Great spot for takeout! We enjoyed a long day of hiking and wanted to get back to our air B and B to enjoy dinner with our amazing views! They made this plan so easy-called in our large order which was ready quickly. Crab Rangoon was a good appetizer. Hibachi came in a carton of the meat with the two veggies in the side, it could have used more sauce but was still good with the addition of soy sauce. Chicken with veggies and Asian that chicken were phenomenal, nice grilled chicken. Sesame chicken was also really good. The rice came in individual boxes for each order which was nice. Only downfall was the pad Thai, it wasn't like usual pad Thai I'm not sure if they forgot the sauce or not? It was edible but not very good. read more

EXCELLENT! On a short cabin retreat vacation to Bryson City, NC, we treated ourselves to take-out (not willing to risk Covid19 exposure at other dine-in restaurants where masks were not exactly 'prevalent') and were incredibly surprised to find the quality of food we experienced at Iron Wok - high quality ingredients, freshly prepared, efficient curb-side pickup. My seafood dish (shrimp, scallions and imitation crab meat) ranked very high on my list of anything I've experienced (and I've done some dining all around the world). But, the absolute biggest surprise was the Fresh Basil Spring Rolls - WOW! Delicious and refreshing with perfectly prepared vegetables and tender chicken. Even the chicken egg rolls were incredible, not greasy and very flavorful. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. This is the second time I travel to Bryson City and the second time I order from Iron Wok. Both times I've ordered the Habachi steak and chicken. Portions are great, food is good (especially the veggies/fried rice/meat) and they are super organized with curb side pick up. I simply love picking up the food and taking it back to the hotel especially because the distances can be a bit tricky and driving in unknown roads at night in the mountains is quite an adventure. read more

I was happy that a new place opened in Bryson City and it was something different. I've been there 3 times now but I can't readily say I'll go back. The food is not bad, but it's not good either. I guess I keep going back hoping that they added more flavor to the food, but alas... I've talked to others in town who agree. The Pad Thai, asked for as hot, Thai spicy, came not spicy at all and needed more flavor in general. Its like they forgot to add any peanut flavor. The Mongolian Beef was saucy and generally lacked flavor. General Tso was probably the best thing I've eaten there, but it was way to saucy for my taste. Crab Rangoon is excellent. Fried rice, spring rolls and egg rolls are pretty good. Servers are really nice and everyone is super helpful with great service. The place looks nice but the owner was at the register when our party walked in for lunch and we were not acknowledged immediately. She was organizing receipts. We enjoyed one of the 4 dishes ordered. When we said the crab Rangoon had almost no filling, the owner said that she wants it that way and will not add more filling. No crab and barely any cream cheese. The spring rolls were mostly just wrapper, again very little filling. The shrimp in the Kung Pao Shrimp was rubbery and the dish was not spicy. The waiter did bring chili oil when I asked. I ordered fried rice for the side dish, it was brown steamed rice. When I asked the waiter about it, he said that WAS the fried rice. The pad Thai was good. The owner said she couldn't afford to change and did not care if people don't like it. It was quite a shocking response, especially from an owner, as she identified herself as. Will not return. Which seems to fit the business model, as described. I guess there are enough tourists that aren't likely to return anyway. Since this seems to be the only Chinese restaurant in Bryson City, there is no real incentive for the owner to offer more than the mediocre food we received. The prices on their website are not updated so be aware that the current prices are approximately 30% higher. read more

This place has a variety of different asian cuisines on the menu. I had the green curry and the vegetables were fresh and crisp and there was a generous portion of nice sized shrimp. However the sauce was lacking in spicy heat. My wife had a hibachi dish which was well executed. read more

Wow. In these smaller towns where it tends to be diner style fare with lots of fried food and sandwiches, it was nice to find this gem with fresh, made to order, sit down Asian dishes. The atmosphere is super clean (bordering classy!). They were playing some light cello music on the speakers which was nice. Service was excellent. The food was perfect. My fiancée is super picky about pad Thai and she loved hers. In fact, it's the first time I've seen her finish the entire plate. I did the Spicy Thai basil chicken and asked for extra spicy. Not only did they deliver with extra chili and pepper flakes, they put sides of two different hot sauces with it. And the portions were nice. I'm a big guy with a big appetite. So when a dish comes out, i think, "That's not a lot." But I could barely finish this. Lastly, I like to start my Asian meals with Hot and Sour soup. Unfortunately I didn't get any heat BUT it had a deep, earthy mushroom flavor that is hard to find. House Lo Mein takeout. Noodles really overcooked. Also, was packed into a container that was too small for the amount of food so the heat made the noodles even gooier. This place looks like the "run of the mill" Chinese restaurant, but it is far from it. We went in and we're seated accordingly. Me and my wife ordered the General Tsos Chicken. In my opinion the Restaurant is only as good as it's Chicken, and this place has probably the best General Chicken in Western NC.
