Went again and was a little disappointed. We ordered family style, and unfortunately, no one touched the chicken koobideh. Practically raw! I understand they were busy, but clearly something is just not right. Also, second time the server told us it's 45 minutes before the food comes, and they were out on certain items. Vegetarians and People with Food Allergies Beware Came in with my family and put in a sizable order. One of our party is vegetarian and ordered the vegetarian stew option after confirming it was vegetarian. Food came out and it wasn't until the bottom of the bowl that they saw meat in all three stews. Server confirmed he put in vegetarian order. When the sever went back to comp that portion of the order the manager/ owner, an older lady, didn't believe him. He took back proof and still she only comped the order partially still charging for the rice. Rule number one of service: when you make a mistake especially as big as this one you try to make it right, not send your sever running back and forth. What an amazing hidden gem in the Sandy Canyon mini shopping mall along the southern edge of the 405fwy where the local Albertsons grocery store is located. The restaurant offers fantastic Mediterranean cuisine that are reasonably priced, abundant portions, and offer great quality and value for the money. Of course, there is no need to mention that along with the value and quality, the taste is a carnival of deliciousness, otherwise I wouldn't be giving it such praise. To top it off, the restaurant is very clean, luxuriously decorated, and the staff is friendly and welcoming as if you were family. It's a local hidden gem that few know, but nevertheless is busy during the lunch hour and evening so if you're having a big party it's worth making a reservation. Great food here in Quail Hill. The food here is consistently delicious. My favorite is the chicken kabob plates. The chicken is juicy, tender, and well-marinated. The rice is fluffy. Salad is a hit or miss depending on the type of lettuce used. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a celebratory lunch. I love the decor inside. Lastly, service seems to be slow during my last visit. There were multiple servers but it took us a while to flag someone down to sit us even though the restaurant was only 1/6 full or so. It was recently modernized and turned into a Persian restaurant a couple of years back but what is fancy is the food is top notch Persian cuisine all the classics were there I went. They're doing tea time and saw Rose and rose of skewers cooking on the grill And I had some chicken koobideh and beef Cuba day and my favorite dish is gehmeh bademjon The portions were big. The bread was very fresh and warm and the place was very busy.There's plenty of room inside and there is outside seating and while I waited for my order there was a line of people waiting for their takeout order as well. This is by far the worst discrimination I have ever had in my 50 plus years of existence as an Asian and on top of that in the city of Irvine. We were seated immediately, but then it went downhill very quickly. It was not too busy at 1:45 on a Saturday and I counted at least 5 servers plus managers/owners there. Not a single one of them acknowledged us in our time there and forget about offering us water. I even made eye contact with a few of them. I felt like unless you were Persian or spoke Farsi, you weren't going to get service. It was so blatant. One of the server had to squeeze behind my wife to get to another table to take their order. That server didn't say anything. Needless to say, we left after 20 minutes. Regardless of what other reviewers say about the food, I guess we will never know since we couldn't even be acknowledged. Irvine Grill is located in the Quail Hill Shopping Center with plenty of parking. It's in the corner with indoor and outdoor seating. Their restrooms are towards the back and are nice and clean. There's lots of things that I love about Irvine Grill, including their aesthetics. I love that they chose blue, super unique! And I love the wall decors they have all around the restaurant. The bar at the back is also pleasant to look at. It's such a fun and welcoming place! I can tell that this is a popular place, there were tons of people already eating comfortably inside and outside. And I feel like it's a place where people get together to catch up. Customer service was friendly and attentive; I appreciated the to go containers without having to ask for it. I've been by this place multiple times and stopped in finally. Every time I pass, I always see people in there, so it was nice to see what the buzz was about. This is a nice Persian/Middle Eastern restaurant with a bar, beautiful decor, and friendly service. The only knock on the stars is for the pricing, as it is a little on the expensive side, but so is everything now. We got the Aria platter, which is a lot of food, and a nice sample of all of their meat kabobs. They did do some things that are different/unique versus say Panini Kabob which was awesome. read more

I heard about this spot from a family friend in my Persian community and knew I had to check it out. As someone who's spent years learning my grandmother's recipes, I have pretty high standards for Persian food. I loved the fact that two sisters opened the restaurant together, and wanted to support a local business run by and for our Iranian community. Last week I had a serious craving for Tahchin-- for the uninitiated, picture a crunchy, rich rice cake, with a golden crust speckled with little barberry jewels. Typically, tahchin has pieces of chicken hidden within each slice. This is one of my ultimate comfort meals: tangy, filling, and crisp. This particular tahchin was unique in that the chicken was served on the side in the form of a juicy kabob, rather than included inside of the cake itself. Motivated by equal parts intrigue and hunger, I ordered online, and decided to add on a pomegranate rose drink. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick estimated pickup time, especially considering that Persian food is very much a labor of love....emphasis on labor. By the time I drove over, the food was packaged. The lady at the register was extremely prompt, and showed me my food to make sure I was ok with what I ordered. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the portion was large, and that it included a very generously sized side of salad shirazi (a delicious chopped tomato and cucumber salad with a lemon and olive oil dressing that is a standard at every Iranian meal) as well as several slices of fresh, warm bread (again, are you really eating Persian food if you don't have plenty of bread with onions and butter to pinch your meal into little mini sandwiches?). She also told me that my drink wasn't offered in-house, and that the website was a little outdated. She then offered to substitute my drink with another. She quickly called over a young man who took me to the bar and showed me the different options. He showed me a couple of options, including some beautiful orange spritzes. He offered two, but I politely declined in favor of just one. When I got home, I searched for the spritz out of curiosity....the value of two of those drinks far exceeded what I had initially paid for the pomegranate drink. I was stunned by the generosity and impeccable customer service I had the fortune of experiencing. Even with a full house on a Friday night, the entire transaction had taken maybe 3 minutes total. I will definitely be returning to Irvine Grill. I had enough food to carry over into the next day's lunch, and it was authentic and absolutely delicious! read more

I'm a massive fan of the tachin and there is no other Persian restaurant in the area that offers that. They also have delicious pastries to go with it. This review is based on two visits; I've eaten here for lunch both times. I'm not much of a fan of the menu because I don't care much for rice and salad so I'm interested in the entree, bread (extra) and hummus (extra). I was surprised how tender the chicken dishes are. I've had two different chicken dishes (forgot to take a photo of the first one) and both were good. The hummus doesn't taste as good as other places. I ordered the chicken kabob and it was pretty burnt to the point where I had to continuously remove charred pieces from it before taking a bite. The rice also tasted low quality and had a really odd flavor almost like algae. The salad is also boring composed mainly of lettuce and had a weird mayo-balsamic dressing. Also the layout and decor of the store is cheap and not well thought out. On April 17, 2026, I called Irvine Grill and made a reservation for dinner. I specifically requested a table indoors, and not on the patio. When I got there, I told the person at the desk that I had a reservation and I gave him my information. He never bothered to look for the reservation in their records. After a few minutes, though, he escorted us to the patio. When I told him that I'd specifically reserved an indoors table, he actually raised his voice to us and chastised us for making him "do more work" to seat us indoors. It was rude and unprofessional. We immediately left. Shortly after, I called the restaurant and spoke with one of the "partners" who apologized profusely, but did nothing to remedy the situation. The best she could offer me was to have me seated at a nice table. "Big deal," I thought, "all they had to do was sit us at a regular table in the first place."
