They also had a food court and I definitely have to try it next time I go. We stayed there for 5 hours and it was so relaxing. They also have additional services like massages and scrubs. First time to a Korean spa and it was quite the experience. This place is huge but very clean. I booked an oil massage 55 minutes for $135 which includes use of the facilities for 4 hours. You're given a uniform and a wristband locker key when you check in. First stop is to put away your shoes. Then you enter the locker room to put on our uniforms. We had the massages first. The oil aka Swedish massage was ok. Good pressure but interesting technique. No use of forearms or elbows really. After the massage we went into the common areas to use the hot and ice rooms there. A lot of people were listening to music or watching their iPad or wearing a paper face mask. Then we went to the restaurant and ordered a bibimbap with bulgogi to share and was actually really good. Next was the wet area. You have to be naked in this area so if it's your first time it may be a little intimidating. They have a steam and dry sauna and 3 small pools - hot, warm and ice. I only lasted a minute in the ice bath! They have showers both standing and sitting and a large area if you want to do your hair and make up as well. You can definitely make a day of it here. I didn't fully know what to expect. I've been to two similar spas before--one in Atlanta and an onsen in Tokyo--so I had some frame of reference. I'd describe this as an affordable place to lounge and reset. It's not fancy or luxurious in any way, but you can easily spend five or six hours rotating between the hot tubs (which are very hot), the ice-cold cold plunge, various saunas, the salt room, and the "ice room" (cold, but not freezing). There's also a large common room with heated tile floors where you can nap or read on mats. That part was genuinely relaxing. The Good * The salt room * Heated tile floors * Very hot tubs and solid sauna options * Spacious, calm common lounging area * Food looked and smelled great The Bad The biggest issue for me was sanitation. Slippers aren't allowed, yet during the five hours I was there, I didn't see the floors cleaned once. In a high-traffic, barefoot environment, that's concerning. Have they ever heard of athlete's foot? I got some foot spray today bc my foot is starting to itch a ) The women's bathroom consistently had bits of tissue paper on the floor (those dispensers are hard to manage), and I saw a used Q-tip (thankfully no visible ear wax!) and a bottle cap left in the salt room. The hot tubs also seemed heavily chlorinated--my eyes were burning after about eight minutes. It was President's Day, so it was crowded. There were a few pre-teens being their kid selves--not badly behaved--but without supervision it made the space less relaxing. They made up games in the ice room and took up the whole space (cute... but also, not exactly spa vibes). One of the kids was coughing up a lung every six minutes, which definitely didn't help the relaxation factor. As for the café: food averaged around $20 per plate. It looked and smelled good, but for that price, you can eat at one of the many nearby restaurants, be served at a table, get your food in under 45 minutes, and not have to clean up after yourself. The setting just doesn't quite justify the price point. -------------- The $180 Scrub + Massage (120 minutes) This experience deserves its own section. First, the scrub is no joke. The treatment area is on the gender-separated side of the spa. Therapists escort you to a semi-private space with a vinyl-covered table that's intentionally wet for the exfoliation. At first I was confused--but yes, they wet the table on purpose. And scrub they do. It is thorough. Extremely thorough. I felt like a dirty dish getting scrubbed with a Brillo pad full of Irish Spring bar soap (that's exactly what it smelled like). They get very close to some private areas--so just be prepared. The warm water poured over you throughout was actually lovely, and my skin felt incredibly clean afterward. Then you shower and return for the massage portion on a dry table. Now--the massage. My friend and I both joked that we got the "angry massage." It's clearly cultural rather than personal, but it involves firm, abrupt movements--arms and legs repositioned quickly, deep pressure, strong stretches, and occasional jarring pushes. At one point, my "bad" knee (which has visible surgical scars) was placed in an awkward position and what felt like a full judo or kung fu move was done on it. It's still a bit sore. My friend has a shoulder injury, and her masseuse yanked and pulled her shoulders back in the blink of an eye, causing pain. They don't ask beforehand about tender areas to avoid, which would have helped. To be fair, the therapist wasn't actually angry--we figured that out once we started laughing through some language misunderstandings. At some point we were cracking each other up. But during the massage itself, you genuinely can't tell what's happening or what's coming next. The face mask was a pleasant surprise--cold but refreshing. I passed on the hair shampoo. Interestingly, I didn't feel relaxed during the massage. It felt more like an ordeal. But afterward? I did feel looser and calmer overall (knee aside). It worked--it just wasn't the soothing, tranquil experience I personally prefer. ------------ Final Thoughts For $40 admission, I'd go back just to enjoy the hot tubs, salt room, and lounging areas--IF sanitation improved and slippers were provided. As for the $180 treatment, I'll likely go elsewhere--not because it's bad, but because I prefer a calmer massage style and a more serene environment. If you're looking for an affordable, spend-the-day spa experience and don't mind a no-frills, high-traffic atmosphere, this may work for you. For my bestie's bday, we each had a one hour full body massage and spent another 4 hours enjoying all the amenities, including a delicious Korean meal to conclude the visit. There is a 6 hour limit. I loved the heated rooms and the fact that there are a good handful of them. Each room explains the benefits and some have suggested usage time. Also enjoyed the saunas, hot tubs and cold plunge in the same sex locker rooms where you will be nude in. The entire facility is clean and spacious. There is a restaurant inside and we enjoyed Sundubu Jjigae (boiling tofu soup) and even marinated raw crab with rice. Everything tasted great and hit the spot after a spa day. Reviewing again because I got the chance to come back with my husband and try the cafe. So yummy!!! We probably ordered too much which was not the best idea since you can't take leftovers here. My husband ordered the short rib and bulgogi and I had the veggie japchae and gimbap. We also ordered some drinks, the blueberry smoothie and the Thai slush and these weren't worth it for sure, probably should have just gone for the fresh juice. The japchae was soooo yummy. Still dreaming about this. Everything was hot and fresh. The egg garnish was so aesthetic. The gimbap was decent but I've had better, probably wouldn't order this again. This place would be 100% perfect if only the private spa areas separated by women and men were bigger. For the women there are two hot pool areas and one cold one, all a little bit small and can get crowded with there are a lot of people. I love the variety they have they have a lot of different hot rooms like clay, ice, etc. The common room is huge for you to lay around and there's even a study room you can do some work. This is my favorite spa I've become a regular at! I've visited with my boyfriend and my mom and sister. It's an easy process and they do provide a variety of sizes of uniforms so if you're on the bigger side you ah e nothing to worry about. The locker rooms are super clean and the process is very straightforward. I'd recommend bringing a face mask to relax in while you're there and I'd definitely bring some small personal hygiene supplies for when you shower (ex. Hair brush, deodorant) the lotion they have smells super good and is very lightweight. The fire room is the hottest room there so I'd definitely time how long you stay and if you're feeling too hot, the ice room is where you can refresh yourself. My friend calls this place her santuary. Where she decompresses from her 3 kids and endulge in "me" time. We went on a Tuesday morning (9:30AM), and we practically had the place to ourselves. By 11, there was noticiably more people. We mainly hung out in the cafeteria area and talked - just catching up on gossip and our lives. There were people of all ages enjoying the facility. I thought everything was very clean and well maintained. The outside is so unassuming - like any warehouse building and definitely wouldn't have noticed. There are plenty of parking. The max stay is 6 hours per visit. There is an extra fee if you stay over. I was able to use their office space to apply to jobs and follow up on emails. I noticed a lot of college students also hangout and working in the space. Overall, definitely recommend if you're in the area and looking to rest. read more

No doubt--100% one of the best Korean spas I've been to. I can't hype this spot enough--the people here were seriously amazing. I told them upfront about being in treatment for a back injury and asked them to please be extra gentle, and somehow they pulled off a full-body scrub while still being INCREDIBLY CAREFUL. My skin was LUMINOUS FOR DAYS. Aside from the scrub, we got a seaweed treatment that smelled incredible. I was a little hesitant coming in because of my back--I've been super cautious with massages this year--but the staff were true pros. They listened, adjusted everything, and made the whole experience feel safe and overall relaxing. ISpa was super accommodating. TIP: Korean spa experiences are different from a typical spa experience (think full-body scrubs, longer sessions and common areas with other peeps). Here is what you need to know to have the best experience as a girl (idk I hear it's different on the guy side): -order a Korean scrub pad set from Amazon and bring yourself to scrub -bring your own shampoos and conditioner, body lotion, face wash, face masks etc -bring a water bottle - they have refill stations. Make sure you are hydrated before. -I bring my shark hair styler, brush, and ear buds I spa is my time to use all my fun products and just focus on myself. The massages and scrubs are very traditional - meaning it's not gentle or a relaxing experience. The ladies scrub your skin down and to a very sporadic massage which is the norm honestly for Korean spas. I have recently felt I miss nothing when I don't get the scrub because see advice above. Ladies - if you are going with a guy - please give yourself like 1 hour minimum in the gender separated area cause you'll need it to enjoy all the amenities. I have found that men finish the sauna area in like 30 minutes which is not enough time for me. I set expectations that they will be waiting for me and to bring a book. The jjimjilbang is visually really beautiful with multiple co-ed rooms. But, it's just too hot for me. I don't really spend too much time there. The restaurant is okay - the tofu soup is a bit watery. I would try to eat elsewhere if possible but it's convenient. The bad - I've seen a cockroach in the hair washing area. The initially showers are really smelly. People leave used towels everywhere. It can get really busy. Overall - I think it's worth 40 dollars entrance. First time coming here. This is a place where you have to be very comfortable being nude. There's one section for the ladies and one section for the men. Once you check in, the worker will give you a pair of uniform (in which you need to use in the common area) and key to the lockers. There will be two separate lockers; one locker for your shoes and the main locker for your clothes and any personal items. This place doesn't provide slippers so you will walk about barefoot and towel provided here are quite small, which you can't wrap your body. In the pool area, you'll be able to find couple warm pool and cold pool, and stream sauna and dry sauna. The only thing about the scrubbing area is that its not fully private so it can get noisy which you won't be able to relax as much. I did the body scrub and much which is for $125 for 1 hour. They will scrub every inch of your body. My body felt very clean after all the deadskin that have been removed. As for the massage, the person that i had was a little rough. I can tell that she was using her forearm a lot and poke kinda hard at certain part of the body. Other than that, you will also get cucumbers mask, get your hair wash, and use some kind of milk that they pour on your body. After your services finish, you will get an envelope for tips...it will have the name of the person whoneither scrub or massage I enjoyed using the common area. You'll need to wear your uniform in order to use common area. There's 5 rooms to choose from: salt, ice, fire, forest, and ondol. Took my husband here on a date. I got the oil massage and he got acupressure (both no body scrub. We both enjoyed it but warning, you and other ppl of your gender will be naked. Some takeaways: 1. Although not necessary, bring cash including $1 bills for the massage chairs, vending machine, kids claw games, and tips. 2. Come early and enjoy all the amenities. It's pretty relaxing! The first time I came, I only went in the hot tub. Dude. I was totes missing out. I kept going in the steam room, cold shower, hot sauna, cold shower, cold plunge, and hot tub in that order over and over only staying for a minute or two each time. Love it. For the cold the only thing I have to say is, Nike - Just Do It. Dunk yourself; it's not as bad as you think and you get used to it. 3. It is mandatory. Take a shower before going in the bath area. They have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but feel free to bring your own. You can put personal items in a basket just outside the shower area. No shower slippers. 4. There are two lockers - one for your shoes and a second larger for everything else. They have a vanity with lotion, Q-tips, and hair dryers. If you scheduled a session, you should come at least 30 minutes early, take a shower, and enjoy the amenities. They will call your locker number when it is time. If you don't get a body scrub, your massage will take place in a coed massage area and you will be asked to put your uniform back on. When you get to the massage room, they will ask you to take the uniform off if you are getting an oil massage. 5. You don't typically need a reservation here, walk ins are almost always welcomed. What to expect: - Once you walk in, you pay first and get a set of clothes to change into - Female/Men rooms are separated, and that's where you get changed into the clothes or use the spa amenities - For the spa, you are fully butt naked and they provide small towels - About 70% of the time I'm there, the towels don't refresh fast enough so you're kind of stuck walking around butt naked lol (there's a sauna room, steam room, many different pools, standing showers, and sitting showers (I would say it's semi clean, I don't really see piles of hair or gross things floating around) - Once you're done with the spa area, there's the different rooms you can walk to (this is co-ed and where you'd put on the clothes they provided) I love that there's different areas to experience like the ice room, a clay room, etc. You can read about it and it's benefits then spend 10-15 minutes of each room. Our annual I-Spa visit with our boys this time! They weren't into the idea of body scrubs (shocking), so while my husband and I got our usual treatments, they went for acupressure massages instead. I had Lily this time, and she was amazing. I usually go with whoever's available because I've never had a bad experience here, but if you're looking to request someone, Lily is a great choice. She's professional, kind, and really attentive. She checked in a few times to make sure the pressure was just right. Total 5/5. The boys finished their treatments before us and headed to the café to grab dinner. They ordered spicy sweet potato starch noodles (5/5) and hot stone bulgogi (5/5). Both were hits. Drinks? Not so much. Watermelon juice got a 2/5, and the strawberry juice is 0/5. I even asked if they could add a few pumps of syrup to save the strawberry juice, and the staff was happy to try. Unfortunately, it was still pretty bad. I'd skip the juices altogether. One of my sons had read some odd reviews about the men's side, so I was a little nervous about bringing them. This was my first time at a Korean spa and it was a nice, new experience. I arrived with my husband on a Monday morning and it was not busy at all which was a huge plus, especially being my first time and not being used to the customs of a Korean spa. For one thing, you store your shoes in the most outer lockers and walk barefoot everywhere, including the bathrooms. When you go inside, you change into these pink (female) or brown (male) outfits which are a shirt and shorts combo. These outfits are to be worn everywhere except for the wet (pool) areas. In the wet pool areas of the designated female and male sides, you are to be completely naked. You can put your outfits in a basket at the front of the pool area. The pool area has stand up showers, wet sauna, dry sauna, hot pool, warm pool, and cold pool, and a seated shower area. There's a large common area to walk around and rest, a restaurant, and a room with different saunas, and a kids room. I got a golden body scrub and massage. It was great. The lady was fabulous and really scrubbed every nook and crannie. There was a little misunderstanding. At one point in a middle of it she had told me to shower, so I went and did a full shower and rinsed my hair out. She went to the shower area and saw I was washing out my hair and looked annoyed and said, "not the hair! Just the body". I said, "oh sorry, you said shower so I thought that meant hair too". She was visibly annoyed but moved on. She told me to take another shower in the middle of everything again and I confirmed with her, "wash hair or no?" She said "no hair". So, for future reference, clarify the instructions if you have any questions. She did a good job with the scrub though. The massage was okay, not amazing. The star of it all is really the scrub treatment which I highly recommend. After the treatment, we ate at the restaurant which really hit the spot. The food was great. We got the bibimbap, bulgogi, and peach green tea. It was perfect. I tried out a few of the saunas in the common area. My husband tried them all out including the ice room. Admission is $35 per person to use the baths and the jjimjilbang area for 6 hours, which I feel is completely reasonable. My friend and I had 7pm reservations for the $135 body scrub and massage package. Unfortunately, my experience with SUMI was the worst I've ever had. The body scrub felt rushed and half-hearted, almost like the scrub material was already worn out. The massage was even worse--far too much pressure with hurried, rough movements that felt careless rather than relaxing. She rushed me when flipping over, hit my head several times during the head massage, and overall handled me very roughly. Left and right. That is the start of how gender is separated at Irvine Spa. It's a Korean spa and it's clean and sparkly in the lobby. You check in and pay the 35 dollar spa fee for six hours or set up a massage, which includes access to the spa as well. No shoes allowed. The first thing they do is assign you a key and you put your shoes into the shoe locker before you check in and either go naked for the massage or change into pink pajamas for the spa. It's a nice locker room and often cleaned up. Lots of naked bodies, and while there's initial discomfort, it's also cool to see how comfortable people are! Massage was interesting! Your number is called and they start the scrubbing process. Every part of my body was scrubbed diligently, and then I'm told to shower, and make room for the deep tissue massage. Again, it takes some time to get used to but once you let go and enjoy the moment, it becomes very relaxing and serene. My favorite part was the cucumber mask. I felt like a new rejuvenated woman. Other areas include the various heat rooms that target different things like stress, chronic fatigue, etc. visually pleasing and nice. Does get crowded at times. Bring your laptop or a book if you want to do some work. There's a cafeteria and a play room for kids too! Everyone needs to try this at least once! read more

Pretty standard Korean spa they offer the misty sauna, dry sauna, hot pools and cold pool with your admission. They also have great massages, I've received the acupressure one before and it was really good I was very sore after but felt very relaxed. My leg just happened to be on my date's lap, nothing else and the security guy made such a big deal out of it like we were hooking up when we were just on our phones, TV on, fully clothed. So he felt uncomfortable and left and I tried to make the most of the night but that Arab looking security guy made me so uncomfortable that I saw him follow me around everywhere even when I was drinking water in my locker. Enjoyed my spa day here. There's plenty of space in the common area. The staff are working hard and they constantly clean and bring new towels for use. There's TVs on the wall with no sound, still entertaining. Phone is only allowed in the common area. Would've liked it if they are open earlier...other than that it's overall a good spa. read more

Well, I been there consistently for 3 years. I usually have a body scrub once a while and yesterday I called the spa for body scrub and they push me to have a massage with it and it's coat just extra $25. I took it and it was worst massage experience in my life. DO NOT EVER GET A MASSAGE Women did this to me has zero knowledge about massage. She put so much pressure on my Spine and joints and it was hurts and I told her but she keep doing it. I have to stop it and she doesn't speak any English. After the session my body was so sore and next morning I felt like a I got a beat up and many bruised marks on my legs. She was just awful.... I will never get any service at this place. Went here for my birthday and had a WONDERFUL time !! I've been to other spas before and if you're into wellness you probably have heard of Wi-Spa (located in DTLA). After visiting Irvine-Spa, I can say that this facility is much better, cleaner and calmer than Wi-Spa. The atmosphere and vibes inside are sooo relaxing and I loved how cute the common area was. Heated floors, plenty of space to lay down and rest and everyone was respectful and considerate of their presence. It's the same as other spa set ups. You check in ($40 for 6 hours) and they will hand you clothes to change into and a wristband that has a key for your lockers. From there you either go to the women's or men's and change. Inside the locker rooms they have steam saunas, dry saunas, jacuzzis, cold plunge pool, showers etc. - FYI you do have to be naked for these parts. From the locker rooms there is an entrance that goes to the common room where the other saunas are located !! - these you remain clothed for. My favorite was the salt sauna room which had salt walls and floors and I left feeling amazing and with my skin super soft. I also loved the bulgama room - the dry clay smelled amazing and got super hot. The ice room was nice too and got really cold. There is also a resturant located in the common room where I got vegetable fried rice - so good !! Overall my time here was a 10/10 and this is my new to go spa! Well worth the admission price and the facility was clean and honestly not too packed for a Sunday. I would recommend bringing your own toiletries - hairbrushes, face masks, lotion etc. it's nice to put on a face mask while going into the different saunas. New management keeps making changes to cheap out and bring down the experience. I can understand prices going up when you upgrade the place but they mostly just cut corners. They also changed the kid policy to 7 years, excluding kids that have been going there for the last year. We got turned away by the staff (hazel) who said out 6 year old who's turning 7 in 2 weeks is too young. As we left we were told by patrons that there were clearly kids inside at that moment who were around 3! So not only were we lied to, they clearly have some agenda. read more

First time at Irvine Spa and it was such a cool experience! One thing I really wish they would offer to each person would be slippers lol. Especially when using the restroom, you're whole feet has to touch the floor? I get that it looks clean, but it also just feels extremely weird without slippers lol. Also I wish they could have assigned us lockers that are more spread out? It seems like all the girls were in the same row of lockers, but there were other lockers that were completely empty. So everyone was literally changing right next to each other. The warm baths and saunas are connected from the changing area. It's amusing to see that everyone is really chatty with each other, so it seems like many people come here with their friends. Finishing up from there, you can walk to the common area with heated floors. You can see others just lying down or sleeping, it's a very nice area to relax with others. There are also other hot rooms on the other side which my personal favorite may be the forest and salt room... maybe because that is the most I could handle haha. It gets soooo hot in there. My bf enjoyed the ice room the most lol. On the other side, there is a cafeteria that they even have the tables where you can sit on the floor! The prices look a bit pricey here, but seems like its for the experience. Overall, for general admission of $35, it's really cool to check out and it's pretty worth with all the amenities they have to offer. I loved my visit to I-Spa. I went on a Monday from 4 p.m. until close, as the daily admission is valid for six hours. Be aware that if you stay beyond that, they may charge you again. Parking is convenient with their own private lot. This was my second time at a Korean spa. After paying in the lobby, you store your shoes in a shoe locker. Once you're changed and your belongings are secured in a locker, you're free to explore at your own pace. The food at the restaurant was delicious, with a mix of regular tables, floor seating, and a water station available. I spent $10 for a 30-minute session on a massage chair before heading to the co-ed rooms. I alternated several times between the heated rooms and the ice room, eventually napping on the heated floors in the large common area. Later, I made my way to the gender-segregated bathhouse, where I relaxed in the hot, warm, and cold pools. I also took advantage of the steam room, sauna, and both standing and seated showers. If you have personal preferences, I recommend bringing your own face mask and toiletries like shampoo, soap, razor, shaving cream, hairbrush, or hair mask. The spa does provide toothbrushes and a basic shampoo/conditioner/body wash set. Towels are provided, so no need to pack your own. This was a lovely experience with friends as we wanted to relax and explore the spa. Different saunas are differing in heat and cold rooms are in the spa section. It was enjoyable to relax in each room. The locker rooms are separate by gender and once you enter the spa, it is coed. There is a massage chair room as well as another relaxation area outside of the sauna room. As for food, there is plenty to select from and eat at the food court. For food, I got the delicious bibimbap! It was savory and had plenty of vegetables. I would definitely come here again with others! read more

Getting my "JJIMJJILBANG" On (4 stars) Update. It's been awhile since I've come to a Korean Spa. Last review I wrote about my first experience and the naked spa scrub and walking around naked. Welp, I decided to come again and skip the naked scrub because I simply felt bloated (otherside I would have). Instead I dropped $35 and spent 4 of 6 hrs getting my JjimJillbang on and eating delicious Korean food in between. Compared to last time I been here, this session... there were more people than before. I came first thing in the AM and saw a flux of people coming by 12. The rooms started to get crowded - whereas last time I was here there was barely anyone in the rooms. I spent majority of my time in the salt room, the hot(test room). And the ice room. The forest room was packed and maybe too much CO2 in the mix but when I went in I barely received the freshness of the "forest" in my sinuses. Yes, the crowd of people here are a mix bag - old, young, skinny, fat, male, female, everything and everybody. Nobody cares about, you do your own thing. I wish the elderly Asian women would show a little more courtesy. Quiet areas they are NOT quiet, in one of the rooms... the old lady kept burping up it was gross and disturbing but how can you be mad at an old Asian grandma... but still, come on. I would have stayed longer but more and more people kept coming that I just felt it was time to dip. I ended my session with stuffing my face in their cafeteria. Ok, THIS was an improvement from last time. I went with a hot stone bulgogi bowl this time and it was SO good. They do offer regular bulgogi bowl but you can ask for hot stone which makes the experience 10x better and tastier. I think I'm going to drive north and explore other Korean spas. Next time, I'll bring flip-flops for the shower and bathroom, as I wasn't used to going barefoot in wet areas. The rooms were great for sweating it out, and the cool room was the perfect finish.
