have already left." She tells me, and informs my retreating vehicle that I should grab a couple tables at Wine House. A short drive later, I park in the lot for Jimmy's down the street, the sign says I will be towed but 'Jimmy wouldn't do that' I mouth to myself. Wine house was 70% full with a private event being held in the interior space, NOT AGAIN I think. But the owner, sensing my confusion, politely ushered me out to a partially shaded double table in the front. My wife and 7 friends arrived minutes later. We had wine and ate little cheeses. The server even offered to replace my $15 Graham Beck South African bubbles with a $5 brown bag beer free of charge. Thinking, incorrectly, that I had wanted the bargain mystery beer, and not a light effervescence of brut wine dancing in my mouth, as I sat in the sun. We watching other parties on dates, 30-somethings having 'girl dinner', maybe an interview dinner for a nanny (?); it was a very fine evening. The wine was good. The owner of Wine House was attentive and visited the table twice, which was a nice touch. The crowd was good, sociable and attractive. Also they let me sit, while Stellas' didn't even let me park after 5 cars left. And Jimmy didn't tow me.

Parking can be a little bit of a challenge, but if your car isn't lowered like mine, there is a little gravel area that has a few nasty pocket holes. But don't let that deter you because amazing goodness waits within. We came in, have a seat, and waited for our waitress. Now she was the only one working the floor, so some Grace had to be extended as she was really slammed. But you finally got around to us and got our drink orders post taste. All three of us sorted the same thing, which was a jalapeno pickled egg, and a steak sandwich with fries. Let's talk about that. Pickled egg for a second. That was one of the most amazing things I have ever had in my life. The jalapeno wasn't so strong that it burned your mouth, but it left you with the flavor that you really wanted and it paired so well with the hard-boiled egg. Now that steak sandwich. That thing was awesome. The steak was tender and juicy and whatever the only they put on that roll was absolutely complimentary. One of the better steak sandwiches I've had in a long long time. The bottom line? I would definitely be coming back here next time I am in the Post Falls area. If you live anywhere near this place you should really go check it out as it is a national treasure!
