Took in a tennis racket for strings unbelievable even though I dropped it off 15 minutes before closing it was done the next day before 10 am. I had read horror stories about pga or big5 leaving marks on the racket from stringing machine but I got mine from them without even a single mark on it. They have any string you can think of available and their prices are extremely reasonable. Super friendly and helpful staff too. Will definitely be back in the future. Love these guys. They price match any deal you find online. I prefer to buy my family's racquets from here than going thru a big online retailer. I've bought 8+ racquets from here over the past few years. They don't carry alot of inventory in-house. They usually order it from the manufacturer and have it for you within a few days. I've never waited more than a week for a special order. Love the staff and they go out of their way to have your new racquet string and ready to go same day. They've expedited my racquet stringing when I needed them for a tournament. Tip: don't go there during peak hours 4-6pm or Saturday 10-1pm because parking in that plaza is a poop show. read more

So thankful I met a fellow tennis fan named Daniel who referred me to Irvine Tennis store. I'm a former touring pro who use to take my rackets to Mission Tennis with recommendation of my colleague Michael Chang , sadly the store closed before covid and I was then taking my rackets and having my students go to PGA superstore in Irvine . Upon Arrival I loved how the store was fully stocked with everything I needed at Irvine Tennis the selection was super , I took my nephews racket to get strung for the first time and they were so helpful and even returned the left over string. Price was only $25 with my own string which is cheapest I have seen so far . Came here to string my racquet. They are quick and accommodating. Price was reasonable for service.

I went in just to get some overgrips for my rackets. The large pack of the overgrip I wanted was out of stock and wasn't coming in until next week. I asked the owner if I could just buy a different one and instead of allowing me to pay him for that one, he gave me two of the overgrips that I wanted from his extra supplies for free because he didn't want me to buy a product that I would be unhappy with. A New Generation of Tennis Overall Rating: 5 Stars Experience No one does it like Irvine Tennis. Tennis stores generally overcharges compared to online/vendor prices (Shoes, Racquets, Grips, & other gear), but when I came here I experienced quite the opposite. After 10 years I decided to pick up my racquet recently & was able to get it restrung literally in less than 20 minutes for a pretty reasonable price(string included). The owner even gave me a small discount on shoes & everyone there seemed to really genuinely love tennis as well, such great vibes, & an employee even helped me learn a lot about how to choose racquets! Small tennis shop in Jeffrey/Walnut plaza (99 ranch side) that was recommended by my daughters tennis coach. They sell tennis gear: everything from shoes, to balls, rackets, wraps, as well as offer services like restringing rackets. We came here to restring my daughter's racket. The staff was excellent. They asked my daughter if she wanted the white or rainbow colored strings with a big smile on their face. Of course she wanted the rainbow, so she loved that they had the option. The racket was done exactly when they said it would be finished, and was restrung perfectly. Highly recommend this tennis shop. read more

I've been coming to Irvine Tennis for over 15 years, usually for my son's racquets and restringing. Yesterday I went in to buy a racquet for me...after a 20 year hiatus, I'm back in the court Kirk was super helpful in showing me my options , then volunteered to string my racquet while I waited so I didn't have to come back. It took less than 20 minutes, and he threw in a shock absorber and some new tape for whenever my white handle gets dirty. I couldn't have asked for a better shopping experience !! read more

I needed to regrip three of my rackets. Neil was awesome and helped me pick a grip. I walked in a 4:35 pm. They close at 5:00 pm. I walked out at 4:47 pm. It's the Jimmy John's of tennis in Irvine. This is the best community tennis shop in the world. I've been coming here for years for racquets, strings, shoes, etc. The staff is always so courteous and knowledgeable. They will give you the best deals possible, better than anything on the web. I recently bought a racquet for my young middle school daughter. I got a racquet with the smallest grip at the store. It turned out to be too big for her little hand. I brought the racquet back and asked what were my options as she had already played with the racquet. After reviewing some solutions, the owner eventually said he would take back the racquet and special order a new racquet with a smaller grip. For free! I was blown away. The generosity and understanding my predicament and taking the loss on the racquet overwhelmed me. I can't see places like Tennis Warehouse doing this for you. Affordable and authentic. I'm all for supporting local, small brick and mortar businesses. I have recently picked back up tennis after a 15 years hiatus and decided to restring my old Babolat racket to rally with some friends. Stopped into Irvine Tennis this past week and was greeted by Kirk and the team. Kirk was very helpful and assertive and told me my racket would be ready the next day for $20 -- very affordable. The reviews are real! After reading all the positive reviews, I visited Irvine Tennis to buy a new (more advanced) racket. He was very nice and helpful when asking several questions on how to pick a racket. He asked me about what I currently use, I ran to my car and showed him what I have (which is inexpensive one I bought from Dick's or Big5). After examining, he put new grip on it without me even asking. You can say it doesn't cost much to put new grip tape, but that's a nice gesture especially when he was busy stringing, receiving calls, etc (and I visited during lunch time). I need to finalize on which racket to get, and, once decided, I'll get one from this place for sure. The most important thing is its price is lower than what I searched online! They are the best for restringing, and I'm satisfied with their service. Their equipment and variety of selections are limited compared to online retails. I understand online retails give you a wider variety because of the low inventory cost. Local businesses deserve more support to stay alive, so online is not always my choice. They are certain things that local retail has an edge compared to online retail, such as : 1. Providing demo option for tennis rackets 2. Providing on-demand services ( pick and drop) for restringing, etc. That being said, I would suggest Irvine tennis add those services to their offering to compete with online retailers by levering their local store. I asked for a demo option. They had minimal options. They didn't have a demo option for the particular Wilson racket I was interested in. They don't have any pickup and drop-off services for restringing That being said, I give them four stars because they are the best local Tenis store in the area, but there are some gaps in terms of pick-up and drop off services and demo options. read more

I love supporting mom and pop shops but only when it's legitimately an honest, look-out-for-the-consumer type of business. And that's precisely what this place is. The owner (Kirk) is a sweet, unpretentious guy who is really knowledgeable about tennis rackets and is there to help the public increase their enjoyment of the sport. One of the first few times I was in there, I wanted to try the Wilson Blade before purchasing it. Kirk wrote down my name and number and gave me the racket to try. There's something so "neighborly" about this place. The owner just operates like he trusts everyone who comes through the door and that's not something you see in this day and age. The Wilson Blade 98 was a bit heavy for me and I returned it after sufficiently trying it out for over a week or so. When I returned it, Kirk suggested the Blade 100L. He didn't have a demo of it but didn't hesitate taking a new 100L off the shelf and turning it into a demo so I could try it before I commit. How did he know I'm such a commitment-phobe? He's knowledgeable AND a mind-reader. I ended up buying my Blade 100L eventually and I will definitely do all my future tennis-related purchases here.
