First and foremost, the food was delicious. The server was on point and everyone from the young man who took our reservation to the delightful young lady who bussed our tables were amazing. We had a party of 8 who were visiting Bryson City and decided to eat here one night. Easy to get a reservation and actually enjoyed the process as the young man answering the phone and who eventually sat us when we arrived was having such a great time and was fun to talk to. When we arrived, we had to wait a few minutes, not a big deal at all. Gave us a chance to get a delicious cocktail from the bar. We were seated outside near the river, which was perfect. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable. Even the young lady who was bussing the tables stopped by and answered a couple of questions for us and was an absolute ball of sunshine. The food arrived and as I said before was delicious. The ONLY issue we had was with the manager, Joe. I'm hoping he was just having an off night, but what a miserable person he seemed to be. Not at all the same vibe the rest of the staff was giving off. He was outright mean to them and even berated them in front of customers. Not sure why he is in the position he is in, but am guessing that is why his staff is all so young. Seasoned industry professionals would probably not put up with his attitude and general lack of professionalism. Will we return? Probably. But hope that he can figure out that he has a great situation that would have been perfect if he had not made a scene and tarnished our evening. read more

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of enjoying several incredibly delicious dishes at Tuck and Table in Bryson City, NC. The service was AMAZING! We weren't sure if we could get a table due to it being such a busy holiday weekend, but we were seated right away! Every employee we encountered was extremely polite and accommodating. The kindness, attentiveness, beautiful lighting, and views of the Tuckasegee River creates a serene, laid back and inviting ambiance. The homemade banana pudding is a must!! Dont leave without trying it! You will not be disappointed. The deep fried oysters were prepared perfectly and the dipping sauce was perfection! The seared ahi tuna with a toasted sesame crust served over udon noodles and veggies was a treat for the tastebuds as well! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner. Wow, what a pleasant gentleman! We were a party of 9 and got seated fast for lunch at 1230 on a Saturday as they were only about 30% full. Things started out great. The server was friendly and the place was nice overall. Things went downhill fast. An appetizer ordered late came out first ... the rest took forever. First entrees delivered (slow) was lukewarm, only 4 people got food. The next wave of food came out about about 10 minutes later. 3 people still had no food and a substitution request was delivered to another table. Things got weird after that. Staff was apparently flustered but just blaming each other, not really apologizing. A manager (presumably) showed up and promised to fix it, but never showed up again. He was eating his own lunch as we left. The final 2 meals came out a full 20 minutes after the rest ... they had to watch the rest eat. One was simply a BLT, so really ... ? Just a poorly run place overall and really set a cruddy tone for the rest of our visit to town. There were a lot of employees, almost tripping on each other. Looked like some sort of drama going on as they were storming around looking angry. Again, not real apology. Poorly run business in a fairly nice building. We chose The Tuck and Table because of the large upstairs patio that overlooked the river and they are dog friendly. The weather was perfect for enjoying the patio view. Our server was Luis and was not only efficient but very friendly. He brought the pups a fresh bowl of water too. I ordered the pimento cheese burger with onion rings and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. I also had a side of fries which I also enjoyed. This riverside restaurant is definitely one that I will return to. read more

A river-side delight, T & T is a solid choice for dining in Bryson City. We had great service and decent food. The fresh trout stuffed with crab is delicious! And the asparagus was cooked perfectly. The grits were soft and buttery. The turkey and dressing was less favored and the family-style potatoes had no flavor at all. Butter and salt very needed! The decor is a strange non-cohesive mix of mountain, sparkly lights, and moving flowers. But you cannot beat the patio seating with the water moving by. read more

Unfortunately, I ordered an appetizer for my dinner and explicitly stated I was doing that. Meaning, I wanted it served with my husband's dinner. Ordered the Bourbon Chicken and was told it comes with Green Beans & Mashed Potatoes (I didn't ask what it came with, she just stated it) and the server told me I could substitute the sides and so I did sub out green beans for Mac & Cheese and it was a $4 up charge. Food came out after 30-40 minutes of waiting and the "Mac" and cheese was just Penne and cheese sauce and we were missing the mashed potatoes so we asked the runner where they were and he brought them out. The server came right back after that and let me know it was a mess up on her end and there were no sides included with the dish and that if we kept the mashed potatoes it would be a full charge additional side, we declined and she took them back. To add injury to insult, the first round of food was obviously cold and had been sitting (like cold fries). I was also a bit surprised no accomodations were made on the bill, but ours was not the party to actively complain; just observe how a business and manager handle problems; not well in this case. Cute location, but the food was...just not good. Chicken was VERY dry, and I mean all the chicken: we ordered the fried chicken platter, chicken and waffles, and grilled chicken with the cobb salad. All of it was dry. Green beans looked/felt/tasted super microwaved. Waffle was utterly forgettable eggo. Cobb salad was underdressed and underassembled. Also, why are there no local beers on the beer list? I was thinking tuck and table could be a cute spot in the summer to have a little bevvy on the patio overlooking the lake, but I remembered that the beer list was anemic and the cocktails were overly sweet + watered down. My partner and I ordered the chicken and waffles and the Po'Boy sandwich. Both were amazing! My chicken was very well seasoned and not a bit dry, on top of that it was cut into slices, which I personally loved! The waffles were fluffy and topped with powdered sugar! My partner's Po'Boy sandwich was also delicious, his, (and my), favorite part being the crawfish tails. Our server and the staff were all very friendly. We were exploring the area and decided to try this place for lunch as it was right alongside a river and had outdoor seating. After waiting a few minutes to get seated we began waiting some more and then some more. I was unable to make eye contact with the waitress. About ten minutes later one showed up and asked if we wanted a drink but couldn't take any orders for beer, wine etc but she said she would get someone. After another five minutes of waiting we'd had enough and left. That's why I can't tell you how the food is but the hospitality sucks. From the beginning the ambiance was beautiful. Good lighting and a lively atmosphere. The host was wonderful taking care of us as we check in without a reservation and still set up a wonderful table for us. My mother and I ordered a drink from the bar and had two glasses as we waited for our table, the bartender was very sweet. Melissa (our server) was fantastic from start to finish, I appreciate that she kept us updated through every item we ordered. When my grandmother ordered coffee and said, "I want it right now" she had one coffee for us in 15 seconds. Absolutely amazing!!! The food was wonderful. The crab cakes were delicious!!!! The burger with pimento cheese was ok, but nothing fantastic. The steak and mushrooms I would eat over and over again. Cooked wonderfully and beautifully juicy. We are from west TN. We went to Bryson city NC for vacation. Having never been to NC, we had no idea of where to eat so we looked up places on our phone. The Tuck and Table had pics of food. Let me say that it did not disappoint. I think it was the first time we went to eat somewhere and the actual food was more impressive than the pic online. We arrived and were taken care of immediately. We were given options of where we would like to sit. Having a party of 6 we were accommodated and felt very welcomed. They moved around tables for us on the deck and we were able to enjoy our supper on the deck in open air with the view of, what the locals call "The Tuck", the Tuckaseegee River. We found out how the place got its name. The Tuck and Table offers a table on "The Tuck". I highly recommend trying this place. I would definitely go back. The service was great, everyone was friendly, the food was amazing, the scenery was beautiful. I can't say enough good things about this place. Absolutely, nothing bad about my experience. read more

I've eaten here and had a great roast beef sandwich. My husband had a salad last week. We came in today for a lunch and I ordered a hamburger and they told me that I couldn't have it medium that I had to have it the way it came because it was a "Smashburger". I have never had one of these burgers so I went ahead and ordered it. It came out to be too extremely thin, overcooked greasy mess. It tasted so bad it ruined my appetite and I could not eat the last of my first half of my sandwich. I called the waitress over and she said she would get a manager. The manager came over and was upset with me sort of because I didn't know what a Smashburger was. And I lifted the bun and showed her that my burger was overcooked and greasy. She said I'll take care of it on your bill. The waitress came back and as you can see from the receipt, they took two dollars off of a $16 burger Bill, which was terrible. Not ever coming back here again. They just opened and they really need to work on their food service. read more

We ate here last night, sat down at 6:53...we finally got our food at 8:10!!! The manager was terrible. About 7:50, we questioned him about. He went to "check". He disappeared!! He finally came to the table and said "we only have 2 more things to fix" We ordered soup, grilled cheese and 2 specials from the menu. This food was already prepared except for the grilled cheese...which take about 5 minutes!! On a positive note, our waitress was wonderful!!! Her name was Kiana. Not her fault at all. The building itself is beautiful. It sits on the river and has ample seating outside. The interior tables are more cafeteria style than cozy restaurant.....I must say I was very disappointed with the overall layout. The menu was well thought out....lots of options....the Brunswick stew was delicious....roast beef dinner delicious ....Caesar salad with grilled chicken also very good. They served rolls with dinner and they were warm and fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and considering they just opened I was very impressed with the service. The manager walked around and was engaging and welcoming. Overall we enjoyed the evening and will certainly be back. I would however tell everyone to stay clear until The Smokey Mountain Polar Express festivities are over....The wait for a table was 45 minutes and it was a zoo of parents with young children all in pajamas It is definitely a wonderful addition to Bryson City - as anyone who lives there knows- there aren't a lot of choices for a good dinner! .... read more

The food here was just alright. Nothing over the top or great for the prices. The service was awful. We waited over an hour for our order. In the time multiple other tables were seated and placed orders 20-30 mins after we did and received their orders well before we did. The gentleman next to us actually ordered the exact same meals we did and got theirs well before us. Our waitress never came back to apologize for a wait or check in until I told another waitress I wanted the check for our drinks and they could keep the food we'd been waiting an hour for at this point. Miraculously our waiter and the manger could both come out then to apologize for the "wait on pasta from the kitchen" when I mentioned multiple other people ordered the same things well after and received it already we were offered half off. Ate lunch there today, first visit there with my husband. The building is nice, wait staff was okay. The main issue was my catfish plate, it was undercooked. All the fish was a soggy and pink inside, not white as catfish should be. Probably started out as frozen and just was not cooked long enough. The Server was told and said she would get the manager. I didn't want more food and said so, not mad or rude. A while later we got a reduced bill placed in front of us, no apology, no manager, nothing.
