Not our car ... parked in front of the coffee shop

This is the other coffee shop in Ballston Spa and while Coffee Planet seems more homey and kitschy, this shop is more upscale. They sell a variety of quiches and pies to take home. The pear scone and blueberry muffin were excellent. I know I reported that the chocolate croissant from coffee planet was good, which it was. But, the pastries at Iron Roost are a so much better. It's like a Gordan Ramsey burger vs. Five guys. They are both good, but one of them is in a different category. The Chai latte here was also well done and my wife liked the dark roast coffee more than at Coffee Planet. Both coffee shops have their place in Ballston Spa and are worthwhile, just for different things. There was a awesome car show happening in front of the coffee shop, which added to the overall ambience and contributed to the excessive amount of flannel shirts being worn by the customers.

Absolutely love this brunch place. We stopped by on a Tuesday morning before wrapping up our trip to Saratoga Springs. Plenty of parkings outside but this place is packed inside. Thankfully I joined waitlist on Yelp on my way and we got seated right after we placed our order. My matcha latte is awesome! We got the southwest fiesta, early riser, toasted berry waffle, and the New Yorker. All of them were amazing and fulfilling. It's so family friendly and such a fun place with amazing decorations for a gathering.

I happened to be in Ballston Spa to meet with a colleague and looked up "vegan breakfast". I came upon Iron Roost. I ordered the very berry waffles and a latte. Everything was great. I wanted to sit and dine but the wait was about 40 minutes so I decided to order my food to go. It was packed perfectly as not to get soggy. I will definitely be back to dine in soon.

Just visited this little gem in downtown Ballston Spa. Street parking was not a problem thankfully! Cute little cafe style eatery/coffee shop with additional goods to buy up front. You order at the counter first and then get a table after ordering. It takes a little bit to get used to but the staff were very friendly and told you exactly how things worked. Food was good and you can tell most (if not all of it) was local. The sourdough was chef's kiss!

Service is great! Super friendly with awesome food! Highly recommend whenever I'm in the area!

I had a great meal at the Iron Roost many years ago but somehow never did a review. I went back with friends recently and had another great meal....and took pics this time. I didn't remember ordering first and then choosing a table, but maybe it's been that way for a while. I love the chill vibe and super friendly staff. They have a great menu and had some excellent specials. Everything is made to order, served hot and fresh. I had the special egg sandwich and it was perfect. Rave reviews on all of the other meals. I really need to get here more often.

One of my favorite places to visit when I come home. Waffles, soup, baked goods and yummy coffee and tea

Can't believe it took me so long to come here! I had the french toast latte and berry bliss waffle with bacon and it was delicious. The waffle was fluffy and the side of bacon was a generous serving. I think my favorite was the whipped cream. It was so thick and creamy!

Iron Roost always delivers quality service, a warm, inviting atmosphere, and stellar food. I've never been disappointed. They cater to all different tastes and dietary needs. Their lemon berry waffle is my favorite sweet waffle and the southwest fiesta is my favorite savory waffle. But waffles aren't all they have...their bakery items are also top-notch! The only thing that I can complain about is their hours. Since Covid they aren't open on Sundays anymore and closed on most Saturdays. This is when I, and most people, can come. Now I just go on special occasions when I have off and can go during the week. But my Sunday morning breakfast with my husband there is no longer a thing...and that makes me sad. I hope one day they can reopen consistently on the weekends. But if not, I'll be sure to visit on my time off.

Such a perfect little place nestled into the storefronts of Ballston Spa. You order and pay at the counter and they bring everything to you. We had the quiche of the day-bacon, cheddar and scallion and split a berry waffle special. To drink we got iced lattes. So fresh-farm to table- perfection. They also had frozen meals, bakery items, specialty items and other grab and go items. Definitely worth the stop!

We arrived right when they opened at 10 a.m. and were seated immediately, which was great. We initially considered sitting inside, but the smell of eggs was so overwhelming/nauseating that we opted for outdoor seating instead. The patio was charming and cozy. The service was friendly, attentive, and one of the highlights of our visit. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. We all ordered the brunch tower, which included a "fruit salad" that consisted of squishy grapes, sour Granny Smith apple chunks, and canned mandarin oranges. The fruit tasted low quality and unappetizing, and I only managed a few bites. I also ordered the bananas foster crepe, which was severely overcooked. The crepe was so tough that I needed a knife to cut through it, and the texture was far from what I would expect from a crepe. Overall, while the service was pleasant and seating was prompt, the food quality left a lot to be desired, especially considering the price point.

Lately there have been a lot of reviews for this spot from other yelpers about this spot…read more When I first read it, I was like, where is this breakfast spot in Ballston Spa. I'm not beven exaggerating, but I have probably passed this spot like a 1000 times and didn't know this was a deli spot. A big tip here, make sure you market it properly as only locals who have tried would be aware of it. And guess what, this local never knew and mistook it for a convenience store. The deli has a lot of potential with a little upgrades. The deli has few spots for indoor seating and an amazing spot with picnic benches, in the woods with a view of a creek. The deli has been voted Saratogas best multiple times. I just got to know it but, this deli is listed for sale. We tried an eggplant panini and a chicken cheese steak. Both of which were good. We took the tiramisu to go. They do get a few bakerybitems from NYC everyday. Small local restaurant that is definitely worth a try. They have ample parking and could get crowded.

This is an unfortunate update. The original operator has since retired and sold the business…read moreseveral months ago to a new owner who is running the deli. This is my first time through since the turnover. Right away you can see the decor that used to cover the walls, giving this spot massive character, is gone, hopefully that is something to be added by the new owners going forward. There are some things from my experience that may be chalked up to the recent turnover such as a messed up order that was fixed and the longer than typical wait for this type of food, but the quality of the food also took a hit. The sandwich was mediocre and the muffin was incredibly dry.
