I'm displeased with their alteration service. I used to take my suits here because they did a stellar job, but I recently took a new suit to them for a fitting and alteration. when I got it, the blazer fit great but the pants were poorly altered. One leg was longer and they didn't take the legs in. their dry cleaning service is solid but I'm highly disappointed with the way suit turned out and this was for a wedding. I couldn't wear the suit I was looking forward to wearing and this alteration was a HUGE let down. read more

This used to be our go to place but it is now under new ownership and the quality of work is not the same! The last two times I've dropped my clothing off the pants have been burnt and looked like they were tie dyed. I took two pair of brand new black pants there and when I got them back they look super ashy and burnt. They also creased all of my pants and when asked why they were done that way I was told that "Most people requested it to be done but I did not and never have." read more

Can you believe that I have never been nor used a dry cleaning place? What did I ever do without it? Easy. I tried to clean items on my own. Or I just threw the clothing away. But now no more! I actually found this place while driving around Pittsburg. I wasn't sure where I would find a dry cleaner for my jacket but I am glad I happened upon this place. Parking is pretty easy. There's a quite a few spaces in the back. I walked it and I didn't have to even wait. I was attended to merely seconds after I walked it. The nice man who assisted me was kind and super helpful. I had a lot of questions and he was answering all then graciously. I paid on the spot. One large blazer was only around $7. Considering how many people go here, I knew I would have to wait. Came in on a Saturday. It would be ready by Thursday. I was unfortunate to not being able to pick it up by then but the cleaners held my item until the Saturday after that. The jacket came out looking clean and fresh. I was amazed at how good it looked. Will definitely be using this place more often! 5/5 read more

Very nice very welcoming and friendly and the job done was excellent. I would come to them to hem my marching band pants and at the time (2007-2011), they offered a great deal for PHS Marching Show Band uniforms. Fast-forward to the present, I am now a loyal customer. I've seen this business in my neighborhood for some time but never thought to visit. Well I had this coral denim jacket that was fairly pricy. I didn't want to ruin it by attempting to wash on my own. As soon as I walked in this business, I was greeted by a lovely man. I immediately asked if he owned the business and he agreed. I was thrilled because I firmly believe in supporting black owned establishments. Well I paid roughy $6 for a medium sized jacket. I came back like 3 days later and my jacket was fresh. Like brand new. I had a few tough stains and he did the best job that he could to get them out. I rarely need alteration services but let me tell you i had a trip for Wednesday and received some pants from online and they were to big on me so couldn't return at this point needed a couple inches off. I contacted several alteration stores around but their were to booked out which i completely understand! But thank god RailRoad cleaners came through! Got me in super quick basically made me felt like i didn't have to worry! They were able to expedite my services and the owner was super nice about it. Brought my pants in on a Monday and by the next day during noon got the call they were all ready for pickup! So even earlier then expected! Brought in an expensive 300 dollar coat to get cleaned... it was returned with the fabric pilled and by the smell of it the garment was not even cleaned. Very upset considering I took the care to take it to the dry cleaners, it would have been better off if I washed it myself! I basically paid 35+ for them to ruin my coat. I have been here several times for alterations and they are always very helpful. It's seems family owned which is great! The only issue is the parking so you really have to pick and choose the correct timing to get there but typically I have good timing as they are quick to get you in and out. I love all the reviews on this place. Especially down the street from where I live. I brought in a backpack that had the stitching come out from the top (sounds confusing , but refer to photo. My mom said if I invested money into something I like, it's worth investing more to keep. So I dropped off my backpack and it was $15 to get fixed. A few days later it was finished on time for my trip I really wanted to bring it on and I was excited. As soon as I put my wallet and small toiletries (lotion, chapstick, mini hand sanitizer) it started to come undone and I'm pretty pissed. What I had in my bag wasn't heavy and the stitching came undone, it hadn't been used for no more than 45mins. I think I could have patched up my backpack like they did, just for suffice purposes.. Hoping they'll redo my backpack stitch for free and really pull it apart to secure it better. $15 is a lot for a bag that I paid $30 for.. but if it's something you really like ....... This has bothered me for some time. You advertise 15% off for bills over $30, or if you pay the bill @ drop off. The latter may have changed. In any event, I had a bill of $700+ and didn't receive my discount. I couldn't believe you didn't honor your advertisement/word. You stated you owed me one. You don't owe me anything. You owe your customers the honoring of your word. This shop provides great service & quality workmanship; but that incident left a bad taste in my mouth. Mistakes happen I guess, but it could've been corrected on the spot by simply crediting my card right then & there. I won't do business with you again. I had to get a smaller size gown and needed a hem last minute. I called ahead of time to make sure the hemming could be done fast if they have the capacity to do it, they said yes. I expressed that I wanted the gown hemmed so that it is hovering right above my toes. I should have seen the red flag when the person asked me if they pinned the gown ok. I said I couldn't see it and I just wanted the gown to hover over the toes, that's it. Maybe this place does a good job for simple pieces of clothing, but please do not bring your gowns here. The hem was poorly done and ruined a great gown. I even posted photos comparing two different jobs and you can tell the difference. read more

I took them back to Thomas and he took accountability, offering to re-clean them free of charge to rule out the issue. The shirts came back in really good condition on the re-clean. I was very appreciative of the service I was getting at this location until I come to pickup my clothes today and they tell me that they could not get out a stain on one of my pants. Now, me having kids im like okay there was a smaller stain on my brown pants. Well turns out that a very nice pair of grey pants "apparently" had a huge stain on them. Ummm, im pretty sure that i would have mentioned that if it was as big as the picture I provided. I'm also pretty sure the young lady would have mentioned this to me when I dropped them off or at least attempted to call me. I can go buy a new pair of pants but don't try to make me look foolish and say I brought them in like that. I store all of my dry cleaned clothes in a separate location so there is absolutely no way i spilled bleach on them. As I said, this is very unfortunate because I actually liked and supported this black owned business. There aren't many that I could say were successful. This sucks man. read more

I brought in a few pants to be hemmed and he confirmed the measurements I asked for just to be sure. We got a laugh out of it because I told him, yes, I'm sure. I'm under 5 feet in height so you can imagine those pants were kids' length and had to be shortened a good amount. *LOL* When I came back to pick up my pants, I had a few more to drop off. Told him I appreciate that his services are priced reasonably (you even get a discount if you pay same day!) and how convenient it is to drop off/pick-up. I will definitely be a frequent customer! I got my 30th birthday dress altered here on a Friday & was supposed to get it back on Monday. When I got it back it was still not fitting correctly so the lady tried to fix it again and return it to me by Thursday. My party was that Saturday. I was feel kind of nervous about my dress being done on time. Went to pick up my dress on Thursday right before it closed and I tried it on at home. It didn't fit well I was so I'm a freak out mode that I got up right when it opened told them what needed to be done & the staff was on point about getting my dress back to me by 7pm that Friday night. I then get a phone call at 230pm saying my dress was ready. And it fit!! Although a few mistakes were made they still did there best to try and make it work. I do think the lady that does the heeming should be in the dry cleaning place when fitting because she would see what others want & need done. So I gave them 4 stars I will go back and dry clean some more stuff read more

I am very pleased with Railroad Cleaners. I tore my winter parka in a very bad way and not on a seam to the point of tossing my expense parka out. I was referred the Railroad Cleaners, so I took it to them for the repair. They did such a great job that the tear spot that looks like it's part of the parka design. One of my pieces were ruined and the other one they kept for 2 weeks and kept telling me to come back, finally I was told I'd get a call once it was back at their location and of course no one called. No one takes responsibility at this establishment. My brother had a shirt ruined at this cleaners too. They should NOT be in this business! A girlfriend of mine recommended this place to me so I decided to check it out. I walked in and was greeted by one of the owners (super nice) and told them my dress needed to be hemmed so I tried it on and his wife came and pinned my dress and I was on my merry way. It's OKAY! The customer service is very mediocre. Nothing to write home about. I picked up my shirts on a few occasions and discovered that they were not cleaned correctly. I found stains on my shirt after it had so called been cleaned. Needless to say I took them to another cleaners and they were able to clean my shirts correctly. If you want to support black businesses, please go. If you want it done right you might have to go somewhere else. Black businesses we have to do better. read more

Update...see bottom of review We had gone to another dry cleaners up the road from RR cleaners. The cleaners cleaned our clock by over charging up and saying they couldn't do this and that. but they did and charged us anyway. Scam We had to find another dry cleaners so we found RR cleaners. So far so good. First job was to put taps on brand new shoes of my boyfriends. Good job. Next up was some dry cleaning, and alterations. After getting our dry cleaning last night, I immediately tried the blouse on when I got home only to find the blouse sleeve had not been altered. I called them this morning and told them and they said they were sorry and to bring it back and they would fix it. I also dropped off 4 very expensive pairs of suit pants (Ann Taylor) to be altered. Since there isn't a lot of material to work with, she said she would do the best she could to accommodate. I am praying very hard that they can alter them and that you won't be able to notice that they have been touched. If they can't do them, fine there will be no charge and I'll have to slim down instead. I've read other reviews and I am sorry to hear the bad reviews. I like the establishment, very clean, the owners are very friendly too. I just hope that they don't ruin my suit pants, but if they can fix them and they fit well, I will take 2 skirts to them to have them altered as well. I would rather them tell me they can't alter them then have them try and destroy my pants. I picked my pants up last week, took them home tried them on and I was so freaking happy that they were done so well. I have since worn the black slacks for an evening out and I am wearing my light grey to work. I am very happy with their work. I will be taking in 3 skirts soon to have them altered as well.
