Really cheap drinks but they need to clean their beer lines. Beer smells and taste buttery. Too bad since the place is beautiful inside.

Even with new management I do not recommend even taking a chance here like we did. We were going out of town for a few days without our kids and wanted a nice family lunch before dropping them off. We decided to take a chance here since having bad experiences in the past but new management, so should be positive changes right? Wrong. We walked in with 2 kids and the back room was closed off. Frustrated right away. With kids we need a booth or they will run around. But ok, took a table. One bartender/waitress for the entire area on a Saturday at 1pm. Really? She comes over and gets our drink order. I ask for Chocolate milk for kids, told they don't have that. Ok, can I have white milk? Nope, don't have that either. Then get the comment ,"oh we actually haven't had milk for awhile. Wonder why we don't order it?" Yes, me too, don't you need it to cook? So I asked for apple juice. Was told they didn't have that either. So as a mom I'm like ok, my kids don't need soda so what can I give them? Waitress goes well Orange juice and cranberry. Ok, ill take OJ. So we order from their reduced menu and raised prices. Disappointing. Hardly anything to choose from. Kids meal was priced at 4$ including a kids size drink so that was all fine. We wait FOREVER for some burgers. Food was not the best. We didn't finish any of it which is not like us at all. Bill comes, was 45$. So I look at the itemized list and was charged 3.50 for EACH kids drink of OJ. The kids meal itself was only 4$. But I got charged 7.50$ each for a kids grilled cheese and drink. So I nicely go to the waitress and tell her the mistake since the kids menu says the drink is included for the 4$. After I look like I upset her by interrupting her convo with some guy at the bar. ( I didn't, I waited to be waited on), she proceeds to tell me that that is true except for the OJ and cranberry aren't included for kids drinks. So ironworks I am wondering what the options are then for kids drinks? Water or soda? She did take it off for me but not after giving me attitude about it. I was perfectly nice this whole visit, my kids were well behaved. No reason to not be treated with respect or basic service. It was a lot that added up to just be a crap experience. I assume the owner does not have kids and doesn't understand what its like to go to eat with them. The waitress left a lot to be desired for attitude. Food was overpriced and nothing to choose from. Don't let their Facebook page fool you. No new items. One Bartender/waitress to run the entire place for drinks and food. This place has so much potential and is lost on the new owner. I will wait to hear of it closing down in the future because with all the negative reviews that is what it will come to. Word of mouth and already new owner has bad rep. The Facebook reviews are turned off for them I see. But I unfollowed them on Facebook because we will never give this place another change. What was supposed to be a nice meal before a vacation was a waste of time and money. read more

We've gone to Ironworks several time over the last few years when we've been in the area and always had a good meal (lunch). But we went there this past Sat.and yikes. My understanding is that the place has new owners. To begin with - the waitress was only slightly interested in being there and seemed bored and not very attentive. We were there at about 1.00pm and only 3 tables were seated plus the group of 4 who came in when we did. it was pretty empty. An omen of things to come. I ordered a cup of the beer cheese soup. It was salmon pink, goopy like wallpaper paste but had a grainy texture and totally over salted. It was gross to say the least and I didn't eat it. What cook in their right mind would even consider serving that??? If the new owner is the cook, shame on them. My husband had the French onion soup. It had a square slice of cheese over it that had been torched and tasted burnt. He was a better sport than I was and ate it but said it was terrible. I had the fried chicken sandwich which was fine. I asked for the Ranch dressing on the side - good thing because it was watered down. My husband had some kind of BBQ pork sandwich. It came with a lettuce spring mix on it. Spring mix - seriously?!! It had 2 very thin slices of pork which he said were as tough as jerky and that the spring mix was the best part of the sandwich!! Not a good place to eat anymore and we will NEVER go back. Service was slow and food was terrible. Good luck new owners. What we were served was really embarrassing for you. The decor is same as before but they've taken away the old metal lunch boxes that held the condiments which gave it some charm relating back to the ironworker concept. Too bad. I really enjoy this place great burgers and food here. They have a few good beers on tap. The entire place is awesome inside I like it. Dog friendly patio. They have there own parking lot and plenty of parking in the streets also. read more

Very good pretzel burgers but the fries r another story completely. It's almost like they deep fried the fries and put them on a plate and for some reason took a cup of fryer oil and seasoned the fries with literally more fryer oil I've never seen anything like it with that being said I would go back for the burger I just wouldn't get fries. Unfortunately the bill continues to be wrong during happy hour. I can't but wonder if this is strategic planning or just poor management. What started out as a straight forward pub with food that wasn't a dump was resorted to quirky and sleazy tactics to get more money. They have mystery shots for a dollar, but where the mystery lies is in the fact that what you are served is no where near a shot. It comes out in a tiny medicine cup. Wouldn't be an issue but I felt like I was getting scammed with that as well as the bill. Most likely won't visit again. read more

Waited over an hour for the "special of the day" on Father's day. 6 other people that came after us had their dinners and left and we were still waiting. When we decided we had waited long enough we asked to pay for what we had for drinks and they suggested for us to wait longer and get it to go.... looks like a nice bar but food service is obviously not their strength. read more

On our way to see waterfalls in Marquette, Mi. Was told to stop to see cool bar! Service was amazing and so was the food! Had dinner here tonight with my family and everything we had was awesome!!! I had the red hot rivet which had some heat but not over powering. My husband had the odd fellow which he really enjoyed. The kids chicken fingers and burger were also good. And our waitress was excellent. Great job IronWorks! We will be coming back keep up the great job. read more

Arrived about 11 for lunch and there were a few people at the bar and nobody in the dining room. Tables were dirty, asked waitress if she would wipe it down and was told, "it would be a while." Took our drink orders and came back and set them on the dirty table. Returned 5 minutes later with a rag that reeked of bleach and spot wiped our table. Food came 30+ minutes later and the buns on our burgers looked shriveled and were so crispy they fell apart. All 3 orders of sea salt fries were soggy and greasy. Really disappointed in the food and service. Waitress came by only once so nobody got a refill. Definitely never coming back... read more

Met an old friend for dinner. LOVED the burgers. The garlic/parm fries her a bit on the floppy side. Liked the atmosphere...though the chairs in the dining area are a bit hard to move (they are perfect for the Ironworks theme though). Would definitely go there again. read more

One of our favorite places! We go there a couple of times a week. Great apps, great food in general, and wonderful service. (Ask for Sammy! ) Try their parmesan fries! They run great mid week drink and app specials. read more

Food was good, but the service was absolutely awful. Barely said a word to us, was extremely short and barely looked at us even. Walked by our table several times without refilling our drinks and when she did she'd just grab them and keep walking. Not even ask if we want another or if we want something else. Took my drink at one point and never brought me a refill. Got our food over an hour after we got there and our starters came after a half hour or more. Our waitress didn't even smile at us. Wish we sat at the bar where the bartender seemed to be doing awesome. Waitress's name started with an H. Wouldn't recommend unless you sit at the bar. read more

The wings here have completely turned around. I swore them off and tried to spread the word. Thursday's wings are 50c a piece to go along with dollar bottles of domestic beer all day long. The wings are pressure cooked and have 7 or 8 sauce options. They are excellent. Competing with the avenue is hard to do for wings but ironworks now competes well with a smaller price tag, larger wings (though not quite as good) and dollar bottles. This place has had it's ups and downs for sure. Terrific atmosphere! We have had more good experiences here than bad. Sometimes the service is slow, might take 20 minutes for a drink, other times it's very fast. Food is better than it used to be - more consistent. I have never written a restaurant review before. Generally, any discrepancies I feel exist in service or food are taken care of by an attentive or apologetic staff and I only speak up to begin with when things are at objectively poor level. I have been to Ironworks for wing night many times in the past and although the service has always been poor the food was acceptable. Tonight was an experience that topped my cake and cemented in my head the reality that Ironworks has embraced below average service and quality as their standard. Orders are almost never correct. No one ever asks if you need anything. Any communication with wait staff happens in 45 minutes gaps leaving you desiring more beer, drinks, etc. Food has a 50/50 chance of being served cold, stale, or worse. Any observation of these experiences is greeted with an apology no correction and additional bad service. For such a beautiful venue this place fails in literally every way possible other than fitting into the local price point. read more

As a local I am 100% in love with this place. Bbq bacon burger is the best burger I have ever had. The food here is amazing. They did change alot since opening that I wish they would change back. I loved how you got your fries in a little bucket, and the mason jars for drinks. Really made me love the place more. Now neither exist. But not enough to make me stop going here. I wish they had more a selection though. Their lunch menu needs to be served all day. Only real complaint about food. My biggest problem is, none of my family or friends wants to eat here with me. On one occurence, me and my husband waited literally, an hour and a half for our food, with a 3 year old. Not a fun time. So he will never eat here again. Same thing has happened before, And waitresses don't do much to make it ok. Just give a half ass sorry, So they really need to work on that alot better. They have been open long enough to have employees trained right and be polite to customers, and have food out on time. read more
