STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE- Please be warned, no matter how easy their pickup and drop off is, the new owners take little care in cleaning or helping their customers. After burning a hole in a brand new 2000 suit, we called and they said it not from them. Unfortunately I continued to use them due to the convenience, and they have now ruined a new white blouse (so much heat the sleeve now permantley wrinkled), and another jacket, where it has a permanent shine due again, to heat. Owner Manali offered me a 25 credit and promised to tell her girls to take more care. Enough is enough - what an insult and horrible business. IRS Cleaners was one of the best places in Brentwood for clothing repair. However, it is no longer owned by the same people, and the quality has decreased. That's the short version. So, if you'd like the story, here it goes: On April 8th, I dropped off a pair of work pants for drycleaning, and a "tear in the knee" repair. The pants were supposed to be ready on April 15. I attempted to pick them up on April 16 or 17 and was told they were not ready. Their regular repair person was out, and they shipped the pants to Tracy. I thought that was odd because typically the work was done at IRS. They told me to come back in another week. I returned April 22, found an incorrect glue repair was done on the pocket, and there was still a hole in the knee. The pants had not been drycleaned and they were just sitting on the repair person's counter. The employee refunded the $10 repair, but the problem was not fixed after two weeks, and now I still needed to get the hole repaired. She told me the repair person would be back later that day and would fix the hole. I left the pants and a couple hours later the hole was repaired. But, I had a glue problem. So, the experience was frustrating, and I asked to speak to the owner about it. The employee stated I had to call the Tracy Park Avenue Cleaners and ask for Mike, the owner. I called and was transferred to the manager, Manani. Manani told me I was not allowed to speak to the owner and that she handled all business-related issues. I told Manani IRS had done the wrong repair, left white glue all over the pocket (and drops on the pant legs), didn't dry clean the pants, and didn't even repair the ripped knee until I pointed out the mistake. She told me to send in the pants through Park Avenue Cleaners in Brentwood (another one of their stores) to the Tracy store. So, at this point, I've been to IRS three times, and now I'm heading to Park Avenue Cleaners. My next available errand day was April 29; I dropped them off with a pickup of May 2. So, here's the end of the story, and why I'm writing a review for Brentwood residents. Manani calls me up and tells me there's nothing she can do about leaving glue all over the pants. She then tells me I'm lucky because they did the repair free of charge. And then she says, "You can decide how you want to move forward", as if we're entering some sort of legal battle. I felt like I was dealing with a faceless corporation, and that's what this place has become. read more

Stay away from this cleaner at all costs. Zero stars. I brought my two formal drapery panels to be dry cleaned. When I got them home and rehung, it was clear that IRS laundered my panels instead of dry cleaning. The panels shrunk in length more than six inches, 7 1/2 to be exact, are extremely wrinkled and the lining is pulling apart from the fabric. I called and spoke to Maria, who told me that the panels were sent out, off-site so she had no idea if these were laundered. I asked her to please find out and let me know. She called me back to tell me the person she spoke to at the cleaning facility also couldn't tell her how these were cleaned. Offered me bringing them back to be stretched possibly. I told her I didn't think they can stretch my fabric more than six inches. I offered to send pictures to her which I did so she can see how bad these shrunk and haven't heard back. I then e mailed management at info@irscleaners.com with photos and haven't heard back. My drapery is ruined, and my concerns are falling on deaf ears. This is not a way to run a business. Warning: AVOID IRS Cleaners! Please look at recent reviews, as my experience may not be isolated. They ruined my wedding dress, and I caution against entrusting them with any valuable items. After the change in ownership, issues seem to have arisen. Please know, I am not someone to write a bad review! My husband and I eloped in December. I brought my dress to get pressed and minor cleaning around the collar where there was makeup from trying on. I had no stains or anything before bringing it to IRS cleaners. They said my dress would be ready on December 5th. When I went to pick it up, it was not there. Apparently, they send their clothes to somewhere in Tracy (I did not know this till after). My dress was not ready till December 8th. I flew out early morning December 10th for our wedding. This alone caused a lot of stress with my dress not being ready and it being in a whole different location and city. Due to this I had no time to check my dress (assuming it was their job to do this). When I got to our destination, I opened my dress from the package they sealed it in only to find ink stains all over it. My husband had to see the dress ahead of time to help me get the stains out that would not lift. This completely ruined our experience and day that was supposed to be a special moment. I had to wear a dress that was ruined with stains all over. My dress was very expensive and not cheap. I called them and left a message and no response. When I finally got ahold of someone, they admitted to not checking the dress before giving it to me. I called them on December 10th and have had to followed up with them 5 times in 18 days. They did not once call me back in the whole 18 days. They gave me a number to call for someone to handle this named Manoni. The store would not give me the owners information to call because said they don't even know who the new owners are. The stored offered zero refund or compensation for the damages and kept putting off the issue. When I expressed my frustration Manoni who is supposed to be in charge responded by saying, "take me to court." I was so taken back by this as they were the ones who damaged my dress. Complete negligence and lack of professionalism. Their buisness ethics and practices are not sound and they do not care about their clients or their clients very important items. Kathy who had been the owner of IRS Cleaners for years, sold this business. As a result the new owners and some of their changes and quality of work are less than up to par. As of recent, they have ruined one of my American Airlines uniforms. My husband who is in law enforcement, had a Hugo Boss suit jacket who they were unable to sew a button on correctly; not once but twice. I then asked to have a refund of the amount he spent on the cleaning of the jacket since it was all bubbled up in the area of the button. I was told the owner would have to call. That has yet to happen well over a week later. Today, I took that same suit jacket to a professional alternations guy in Clayton and he took remarked that if you can't sew a button on correctly, you probably do not want them altering or cleaning your clothes. Then today, I brought in my dry cleaning to learn the new owners have discontinued Same Day Service. They had no presses running. They were bagging clothes in plastic trash bags to send to their business in Tracy. I am not sure where the new owners are going with these business practices but it's leaving a lot of room for doubt. The new owners seem to lack customer service/follow-up and trying to maintain a professional standard of what a lot of us have been used to is not a priority. I utilized their delivery service for 2 plus years. It was very convenient, so I used it until I retired. However, my clothes took a beating and I am pretty sure they put one of my suits through the machine washer. I also noticed they charged my card more than what was on the receipt. Easy repair gone wrong-- Had a 6" seam come apart on our comforter. Said they would send it out to be repaired, $6. Got it home and found this. Spoke to Cathy--she said she slip-stitched it herself (like she was proud of her work). A slip-stitch is supposed to be invisible like on a pillow or stuffed animal. To Update: The owner called me and apologized, she said that the day before I was yelling at her (which i disagree with, but everything is subjective i guess and I am trying to be thorough and share everything. I also need to add that I shouldnt have exactly said i was polite the entire time, i hung up on her at the very end of our convo out of frustration for feeling rushed. That wasnt polite... but i do think i was polite overall given the situation) Anywho, she apologized and acknowledged that the blazer that i had the big issue with was unacceptable and it shouldnt have been returned to me that way. Also, I had mentioned that me going down there multiple times was a huge inconvenience (i have to uber or lyft for right now) so she offered to deliver the jacket to my house. The blazer looks fine, she said she worked on it herself, and she refunded me for the cleaning (5-ish i believe) and threw in about 15 for the inconvenience. We had a wedding to attend in southern California and needed a bunch of stuff dry cleaned so onto yelp we go to find one. This is one of the first and the highest rated too. We explained what we needed done, they listens and said ok when do you need it. What else can you ask for? They cleaned everything perfectly and had it ready when they said. That are a bit more expensive but not by much. They gave us a discount for being a first time customer and one if you pay in advance. Not bad. Will be back. read more

I believe a manager (Hispanic women) was disrespecting an elderly worker right in front of me. The elderly women was having some trouble giving me my receipt, then she comes over to help her. She then starts talking to me in Spanish saying "So sorry she is so slow" I replied with "she is trying no need for that!" I felt horrible for the worker, I definitely could have done or said something to stop her. This is my first review. English is not my first language. It is hard for me to write this kind of things, but I feel like I have to this time. I even opened yelp account to write this review. I don't know how IRS cleaner gets good reviews only. I believed all the reviews here, and chose IRS to go. First day when I got there, I saw one customer leaving with very unhappy face. I was little worried but not enough to cancel everything yet. I met one of the most unfriendly girls there. I tried to understand that she had bad days. I still believed yelp reviews saying so friendly, and so professional, and on and on. It took 5 days instead of next day service you can pay a lot less if you go other place I used to go. The old place screwed me so bad that, I thought it was worth to try a new place although it takes much longer and a lot more expensive. Here comes the result. I asked alteration and now I have to throw away $200 pants. Thankfully they didn't charge for the horrible stitch to ruin the pants. One of the button had to be replaced had totally forgotten. A little stitch to fix the ripped part of jacket has terribly done. One of the pants I asked for dry clean hasn't even ironed. They asked me to bring it back and then I had to go back to pick it up next day. I said no. I don't want to see these people again. When I was picking up my clothes, there was another lady before me complaining how terrible their service was. I have to say that I quite enjoyed Joe and getting our items picked up and dropped off was a HUGE convenience. I used them for quite some time and stayed with them much longer than I should have because of the pick up and delivery service. They completely ruined a very expensive dress shirt of my husband's. There were actually holes eaten through the fabric on the inside of the collar. I called to discuss this with the owner and she was less than apologetic and accepted no responsibility for ruining my husband's shirt. They ruined two of my son's shirts and when I called to discuss this with the owner, she was argumentative instead of trying to fix what they had done. The final straw was when I dropped off a pair of pants to a very expensive Italian suit of my son's to get a pen stain removed from the pant leg. I was very clear that I was bringing the pants in to see if they could remove the pen mark. They did not attempt to remove the stain, but they were kind enough to iron it in! They cleaned and pressed the pants instead of attempting stain removal, or telling me that they couldn't remove the stain or didn't want to try. I felt that this would make it more difficult to remove the stain in the end and when I called to explain why I was frustrated and told the owner that this was the third time they had fallen short, she became very irritated with me and was not at ALL apologetic nor did she offer any solution to anything I had explained to her. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. When I told her that they continually damaged our clothing and never ever offered to replace any items that were ruined and because of this I would no longer be using their services, she did not even TRY to make any sort of accommodations. I have since found a cleaners that is so amazing and because of the amazing service I get there, I realized what horrible service I was getting from IRS. We now use New Life Cleaners on Lone Tree and I couldn't be happier!!! read more

This place is awesome! Like another yelper mentioned, they're the only place I've been too that understands and does a really good military press. I went through a couple of other places in Brentwood, both of which told me the collar could not be pressed flat, only to get lucky enough to find this place and they were more than accommodating for my needs. Had high hopes for them based on reviews after being customers at Brentwood cleaners for 10 plus years ... 2 new shirts with tags came out with oil like spots all over them ... The girl we dropped items off was not very friendly upon arrival but told her we were trying them for the first time ... She just smiled and checked the items and threw them in a bag and asked do you want to prepay ... Sure ... No problem but her CS were lacking ... Upon picking up the lady was much nicer but shame me for not checking the items before we left ... Love this dry cleaner! Tried several different cleaners before finding this one and have never used anyone else since. They are courteous, fast, and do quality work at reasonable competitive prices. They even offer a discount if you pay for the service at the drop off instead if when you pick up. We have brought many of my husband's suits and ties here as well as several of my dresses, slacks and winter jackets. Nothing but good things to say after three years of using this place. read more

Our first experience with iRS Cleaners was been terrible: 1. First the manager refused to honor their "50% OFF Your First Drycleaning Order" coupon taken directly from their website. She said the coupon didn't cover our large order of bedroom furnishings including a comforter, curtains, pillow shams, etc. even though the coupon contained no exclusions or exceptions. She said the coupon was incorrect and they were correcting the website. Instead she offered a 20% discount (10% new customer and 10% for paying up-front). Given the alternatives at the time, we decided to go ahead and have the dry cleaning there, but speak with the owner later. 2. A few days later I spoke by phone with the owner, Kathy, who stiffly repeated they would not honor the coupon; that it was wrong and the website was being corrected. Note that more than a week later the disallowed coupon is still on the website. 3. Kathy relayed a contrived story from the manager that they were traumatized by the experience. I immediately told Kathy that while we were not happy with the manager's decision, we were completely civil. There was absolutely no loud, threatening or inappropriate language or gestures involved. As a result of the "trauma", the manager had decided not to do the dry cleaning. However, Kathy said the order would be available that Wednesday afternoon; a day later than the promise date. Kathy clearly disregarded my objection to the manager's contrived story and action. As I'm writing this review, I'm wondering about their CCTV and how it would have been easy for the owner to verify events. 4. Kathy finally committed to a 30% discount on a future, albeit much smaller dry cleaning order. By that time it was an empty offer since it was clear we would never return. This was a truly unique and bizarre experience for us. Given their failure to meet their stated commitments on pricing and delivery as well as the fact that the staff made up a bizarre insulting story, we will never again use iRS Cleaners. read more

IRS Cleaners steamed my wedding dress prior to my wedding. The wedding dress was used, hand washed and had a lot of wrinkles. The dress had lots of hand sewn beading, lace and lots of layers of ruffles which were on a 5 foot train. What impressed me the most was the way they packed it back in to my garmet bag. It was carefully folded in and layered so it would not get any more wrinkles. Clearly it took a lot of time and effort and it was much appreciated. read more

We live near IRS Cleaners and use their services regularly with great satisfaction. But I felt the need to give them praise for a service that they give that no one really knows about. I am a Funeral Director for a local Funeral & Cremation Center and when I have a service for a US Veteran, IRS Cleaners presses the US flag that is draped over the casket during the funeral service and then folded and present to the family by the US Military Honors Team. They press the flag at no charge, in gratitude to the family for the service that their loved one gave to our country. I recently had a family that decided at the last minute that they want their deceased loved one who served our country to receive Military Honors. I was able to arrange for an honors team to come and I ran to IRS Cleaners with the US Flag and explained the situation to the owner (Kathy), who with help of 2 of her staff, who were on break, immediately stopped what they were doing and pressed the flag for the family on the spot at no charge. I thank her and her staff for all they do to honor our currant and former Military Service Men and Women. As a parent of a son who is enlisted in the Military, it means so much to all of us who have loved ones who are serving. Thank You IRS Cleaners! read more
