What a great find! I was looking for a place to have breakfast on the way to the airport. Lynn was a perfect midway point and I found Brothers Deli on Yelp. Very large inside with lots of tables. Different format, it's not table service. You grab a tray and go thru sort of a cafeteria type line. We came for breakfast and our food was made fresh while we waited. It was fun to see them prepping and cooking our meals. We definitely wanted to fill.ip.before our Long flight home. We both ordered eggs dishes with home fries along with an order of blueberry pancakes. I had Eggs Benedict. Ham had a nice smoked flavor and the eggs were runny as they should be! My husband had Srambled eggs with bacon, excellent. Those blueberry pancakes were so good!not sure what's in that batter but some if the best pancakes we have had! My family, friends and I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. The establishment has always been under the same ownership and they pride themselves on their service and food. It's very much a local spot where everything is diner-vibe food including their breakfast, lunch, dinner and specials. Some of my favorites are their meatloaf dinners, breakfast sandwiches and more. Brothers is across the street in "The Agora;" a ubiquitous shopping strip in downtown Lynn. Yeah it's no frills but it's definitely kept very clean and it's spacious; so you won't have to worry about being too close & scaring other patrons away. But, you honestly don't give a shit anyway; you want some steaming-hot, home-cooked goodness in your belly STAT! AND,..Brothers won't let you down: FIRST, they greet you like you made a surprise visit home for Thanksgiving. SECOND? THEY HAVE AMERICAN FUCKING CHOP SUEY!!!!!!!!!!!! (it's awesome) They also have other delicious offerings including a New Jersey Dineresque selection of Daily Specials, and of course they serve breakfast all day. Located in downtown Lynn for more years than I can remember, George and his crew have been on the money on every sandwich, salad, breakfast or dinner I've had. The food is not fancy and is served cafeteria style. You basically get in line like high school and grab a tray, your silverware and wait your turn to give your order from behind a counter . Everything is plated right in front of you. The salad bar is first, and they pile it high, next is the deli meats and grill and at the finish there are trays of dinners waiting to be viewed. Once you give your order it is usually a minute or two that's it, to plate your entire meal with chooses of sides, Then down the tray bars and a quick turn for your soups, breads, deserts and drinks. This is an update... read the original for this to make any sense... This place is still great, just the things below have cost it a star. It is with great sadness that I deduct a star from this place. I was originally teetering between giving it four or five, and now the five becomes a four. So, why am I deducting a star? First, the fries now come in smaller portions, there is still a generous helping, and it cuts back on waste, but still, decreasing portion sizes are not a good indicator. Second, I've realized the french toast (as stated in last review) is not the greatest I've ever had. Third, the gyro tends to be inconsistent, (sometimes balance of ingredients is way off) and while I once had it with perfectly cooked lamb and pork, I once had it with beef - which was chunky and chewy (possibly undercooked) Fourth, Bacon is now cooked and stored in a container on the griddle (still fresh, but not hot off the griddle fresh) Finally, while I have never gotten sick, some cooks here cook without gloves. In a clean kitchen (which this is) I have no problems with cooks not wearing gloves. However, giving a handshake and then continuing cooking seems a bad idea (not knowing where the guy's hands have been) read more

My favorite place in Lynn. super close to the train station. It is a home style diner that i love. They have food displayed in large trays behind the counter and you can pick you plates. We got the lamb leg dinner plate with sides of corn and mashed potato. The lamb leg was cooked to perfection! super tender and juicy. Plus the owner is the sweetest soul on earth! He is super friendly and chatty. He learned that we came from Boston to see stars in Nahant and he ended up giving us lots of insights of where to go! Will definitely come back! read more

Stumbled into this joint recently on a whim, while stranded in Lynn with time to kill. Cafeteria style set up, but quite confusing on how things are priced and how to order. You basically tell them what you want and then someone rings you up on a seperate register. Ordered a Reuben and it was decent, but super sloppy. The place seems to cater to the senior community, judging by the amount of old timers that were enjoying meals inside. Last week, I had a very unfortunate encounter with a Corned Beef Sandwich at Persey's Place in Plymouth, where the menu actually challenged diners to compare their Corned Beef Sandwich with any other in the country.... Well, to make a long story short, after that insult to my taste buds, I couldn't stop thinking about the Corned Beef Sandwiches at Brother's Deli of Lynn, which had initially come to mind when presented with Persey's challenge. Brothers of Lynn is sort of an old fashioned cafeteria style restaurant. You enter the line, picking up a tray and silverware (unless you're getting to go), and move along through the cold and hot stations where attendants will serve whatever items you choose. The first station is the sandwich board, where you specify the details of sandwiches, salads and other short-order items. Besides the excellent Corned Beef, there are several specialty sandwiches (all are $5.75) with names like "Madison" and "Scollay Square" that add various ingredients in classic combinations that result in delicious sandwiches. Today, I chose the "New Yorker", which adds Coleslaw, Swiss Cheese, and Russian Dressing to a hefty portion of lean and tender Corned Beef. Of course, such a perfect sandwich comes with a perfect dill pickle. For an additional $2.75, I added a side of Potato Salad. It's actually a huge bowl of Potato Salad, and very delicious too. Not just dreary chunks of potato with too much mayonnaise, Brothers of Lynn's Potato Salad is a creamy mixture of potato chunks and mashed potatoes, seasoned with a tangy dressing that makes it very yummy. My bottom line comparison of the awful sandwich in Plymoth, was that if Brothers of Lynn's Corned Beef Sandwich rated four stars, that place didn't deserve even one. And today, my taste buds were indeed reassured that corned beef does not have to be dried up and horrible. So there, Persey. This place is the best hands down. I travel alot for work and come here everyday when I am in town Huge portions, GREAT staff and this place runs like a well oiled machine. Family atmosphere and really laid back. I bring my whole crew in at lunch and have no complaints from anyone just compliments on why we can't find a place like this back home. Every time I go in there I almost always have a good conversation with the employees & the owner, they are all very nice people which makes the place more enjoyable, they make me feel at home. This place is amazing! Food is made in seconds, and a very fair price. Quality of food was great. A lot of breakfast places make their food far too heavy. I stopped here before the gym and was able to complete my whole workout (cardio included) after this meal. The portions are very generous too! But what really drew me in are the people that work here and own the shop. There was an elderly woman in front of me in line and the owner greeted her by name with her order in seconds (already had it memorized). The owner made friendly chatter with everyone - as did all the cooks. The owner felt like your sweetheart uncle that you never had. I have no issues with the quality of the food at this restaurant, rather an issue with following serving guidelines during this covid-19 pandemic. On 2 occasions including today, I've noticed servers working the steam table service( this is a Greek diner cafeteria style) with their masks abound their necks not covering their faces while serving food. In fact the. Owner was guilty of that today. I choose not to patronize this restaurant any further as they choose not to follow established guidelines to keep the public safe from harm during this pandemic. I'm sorry to say this because I've been a loyal patron for many years but I find it unacceptable to act in such a reeckless manner. Prices have gone up and that is to be expected but not at the risk of my health and the well being of others. I have come to the conclusion that whenever a restaurant is called "Brothers," it is always owned by Greek or Greek-American guys, always is a cafeteria setup, and always, always serves humungous portions of filling, wholesome and tasty -- but not fancy -- food. The Brothers on Market St., Lynn, is no different. I eat there when I'm waiting for my vehicle to get serviced over at Goodyear, or taking a break from other downtown Lynn errands, and I try something different each time. The BBQ chicken is delish, and I wonder whether the leg is really from an ostrich or something, because I didn't think they could grow chickens that big to get a thigh/drumstick that huge. Stuffed peppers were a tad overcooked so the peppers were pale and a little mushy, which is how I always expect them at any Brothers deli/restaurant, in any town, but there are two to a serving, the filling can be cooked forever and will still be tasty (rice/hamburg/a touch of herbs and spices), the size is generous and the sauce is yummy. With a mound of mashed spuds and cooked, sliced carrots, it's a big meal and I took a styrofoam box of it home and got two more meals out of it. The desserts include Greek-style rice pudding that is creamy and not too sweet, and a selection of more humdrum stuff like Jell-o and commercially made cakes and pies. But so what. It's what you get in this sort of place, and it's fine. The coolest thing about the Brothers in Lynn is that it seems to be the lunchtime hub for the local businessmen and the politicians from City Hall nearby. They all work each other's tables, shaking hands or air-kissing, hobnobbing, talking shop. One time I was there, the owner of a local lumber store was meeting with an aide from the governer's committee on low-cost housing, and they were talking about planning a public-service project. Brother's Deli's breakfasts and dinners are Amazing and I am so grateful that they are open during these trying times. During the pandemic, they are only doing curbside. Last night, I had the most amazing lamb and my husband had the pork which he said was delicious. On the weekends, we have been getting breakfasts and let me tell you I've gotten to the point where I start craving their delicious omelettes. On Saturday and Sunday, I got a vegetable Omelette with cheese and it was so flavorful that I ate it within ten minutes. Yes, it was that good. What can I say about this place but that it truly is a family place that everyone knows your name. The food is always fresh the people are always welcoming the staff is humble an generous. I am in here at least twice a week when I am in town if not more. They serve breakfast all day. I ate everything from a BLT to Pancakes to Pasta.
