The food was fantastic, the service was fast, and the prices were reasonable. Portion sizes could have been a but larger though.

My solo reservation was at 10 p.m., which was perfect timing for me. Similar to their former sister restaurant, Huncho House, I was offered a complimentary glass of champagne prior to being seated. The decor and ambiance at 1123 were noticeably more upscale, and I really enjoyed the overall experience. I honestly wish I hadn't waited until their final days to try it. I really wanted the Chuck Rice & Oxtails, but they had just run out. So, I opted for the Lobster Jollof instead, and it was delicious! But the Star of the night was the Charbroiled Oysters. These were, hands down, the best oysters I've ever had in my life! They were deliciously washed down with the Lavender Lotus cocktail. The night ended with the Plantain Bread Pudding. It was very dense, and I didn't really taste much of the plantain flavor. I took two bites, decided it needed some help; maybe soak it in some Baileys Irish Cream at home. Unfortunately, after taking photos, I left my To-Go bag at the restaurant. Overall, I'm glad I finally made it to 1123 before the end of its run in the DMV. It's always a little bittersweet when a restaurant closes.

I'd suggest getting pickled radish with chicken. Best side is the potstickers which also come in different sauce flavors. Edamame and kimchi sides are just okay, which is interesting considering how simple they are. Didn't like the bibimbap or chicken katsu , rice was overcooked and chicken was flavorless. They offer takeout, sit down, and have a bar as well. Staff is always friendly, speedy, and helpful.

Christmas…read moreshopping at PG PLAZA leads to the inevitable chorus of "I'm hungry" from my kids who are always angling for a way to eat "out" food. After considering our options, we settled for Bonchon as likely a more healthy option. Wrong. We walked in and the lady had an attitude. Knowing Koreans like Jamaicans always have an attitude, I persevered in telling her that we needed a table for 7. The restaurant was totally empty as it was a Wednesday night, and her furrow dropped even lower when I told the kids no Thai teas or boba at 7pm as this was dinner not a treat and it was too much sugar lol. We ordered 16 wings with soy garlic and spicy sauce, Korean tacos, chicken fried rice, vegetarian udon noodle soup with mushroom, bulgogi bibimbap and a chicken bibimbap. The long and short of it was, the food was good and most people cleaned their plate. They don't have a kid's menu so I usually have my 14 yo daughter and 6yo son share an entree because she's picky and he's greedy. My 10yo son ordered chicken fried rice which was MASSIVE. I gave his sister and his brother some rice, and he also had some Wings and one of his sister's tacos. I heard not a peep as he devoured every bite. It was a quiet meal. We do a lot of chatting at the table normally and it wasn't that late! My 17 yo son-who eats like it's his full time job - couldn't finish his bulgogi bibimbap ( or so we thought). He asked for a box and then ate it all out of the to go box. The 10yo got an extra lunch out of the chicken fried rice even after sharing with his siblings and my oldest daughter (20) got 2 full meals from her spicy chicken bibimbap. There were rave reviews on the spicy wings, Korean tacos with both soy garlic and spicy chicken and the chicken bulgogi. My son who ordered the bulgogi didn't rave but he did fully make a glutton of himself, so I'd say that speaks for itself. I had the noodle soup and it was massive. It made a comfortable three meals for me and the broth was so nicely seasoned- it would be PERFECT for being sick and ordering carry away. Overall, I think the bad reviews are for the service. She was efficient, the food was plated beautifully and it was all good. The only standout mistake was she forgot my daughter's order of kimchi and when she brought it, it had not fermented wholly and it was SWEET!!??!!!! The mind REELS. We did not enjoy it. If you like kimchi, maybe don't order it here lol. Overall 3.5/5 rounding up instead of down because she wasn't rude, just morose and terse, and the food was amazing.

It's also a short walk from Takoma Metro. Cute and casual place. I didn't need reservations on Friday night or Monday night coming around 6:30 or 7 PM. It's probably harder and bigger groups but if you're just coming in two or four or even six, it should be pretty manageable. My favorite here is the pad Thai. I get extra lime and the spicy tray. And it's one of the best pad Thais I've had. The drunken noodles was OK and the green curry was OK for me. Not bad but also not what I'd be returning for (I'm coming back for pad thai!) my husband loved the green curry though. Service is pleasant and nothing over the top and water is topped off timely manner. Absolutely no complaints. They have two single stall bathrooms and that's kept pretty clean. They're outside seating is for takeout so that's kind of pleasant if you wanna do takeout and just eat it outside.

We were all craving some good Caribbean food, but unfortunately, this experience was really lackluster and did not live up to the reviews The service was frustrating. The girl at the register seemed to be on her phone the whole time, I couldn't tell if she was calculating something or just talking, but she definitely missed the mark on our order. We specifically asked for Steak and Cheese Egg Rolls with no mushrooms. By the time we got home, we realized she gave us Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls instead. They were a mess; sauce was all over the container and the fries, and the chicken inside was incredibly dry and overcooked. Surprisingly, the Fried Rice was really good, which isn't the first thing I'd associate with a Caribbean spot. The Jerk Fried Chicken Sandwich was also a standout and one of the best things we had. Our friends ordered the Rasta Pasta, which was very heavy and spicy, and the Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas. They had asked for wings but got dry grilled strips instead, which was disappointing. My Cabbage and Collard Greens were also pretty average--I've definitely had better. Between the order being wrong, the dry chicken, and the distracted service, it just wasn't what I hoped for. It was an okay meal, but nothing I'd recommend or go back for. Definitely inspect your bag before you leave this place. Sorry about the pitiful picture I was so annoyed and remembered after I made a plate to snap a quick pic.
