I went to another repair shop who mentioned they don't work on Acers and there are very few shops that do. They did tell me to check with Pleasanton Computer Repair though. Thank goodness I did! They were able to repair my computer for a lot less than I anticipated and finished the project quickly. My computer is working great, and Gabe even sent me a follow up email 2 weeks after he fixed my computer to check in and see if everything was working well. I highly recommend Pleasanton Computer Repair! They have great customer service, repaired my computer quickly, explained clearly what they were going to do, and provided a really great price.

Pleasanton Computer Repair is close by, so we took the computer there after speaking with them briefly on the phone. They said they will let us know in a week's time whether the computer can be repaired or not, and there are fees for diagnosing the problem. Unfortunately, a week later, no one called back. We called after a week, and they said, "Sorry, it would take a little bit longer to know whether they can get those parts." Again, nothing happened until we called about 15 days later (in the meantime, I got a cheap laptop online for my son as a replacement). These days, the kids have to rely on technology for all their schoolwork. We continued to wait and call from our side. They apologized for the delay but never followed up proactively to determine the cause of the problem. Eventually, they found the source of all the trouble and said they would order the parts from LG. Meanwhile, we had a family emergency and left the country for 15 days. Came back and still there, we have no updates on whether parts were available or not. By this time, we had given up on the computer. Then we get a call from them saying that LG does not make the parts anymore. So, finally, this place informed us two months later that nothing could be done to save our laptop. Seriously guys? You charge upfront to diagnose the issues, and we paid -- at least you should feel the moral obligation to tell the truth at the end of the long wait. Then we called LG and felt like idiots for not doing that first--LG people were surprised and confirmed that they never stop making parts. Two days later, we shipped the laptop to LG, and it was returned in a week, fully restored. I look at all these reviews and think -- either nothing major was wrong with their computers, or I can't trust Yelp anymore!

When my phone stopped working, I was completely heartbroken and stressed. I took my phone to multiple places before Robert. Each place took 3-7 days just to diagnose and then told me there was nothing they could do. I was starting to accept that those memories were gone forever. Then I found Robert. From the start, he was calm, honest, and incredibly knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issue in less than 3 hours, explained everything clearly, and gave me real hope. Even more amazing -- he was able to recover my data within a very reasonable timeline. When I saw my kid's photos again, it was an emotional moment I won't forget. If you're dealing with data that truly matters -- family photos, memories you can't replace -- don't waste time anywhere else. Robert is a lifesaver. Professional, fast, and genuinely cares about his customers. I highly, highly recommend him.

My computer crashed, and I was absolutely terrified that I had lost all of my crucial work files. While I do back up my data, I hadn't properly backed up my most current files from 2025--and I desperately needed them. I initially sent my drive to a different company that advertised a 96% success rate, but they ultimately failed and told me they couldn't recover anything. Refusing to give up, I went to Robert for a second opinion. It was the best decision I could have made. Robert was able to recover everything. Data recovery is definitely not cheap, but honestly, his service was worth every single penny.

Absolutely shady, he will do anything to get your business, but once you handover your device, you are in for a never ending wait. My first bad experience was somewhere in 2020. At that time I gave him the benefit of doubt. Recently I took my MacBook which had a blown motherboard, diagnosed by Apple authorized center. I just took it to him to see if my data can be restored. He said it may not be motherboard issues. It could also be battery issue. He tried to sell me another motherboard for around $360. Anyway I left the MacBook with him with the assurance of being called back in 1 hour. Of course I received the call, but he said the issue was with the motherboard and advised me to get the motherboard replaced. I refused and asked him to give me back my MacBook after putting the things back in. He started saying that he did not have time to put it back. Anyway after 5 hours I got it back, that too I had to personally go to his shop and wait there. He charged me $60 for diagnostics for something which Apple authorized center had already diagnosed. For what? For unscrewing and screwing back again. There was no mention of diagnosis charge when I handed the laptop. At that time also he was trying to sell the motherboard and brought down the price to less than $300. Please stay away!!!

Danville Computers was the first one to reply in minutes! I waited for other quotes to come in. Danville Computers reached out again to check if I had any questions. I picked them because they could do the job and were nearby. I am very glad to have chosen them because not only was it conveniently located (between my work and home), but the service was great! Fast and efficient. Chase is knowledgeable and professional, yet also friendly and approachable. I explained to Chase what I needed - retrieve my data from my external HD. He assured me that if he couldn't retrieve it, we still had other options. Phew! I am so thankful that my data was found! I had a couple of snags with retrieving my data when I brought my equipment home but Chase was still available to help me make sure I could retrieve and save them safely. Quote was high - and even higher if my drive was damaged. I expected it to be expensive. It took 1-1/2 days which was quicker than I thought it would be. I appreciate that Chase was still available to help me remotely with no extra charge. Thank you!!
