This place was buzzing on a Saturday morning! We were seated right away and our food also came out quickly. Prices aren't too bad either! French toast was our fave!

Banana bread item with no nuts noted

I would like to begin by saying that we have been loyal customers of this restaurant for many years. Throughout that time, we have never had any complaints or issues and have often spoken highly of both the food and customer service. Unfortunately, our experience on Mother's Day was deeply concerning. My boyfriend and I visited for breakfast and ordered the banana bread. At no point on the menu was it indicated that the item contained nuts. My boyfriend has a tree nut allergy and unknowingly consumed walnuts in the banana bread. Shortly after returning home, he suffered a severe anaphylactic reaction that required emergency medical attention. We ultimately had to call an ambulance and spend the day in the emergency room. Following this incident, we contacted the restaurant multiple times to explain what had happened. Our primary goal was to bring awareness to the issue so that the menu could be updated and future customers with food allergies would be properly informed. We were repeatedly told that someone would follow up with us, but no one did. When we were finally able to speak with a manager weeks later, my boyfriend was told that he "should have assumed there were nuts" in the banana bread. We found this response both dismissive and disappointing given the severity of the situation. We were then informed that the matter would be discussed with upper management, including the possibility of refunding our meal, and that someone would contact us again. Unfortunately, after missing a return call, we promptly reached out via text message and provided several times when we would be available to speak. Although the manager acknowledged our message, we never received any further communication. We are extremely disappointed by how this situation was handled, particularly given that it involved a life-threatening allergic reaction. What began as an effort to raise awareness and prevent a similar incident from happening to someone else was met with a lack of follow-through and accountability. As a result, despite being longtime customers, we have made the decision not to dine here again.

I will blow in the wind like a seed Short Ribs Eggs Benedict from #IronTownGrill

All the things I depend on for breakfast aren't at all crazy. I just need a good number of choices, good service, and access to copious amounts of coffee when empty. Iron Town provides this in spades. I also absolutely adored the short rib Benedict. Not only did I have more meat than I was expecting, but the change-up of putting it over hash browns instead of English muffins was a good switch-up. This has now become a go-to option for breakfast in the area.

Soup (chicken and escarole) it was very good.

Went for breakfast and had my usually. Corn beef hash with two eggs, bagel grilled and French fries instead of home fries. YUMMMY. The cons: this is not an inexpensive place for breakfast. Coffee, while refillable, is $4. Our breakfast was just over $50 for two. They upcharge for the bagel, add for cream cheese making it almost $20 for one before the $4 coffee or iced tea. With that I will keep coming back as they have the best corn beef hash around. This visit the place was super cute decorated with tons of balloons for Valentine's Day which gave the place a really cute vibe. Service is hit or miss here depending on the waitress and how busy they are. Sometimes your flagging someone down for coffee refills others they are on it. It's definitely inconsistent.

The corned beef is large chunks, not small diced pieces found in most commercial and canned hash. The potatoes, peppers, and onions gave a nice texture and flavor. I had it topped with two over medium eggs which were perfectly cooked. As I was eyeing the French toast, he gave me a single piece which included their fruit infused whipped cream and was really, really good! That might be my entree next time. My friend got the crepes and her face was doing happy expressions while she was eating. My new best friend Maria kept my coffee mug full-she visited the table frequently to make sure my mug never got low nor cold. She also took care to clean the table promptly as plates were finished. Now if my kids could learn that... oh wait, this is a diner review. The ambiance is cute and chic. There was easy access to accommodate wheel chairs and they have their menu clearly marked for gluten free available and vegan options (most of the menu). The menu is on the fancier side; they will prepare whatever someone wants (e.g. if someone just wants 2 eggs and bacon, they can easily do that). The location is on Main St. so parking is hit or miss. If you are nearby and want something good, this is a good option!

Early Harvest Diner in Wakefield, MA is a solid neighborhood breakfast spot with a…read moresmall-to-medium-sized dining room and a good amount of seating. They offer regular table seating, counter seats, and booths. The booths, however, are pretty uncomfortable--despite having a cushion, you immediately feel the wooden board underneath when you sit down, which takes away from the experience a bit. We went around 11:00 AM on a Saturday and were seated quickly with no wait, though I can imagine on a busier morning there could be a decent wait time given the diner's size. The menu has a good variety, but pricing can be a little confusing. Some menu prices don't always reflect the final cost due to fluctuating egg prices. There is a sticker noting this, but it's easy to miss and may not be obvious to customers. We ordered the steak and eggs, which came out to $20 and was cooked nicely to a true medium rare. The hash browns weren't overdone and had a great crunch on the outside. The pancake we tried was very fluffy, and their iced coffee was genuinely delicious. We also ordered the Double Double, which also cost $20 and offered a decent portion of food for the price, along with sausage links as a side. They do offer real maple syrup for waffles or pancakes, though it costs extra. One thing I found to be a flaw is that the maple syrup and ketchup on the table had no labels--personally, I like knowing the brand or ingredients of what I'm eating. The same went for the hot sauce they offered; it was served in an unlabeled glass bottle. It tasted very similar to Frank's RedHot and had the same consistency, but it would be nice to know for sure. The staff is kind and attentive when it comes to taking your order and delivering food, but once the plates hit the table, check-ins are minimal. If you need something, you may have to flag someone down. Parking isn't bad since it's located in a plaza, and there's additional parking in the back if the main lot fills up. Overall, Early Harvest Diner is a nice place to grab breakfast with your family or significant other without breaking the bank. The food quality is solid, but the vibe could benefit from a refresh to feel a bit more cozy and modern.

Our waitress was not the most pleasant but the rest of the supporting team were superb so for that reason, I'm not going to hold it against the establishment because all around the rest of our customer service experience was terrific. The food is good diner food. It's a diner so don't expect too much ambience. Just expect to be seated and to enjoy some food. I will say the food also arrived very timely. That's good to make out of. I highly recommend getting the patriot you will not regret it. It is an indulgence, but there's fruit involved so consider that Points for yourself sit down and enjoy really a nice fine.
