We were a large group of 12 people in this place couldn't be more fitting for the occasion. We enjoyed K-Pop videos, all you can eat Korean BBQ, and seating for our party was in a reserve area where we could share lots of food and enjoy each others company. The service was excellent and the food was delicious....And, just kept coming!! Many options to choose from and nothing was held back from the steaks, shrimp, bugolgi, pork belly chicken, veggies, soups, rice and noodles! Came in here by myself 10p-12:15am , and left SUPER satisfied from the 2-hour ALL YOU CAN EAT. The Skewer is great but limited to 1 per person. Definitely worth the trip and the vibe is great whether you come alone or with a group. Let's go deeper; I wish they had table tablets or at LEAST a physical menu for people to order from! The servers come, take and put in orders on the tablets and that takes time away if you're not familiar with the place or Korean BBQ in general (like me lol!). It picked up while i was there and i still think that would improve the service. Out of this world delicious. From the moment we walked in, the service was absolutely phenomenal. The staff was incredibly attentive, kind, and genuinely cared about making sure we had an amazing experience. The food was a 10 out of 10. Every bite was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. You can truly taste the love and passion behind the food. The owner was amazing and so welcoming, which made the experience even more special. It's okay. The service used to be good, but the last two visits were disappointing. Gratuity is automatically included, which I don't really agree with at a place where you cook your own food, but I understand it. What I don't understand is the poor service. 100s of times I've driven by this place... I did pop in when they first opened, just to check out the vibe and the menu. This was even before they started serving drinks! It's one of the smaller KBBQ spots that you come across, but definitely a hidden gem (in plain sight). I have quite a few KBBQ-loving friends, and I'm glad that we planned a weekday night to drop by. The festive lights outside give it curb appeal, and as soon as you step inside, you feel like you're being transported to a different place. The host podium is straight ahead, and there's a bunch of pictures to the immediate left, hiding that side of the restaurant. I later came to learn that this is a birthday photo wall. How cool is that?? I was happily greeted, and it wasn't crowded, so there was no wait time to get seated. I believe they only take reservations for parties of 5 or more now. Each table has one QR code that goes to the menu. Since it's only on the corner, I think it could benefit from being on multiple corners to folks already sitting down don't have to reach. They have a la carte and two all you can eat menus: A and B. A is their lunch special that's only available on weekdays during lunch hours, and B is available at all other times. Unsurprisingly, B has more options and is more expensive, and for now, you can do all you can drink beer for an additional $10. Personally, it's not for me because beer is filling, and all you can eat is enough, haha. Speaking of drinks, they have a full bar, and do happy hour! I believe it's all day on Sunday too. Sunday funday is real, huh? They have a nice selection of mocktails too -- they all seem pretty sweet though. So back to the food, we went through most of it... Including brisket, bulgogi (a fav), spicy bulgogi, NY steak (another fav), galbi pork... chicken skewer, thin-sliced pork belly, and more. We got the usual banchan items like sesame salad, spicy cucumber, kimchi, etc... I loved the steamed egg. The corn cheese, not so much... But mainly because I let it get cold and it got really hard. Otherwise, I appreciated that they left a pitcher of water that we could refill to our liking. Came here for the first time on Monday around 1230 pm. The restaurant was very clean and it was quiet since we came at a earlier time because of the holiday . The space was cozy as well. The service was quick and friendly, all the staff came by to check on and help us with making sure the meat was cooked properly. Everything was great and everyone was super helpful. We opted for the menu B option and both of the us were full from how much meat and sides were offered. We started with the steak, spicy bulgogi , brisket and thick pork belly for our meats. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE... food and service was so disappointing. The brisket literally turned into crumbs as it was being cooked. It looked like dog food. The bulgogi and galbi had the weirdest flavor. I'm a big fan of KBBQ and was really surprised to learn that Iron Pig sits right off of 193 in Greenbelt. The spot makes a great first impressions, the entrance was dawned with all sorts of festive lights and decorations. The inside is fairly small, perhaps 10-15 tables total with a bar that sits 5ish folks. Overall, it was very clean, well decorated, and had TVs with some classic kpop showing for all to enjoy. On a Wednesday evening around 7.30, the restaurant was fairly empty - my party was seated immediately by a very friendly host. The service was really spectacular - both the hostess and our server checked in on us regularly to fill drinks, take protein orders, and make sure we were having a great evening. The cooking grills were changed out frequently which I loved - we didn't have to worry about smokey or charred grills. There are two all you can eat options - an A side (which is only available for lunch) and a $37 B side (which we chose for dinner). Each table is provided two side dishes, the regular spread of KBBQ add ons, white rice, and a tray of sauces. We tried a slew of meats - the NY steak, skewer chicken, bulgogi, spicy bulgogi, brisket, pork belly, shrimp, and pork galbi. Everything was really really delicious - I barely used my sauces since the meats were flavorful as is. The pork galbi was my favorite by far - I got three rounds of it, it was the perfect balance of lean meat with juicy fat. I also really enjoyed the thin sliced pork belly, which I traditionally don't enjoy; the thin sliced really helped it to get crispy. The drink menu has plenty of offerings for all palettes. I decided to go with the $10 all you can drink beer (must also have the all you can eat kbbq to order). There were six brands of beer included in the deal, and the server checked in often to keep my bottle full. A regular beer is $5.....so 2+ beers makes your money back. Easy! I got the steamed egg as a side and it was nice and tasty (it's superrrr hot so be careful). The spicy chicken wasn't as spicy as I'd prefer it to be but there was definitely a little kick to it. So I had a friend pick out this place since it was close to the Greenbelt station. You could never go wrong with Korean BBQ. I've never heard about Iron Pig or even bothered to look up the reviews and just wanted to give it a shot. I will say that from the first time looking at the outside it looked promising. Although the name "Iron Pig" could be just combining the two popular Korean BBQ places (Iron Age and Honey Pig). Not sure if that was intentional. My friend and I are seated and off the bat a couple things I've noticed is how extremely small the water cups were but they did provide a water pitcher so no issues there. Also we had to ask for chopsticks which I found just a bit odd being that it's a Korean BBQ place. The server must have re-lit our grill 5 times since it kept going out. The pricing for the meals was just a little on the pricey side. I'll try to highlight what I believe to be highlights. The place is a bit smaller than the big Korean BBQ places, the decor and interior was nice and not having Korean music videos playing was nice, and the meats were ok. Unfortunately there were a bit more negative things I noticed. First, I believe that they were understaffed. There may have been 2 waitresses and they may not have understood some of the questions that were asked. When I would ask for sauce, chopsticks, or had other questions they seemed to be a bit bothered by it. When my friend ordered his drink it never came and they left it on the bill. They did remove it from the bill but we didn't have anyone really check in on us. They gave us a couple shots that we didn't order but a couple seconds later they took it back and said it was a mistake. The biggest complaint I would have is that they automatically put an 18% gratuity fee on your bill. I didn't notice it until my friend pointed it out and thought that it was bizarre since it was a party of 2. For someone that may not be looking closely at their receipt may miss it but they still leave an option to tip more. I don't think I'll be coming back to this place simply for the automatic gratuity charge. Automatic 10% maybe with the option to tip more but it would be nice if they displayed that somewhere for the customer to see. IF the food and service was phenomenal then I can understand or if the staff would let customers know then maybe but personally I didn't think it was worth it. For the most part, it's pretty reasonable per person. Because Korean BBQ is meant to be shared though, be prepared for the cost to add up quickly. - Location. Pretty good location, easy to find, and a small parking lot, which is helpful. The inside layout is pretty good, but it doesn't look like it can hold more than groups of 4-6 people. - Health and safety. All their staff wore face masks, which is reassuring. During this time of the pandemic, it's nice seeing businesses take precautions, especially when interacting with the public. What's not - Service. Their food is pretty good, but one of the things that sucks is they're not good about refilling your side dishes (or anything). You really have to be proactive in asking for anything. - Sides. They only give you a few sides- salad (that's just lettuce), a couple of kimchis, a small potato salad, and sauces. - Automatic gratuity included. There's an automatic 18% gratuity included, which I don't like and don't understand. If it's for the possible uneaten food, then add that into the cost of food, but not gratuity. Personally, hubby and I weren't impressed with their service. - Ambiance. It's not easy having a conversation with your group. I typically always tip over 20%, but the staff was poor. Part of the problem may have been that the young Latino women did not understood English very well. My friend and I came in here for lunch on a whim and were very happy we did. We did the all you can eat special. We got the bulgogi, spicy pork belly, and shrimp. The spicy pork belly was top tier as the young folks say. The spicy pork belly really won the show. Get the spicy pork belly over the other pork bellys, you'll be glad you did. If you don't eat pork then go with the bulgogi. All the other sides you get are good accoutrements as well. When you come, come with an empty stomach ready to be filled with deliciousness. When I got an alert from Yelp that a new KBBQ joint had opened nearby, I was eager to try it, then skeptical when I saw the prices. Could the food be that good? Spoiler alert - YES! Iron Pig almost qualifies as a hidden gem despite being on a main artery. It's in a small building across from Beltway Plaza, obscured by the KFC just west. Entry is only from eastbound Greenbelt Road, which is divided at that point. Inside is a bar (license pending) with dining areas on both sides. Big screen TV with the obligatory K-pop at reasonable volume. Booths with grills, some padded some bare wood. High ceiling with decorative frames that look like pvc tubing. Well lit. Very good kimchi, pickled daikon, and bean sprouts. Standard potato salad, romaine cut like Caesar salad rather than whole for ssam. Not impressed with sauces but I've been spoiled by the bar at Kpot. I started with plain pork belly and beef bulgogi. Marinated to perfection, no dip needed. Likewise the spicy chicken. The spicy pork belly was true meat candy. The theme here is the marinade, where many places skimp. Deep flavor and tender meat, but does coat the grill quickly. No problem, changed as needed using a smartly designed square steel bucket. Top quality meat, I was not surprised to see A5 Wagyu offered a la carte. Very cordial service. I went with three friends on Valentine's Day, and the restaurant was very busy and understaffed. We called ahead and they told us it will be a 45 min wait but ended up being an hour. Then they called us inside, just to wait another 15 mins before seating us. There were only two servers working that night, so we tried to be patient and understanding. The servers were kind, but the service itself was not very good. When we were seated, we were not given menus or utensils. When they took our drink orders, I was the only one who asked for water, but it never came, so I had to ask again. Throughout the night we had to repeat our orders or ask for items multiple times before receiving them. When we received the check, the tip had already been included, which may explain the level of service. We chose the bulgogi, New York steak, and thick cut pork belly. We also got rice, corn cheese, and steamed egg as our sides. For banchan they had a bit more options than other places like: kimchi, pickled radish, spicy cucumber, potato salad, and salad. The meats we had were extremely good and especially the thick cut pork belly, which basically melted in your mouth. One of the most disappointing kbbq experiences I've ever had. I wouldn't even call it a kbbq restaurant. IT IS NOT. The moment we sat down and were served FORKS instead of chopsticks, I knew we were at the wrong place. I had to ask for chopsticks! WTH. Additionally, I'm not sure if he was the owner or manager, but he was "helping" with one of the grills that we were using. He was "cooking" the pork belly and while it still needed more cooking time, he told my sister in law that it was already cooked. She could definitely see that the meat was still raw. It was pale! He also kept lowering and increasing the fire while the meat was still cooking. I get it when the meat is cooked and you're not ready for the next set of raw meat, but the pork was still getting cooked! He honestly needs to review his Servsafe certification. He might learn some things about food safety. I guess he was offended when we didn't agree to him trying to get us sick from the raw meat that he left the table and gave us an attitude about it. We had a person that could not eat pork. We told the server before she placed meat on to the grill so she was aware of no pork on one of the grills. Place overall represents kbbq well. Highlights cheap, fast, choices. Came here on a july fourth holiday and did not have to wait. There was two other parties. There are two areas, one main room the other is a party room. Very spacious seems to be able to hold 15-20 parties. There is also a bar area. Banchan: less variety than im used to. Also less traditional korean side dishes. Price is definitely worth the amount. There is an option for all you can eat which i think would be worth it if you are very hungry. The quality of meat is alright, 3/5, not the best i had. They give you a option for sides if you order ala carte or combo. We got corn and soup which was okay. Service is fantastic. Pretty terrible honestly. I don't really understand all the good reviews. If you already know a KBBQ spot you like, this place will probably ruin your expectations. The only good thing we had was rice and brisket. Bulgogi tasted a little weird, steak was bland... do NOT get the skewers. I think they just use store bought taco seasoning to marinate? Was excited to try this new KBBQ spot near me, but unfortunately Iron Pig did not deliver. I really wanted to like this place, but the food missed the mark. We had the AYCE and $36.99 pp is a bit steep for what we got here and the quality of meats. Just a few ban chan (side dishes) that were decent. Those three special sides - corn cheese, deonjang soup and steamed egg - you only get to choose two. IMO, if you're charging $36.99, give the table all three instead of two. A few more suggestions for improvement - the lettuce wraps could be of better quality, and the garlic we asked for would've been better sliced for the grill versus the chopped. Lastly, maybe include the sesame oil sauce (I asked for it and they kindly brought it out to us) as one of the main dipping sauces. The meats from the AYCE we suggest if you do end up dining here - the brisket, NY steak and spicy pork. Not a fan of the "bulgogi" at all, the meat was different than the typical meat used for bulgogi. FYI, I've had KBBQ throughout the DMV and also in S. Korea (also home since I'm a halfie). Service and staff were the best parts of our experience. Super attentive, friendly and even the manager (possibly owner, not sure) checked on us. The restaurant is clean and spacious.
