I came to Ocean 48 for my birthday dinner with a few of my girlfriends and we had the best time! I usually go to Steak 48, their sister restaurant, so I was really excited to finally try Ocean 48. Parking was super easy with valet, which made arriving stress-free. From the food to the atmosphere and service, everything made the night feel special. Our waitress, Celeste, was amazing! She was so sweet, attentive, and really made my birthday dinner memorable. We felt taken care of the entire night and never rushed. I'm so happy I decided to celebrate here and will definitely be back again!

Here for an Anniversary dinner. Wow. I read the reviews beforehand (using yelp's menu assistant!) so was prepared with my order lol. *pomegranate blood orange martini *caesar salad *petite filet mignon *chilean sea bass *corn(!) creme brulee *truffle fries Went with beignet tree for dessert. At this point, we are stuffed, and force ourselves to try the beignets, and they were worth it. All delicious - the fresh baked hand rolls to start also were addicting. Highlights were the entrees (sea bass was huge), and the corn! Probably would not order the fries again in the future because we were already pretty full from everything - they were delicious, just too much. Excellent service by Tiffanie (and the entire staff), and we were seated right next to the pool. Amazing. Great place for special occasions and more. Highly recommend reservations - we came early (4:15pm) because that's what was available...it was actually really nice to be seated before the place got super busy. Enjoy!

My husband and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary last night at Ocean 48. We made last minute reservations on OpenTable earlier in the day. We let them know in advance we were celebrating our anniversary. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation, parked nearby, and made our way to the entrance. The doorman let us in. I checked in with the hostess and were told that our table would be ready shortly. We waited maybe a few minutes and we were shown to our table. It was our first visit and it will not be our last. Our server was David and he was superb. He asked us which anniversary we were celebrating, and we let him know, which would come into play later in the meal. He also gave us a Happy Anniversary card from the manager, which was a nice gesture. We ordered a glass of prosecco and Stone IPA as drinks. By the way, the hazy IPA on their menu is non-alcoholic, which David alerted us to. David brought us a complimentary prosecco toast, as we were celebrating, which was a wonderful gesture. We ordered the grassfed NY Strip (medium rare), Iberico pork chop (medium), loaded baked potato, and brussels sprouts. We let him know that we'd share everything and they made sure to cut the meat in advance for us. The steak was my favorite of the two entrees. The meat was perfectly cooked and served on a piping hot platter. The pork chop was split in two and cooked a little bit over medium, which I found a bit dry, but it was good. The potato was piled with toppings and felt decadent. The brussels sprouts with roasted with thick cuts of bacon and was good but needed a little acid like a balsamic glaze to make it less bitter. For dessert, we opted for the triple chocolate bomb, which was complimentary, because we were celebrating. It was decorated with chocolate "Happy Anniversary" and "Cheers to 4 years". David also surprised us with the beignets as well. The beignet tree is an off-menu, not so secret item, and they were delicious although a little dense. The beignets platter came decorated with "Congratulations" in chocolate. My husband is from New Orleans so he has had quite a few beignets over his lifetime. The accompanying sauces for the beignets were amazing too. The vanilla anglaise was my favorite of the two. The chocolate bomb was filled with chocolate mousse and more my husband's speed. He delighted in the chocolate mousse. We were so full so we had to box it up to take home. David also brought us chocolate crinkle cookies with our check. The meal was FANTASTIC and one of the best I have had in a while, despite some of the hiccups. The excellent service more than made up for it and we loved celebrating our special occasion at Ocean 48. If you can, request David as your server, because he will take care of you. Thank you to David and the staff at Ocean 48 for giving us a memorable experience. We will be back to celebrate more milestones in the future. 5 Stars.

Reserve ahead, dress code: our experience was amazing. Our server and food runners were very attentive and spot on with timing. We got a back room which seemed more private even though there were probably 10 tables in total. We started with the Michele Chiarlo "Nivole" Moscato. If you want a super sweet sparkling light white whine get this. I always ask for the sweetest drink and this was perfect for me (I will be searching for this bottle in stores) and the Admire by Dan Kosta red wine. Not sweet at all but fruity flavors. We started with the complimentary semi sweet house rolls, flaky warm and moist inside with butter. We got the wood roasted Spanish octopus which was to die for. The flavors tomatoes potatoes and octopus was cooked to perfection. Perfect amount of salt and spice with the most perfect tender octopus tentacles We always order for the table to share: Lobster rolls, sweet corn crème brûlée, grass fed ny strip (medium rare 12oz), and roasted Mediterranean branzino sea bass 10oz. *Both Served on 500degree plates to keep things warm, hence a medium rare steak* Everything was delicious. The lobster rolls were perfect and it seemed like we got 2-3 normal sized rolls combined for the price of one $39. Usually one roll elsewhere cost $28-$36 so I was shocked with the amount of fresh lobster was on that appetizer. The sweet corn crème brûlée was phenomenal. A wonderful side to pair with the salty entrees and lobster. The steak was 7/10 nothing special and I believe it should've been sliced a little thinner but the flavor was good. The branzino bass melted in your mouth. It was buttery and cooked to perfection. Good portion as well. We finished the night with their triple layer key lime pie. It had a fresh graham cracker crust and whipped cream with light strawberry puree painted on the plate. Not too sweet at all it was perfect; we had to take it home after being full from everything. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back. The ambience food and service was recognizable. Their wine list is also a shock and liked by many.

I took a family member here for dinner. It was a great experience. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food, especially the steak, is the best I've ever had. The desserts are delicious. The ambience is very elegant. Overall, I would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you to the staff for making the night so memorable.

Ambience is spectacular. From the backsplash waterfall doubling as step n repeat, to the main entrance of welcoming hostesses you are immediately mesmerized by the aesthetics. The open display seafood window is mouth-watering. The room with a pool adjacent to dining tables is a romantic experience. Our menu choices were sinfully enjoyed by our party. Recommend trying the chicken fried lobster appetizer and for dessert the beignet tree. Cocktails and mocktails were enjoyed by all, and our server, Andrew, made the experience a memorable one. Our family owns pizza restaurants in OC so we look forward to evenings when we can dress and dine in fashion. The establishment took an extra step of service to call the next day to ensure we enjoyed our experience. We will be back. Thank you.

This is a great place to go for special occasions and celebrations. The food is good and you can get doll up for dindin and drinks. We tried dry aged ribeye this time and it was delicious!!!! Also tried the Cesar salad and that was good too. It comes with 2 poached eggs - great dish to share. Dry aged steak- this was so good!! My only advice is to be mindful of how you want your steak to be cooked since they bring a HOT plate out. We might ask for sharing plates that are normal temperature next time. The steak was cooked a little more than I had preferred. Ultimate warm vanilla caramel cake with vanilla ice cream- wow that cake was good too. Let me tell you about the bread- freshly baked and delicious!! Salad, steak and dessert was all good! Staff was very nice. Great job Ocean 48 Team!!

Top notch restaurant for a celebration. We had a slight change in our party count for our reservations, and hostesses accommodated without issue. We were sat and presented with a hand written card for my birthday. Nice touch. Jason was our server and came over to greet us. He made amazing recommendations. Some of the favorites of the night: -Chicken Fried Lobster Tails -Bone Marrow -Corn Crème Brûlée -Branzino -Bone in Filet The atmosphere is so classy, yet welcoming. Service was top notch. There were so many more things I'd love to try so we will have to come back. Jason did an amazing job, and really took care of us. We would come back for the service he provided alone. It was a great night!

It was my first time and celebrating my birthday here. They had amazing service, states all the recommendations and the waiter even gave his personal favorites. We got the clams and mussels which were amazing! The broth was so good! The filet mignon, scallops, creme brûlée corn, and shells and cheese were amazing too! The seafood was fresh and the steak was tender. The restaurant itself felt so nice and luxury. We weren't rushed and was able to really enjoy our time hanging out with great drinks. I'd recommend ocean 48 to everyone! I will be back!

My wife and i came about 6 months ago with her family. The food wasn't up to the usual standard. 90% of the food was overly salted and borderline inedible. The manager reached out to us to make it right. We returned and have nothing but praise. The food was great. The service amazing. We were short on time (due to a movie screening) so the staff went above and beyond to allow us to come back after the movie to pick up a fresh dessert. I can't name many places that go above and beyond like this for its customers. Well done and thank you for having us.

A true 5+ stars experience! Starting with the incredible service from every single staff member greeting from the valet guys, welcoming of the hostesses and super friendly and helpful servers! The decor and the ambiance is beautiful and to top it off absolutely amazing taste of every single dish that was beautifully presented! Probably the best octopus dish outside of Spain and Portugal! Tender and with excellent seasoning! A cauliflower is a must to order as well! Great restaurant for any occasion! Will be back! Thank you guys!

This is the most flawless dinner experience I have ever had. We came to celebrate my husband's birthday. We made a reservation and we got a very nice seating. The server came by to say hi and introduce us the menu and daily specials. Not like the normal restaurant, the introduction is so detailed and vivid and they are truly familiar with the steak origin and cut. We ordered two whiskey drinks to start with, they are great and generous with the drinks. House bread is super buttery and fluffy. We ordered the grilled octopus as the appetizer. I didn't have any hope, we tried a lot of octopus in the past, they all tasted rubbery and I don't know why my husband wants to try again but it is his birthday. The octopus is the best octopus I have ever had! Super tender and soft and extremely flavorful. Then we ordered the bone marrow, the presentation is amazing. The biggest bone marrow I have ever seen with garlic truffle butter and lit on fire. We ordered the corn fed NY strip & mash potato to share since we are getting full. They were able to split the steak to cook different temperatures for us. The steak is the best steak I have ever had also. It comes with extremely hot plate that's going to burn your finger off and servant keep mentioning it. I was shocked that they are able to keep the steak so juicy and char even on such a hot plate . Every bite of the steak is marvelous even though our stomach is already gonna explode. And what surprised me more is the mash potatoes, I seriously hate mash potatoes in general but this mash potatoes completely changed my mind! I'm letting myself to see the possibilities again. Last but not least we got the coconut cream pie for my husband. My husband made a very good coconut cream pie already. But this coconut cream is still surprised us. Super creamy with crispy coconut nip inside, every bite is giving an explosive coconut flavor but not overly sweet. Normally high end restaurants are kinda overpriced and overrated with our experience, you always find one or two items that you feel like this is not worth it. But every second in ocean 48 shocked me about the food quality, the service, and the exceptional flavors. Even the bathroom is super clean with great speaker and a bidet. I have so much admiration for the chef and hope this restaurant will remain this type of high quality. We will definitely be back!

    Is kids allow?

Yes. But I wouldn't bring a child if they'll just be screaming or yelling. That'll cause a horrible experience for everyone.

The staff who assisted with seating and bringing silverware were also friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, our dining experience declined once our order was taken. We ordered the Beets Salad as our starter, followed by the Chicken Piccata and Salmon as our entrées. The salad arrived within about five minutes, but we then waited nearly 40 minutes for our main courses without any acknowledgment or update. When I asked our waitress about the delay, her only response was, "Your order was fired 15 minutes ago." When I asked why it had taken so long, she simply repeated the same statement. At no point did she offer a sincere apology or show any empathy for the extended wait. As someone who has owned and managed businesses, I know that delays can happen. However, a simple apology and proactive communication can make all the difference in how guests perceive the experience. The food itself was excellent, and both entrées were well prepared. Unfortunately, the service continued to disappoint. After we finished our meals, our waitress immediately cleared our plates and brought the check without asking whether we would like dessert, coffee, or anything else to finish our evening. That was surprising and made us feel rushed. I rarely leave negative reviews because I understand that every business can have an off night. In this case, however, the issue was not the kitchen delay--it was the lack of communication, empathy, and basic hospitality. Had our waitress simply apologized, kept us informed, or involved a manager, this review likely would not have been necessary. I hope management views this as constructive feedback. Andrea and several other staff members represented the restaurant exceptionally well, but I believe additional customer service training would help ensure that situations like this are handled with greater professionalism and care in the future.

He refreshes our memory by saying they specialize making variations of classics. They want customers to focus on the flavors and that's why the menu doesn't list the spirit in their drinks. Also, they only make drinks on the menu because their drinks are prebatched/premade. We ask for recommendations which he was happy to give. We each order a drink and a snack for the table. As we're talking (very loudly so we can hear each other), we lose track of time before we realize that it's been 20 minutes and we haven't gotten our drinks yet. For something that's prebatched, it shouldn't take long. Before we can flag down the waiter, he comes by and apologizes that they lost our order and had to put it back in. We appreciate the honesty and say it's no problem. 5 minutes later, our drinks and food arrives. He again apologizes for the wait and has a second order of our food that he's including for free. Honestly we were ok with just the apology, but extra food too? Hell yea. Sounds like it was turning around. The drinks were okay. Not amazing, but definitely above average 3.8 / 5. The snack, bread and butter, were surprisingly good. 4.5 / 5 When we asked for the check, the waiter brought the credit card reader and told us we can swipe our card any time and left it on our table. We look at the bill and realize the waiter not only gave us the 2nd snack for free, but comp'd 2 of the drinks also. We all agree this waiter is GREAT. So why the 2 stars? Well first let me say, I would leave it at 1 star, but the waiter definitely earned them another. We wanted to pay cash, so we waited for him to come back. Instead, the original rude bartender comes by and realizes we haven't paid yet. We ask if we can pay with cash. He explains that they don't accept cash. Friend: Are you sure? *Proceeds to try to insert cash into the chip reader slot* Bartender: You're pretty stupid, aren't you? Friend: Maybe if I swipe it instead *Doubles down and proceeds to swipe the cash through the magnetic strip reader* Bartender: Wow, you really are stupid. My friend is a 100% a goofball and having fun with the bartender. It was OBVIOUS that he was joking. Was it funny? A little. Was it stupid? 100%. But for the bartender or ANY customer service staff to call a paying customer "stupid", that's simply unacceptable. We're all pretty pissed at this point and simply swipe the card and the bartender leaves. As I said earlier, we've come here a few times. We don't live especially close, but when we're in the area, we would always consider coming here. Now, there's no chance. For any business, even if your drinks and food are great, customer service can easily DESTROY your experience and that's exactly what the bartender did. Note to the male bartender with no hair: You really shouldn't be interacting with customers. You were rude from the start and have no sense of humor. Could you be having a bad day? Sure, but that's not an excuse to be rude to customers. I know management saw my original post because it was removed, probably because I referred to the bartender by his hairstyle (or lack thereof) multiple times. If they rather remove my post than deal with their bartender, that's another sign to avoid this place.
