Island Chateau has been on Staten Island for as long as I can remember. Parking is tight. The location is beautiful, nicely decorated. Service was good as it relates to clearing plates, refilling water etc. Bar service was ok, lines at the bar at times, drinks were light at best. The food was a mixed bag. Fried calamari was very good, the chicken parm was not great, the flank steak wasn't great. Desserts were great, ice cream was fantastic. Cannolis were freshly filled. The biggest doubt I had coming into this place was that I had never heard of it, nor seen it in person. But as my fiancee and I looked for a venue for our engagement party, we were pointed in this direction, and I gotta keep it real with y'all, dear reader - the hospitality was endless. We had an engagement brunch, and while I didn't get to eat a lot (being the focal point of the event makes it tough to munch on pasta and pancakes), the little I did have was delicious, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The venue itself is beautiful, and they only book one event at a time, with one room, so no need to try to drown out the wedding down the hall from you. The key differentiator to this was the service. God help me I can't remember anyone's name, but they were spectacular, constantly refilling our mimosas, making sure that we had full cups for every toast, all while not being overbearing and interfering with the event. I cannot recommend them enough on service alone. I don't plan on having an engagement party again (heheh) but I would definitely have another occasion here! read more

I knew the minute I visited the venue that this was the place I wanted my wedding. The interior and the rooms and bridal suite are beautiful and great for photos. I felt like a princess to be honest. My step daughter also told me to go with this venue after we visited and now wants to have her Sweet 16 there. Highlight of the disgusting meal was watching a server use her bare hands to grab multiple rolls ( I assume for herself?) while guests were waiting to also get a roll. Tongs were available by the way. Salad was dished out over the guests , why not serve individual plates of salad instead of shoveling it onto plates from a large plattwr over guests? Salad was drenched in vinegar and served with nuts. Steak was dry and overcooked. Everything with the exception of the chicken fingers was room temperature or cold. My daughter and now son in law had their weeding planned right before the corona epidemic and unfortunately had to reschedule. Tammy and Terry worked extremely hard trying to make their day come to a reality. They were most patient because we had rescheduled numerous times. Quite honestly I think another venue would have just told us that there was nothing else they could do. However both Tammy and TerrI were extremely diligent on making their dream become a reality. When the day finally did come we arrive at the hall and once again both Tammy and TerrI and their entire staff did everything and then some to continue to make their day the most special day of their lives. The food was excellent, the room was immaculate and the staff along with both Tammy and Terry were literally on point making sure all went perfectly. They had their Happily Ever After due to the Excllence of The Island Chateau. One more little note my husband and I had our wedding at The Island Chateau 27 years ago and 27 years ago they were exactly the same, when we arrived at the hall my girls had left their bouquets in the limo, seeing how upset I was Tammy and TerrI and the staff had flowers left over from the previous party and quickly made four beautiful bouquets for my girls to walk into the hall. Planning a wedding during covid is not easy! Tammy and Terri really worked with us and made sure we were not stressed through the whole planning process. They worked with us on the price and most of all, we had a blast at the wedding. We got so many compliments on how beautiful the venue is! It really is a hidden gem. I couldn't pay the last 500 towards the deposit for a party scheduled NEXT year and they released the date and kept my 1500 bucks even after I explained I was in a terrible car accident and couldn't give the 500 due to my deductible. I even asked if I can pick another date when I am able to give the 500 and was told no. Another person I know had their precinct holiday party scheduled in 2021 and had to cancel bc everyone had Covid and they wouldn't let them choose another date or give their money back. Another person I know gave the 2000 deposit for her daughter's sweet 16. Her daughter changed her mind but the mom loved the venue and wanted to have her sons communion there the same year as the sweet 16 and they wouldn't let the poor woman change her date from the sweet 16 to the communion date (only months apart and the same year) and wouldn't give her money back. Had I known all of this, I never would have booked there. Also one of the owners smelled very strong like alcohol during a tour as if she was drinking the whole day... never again and I'd never suggest this place to anyone. read more

Our friends booked Island Chateau for their twin boys bnai mitzvah. From the moment we walked in, we were taken great care of. The cocktail hour had a bunch of delicious appetizers for both adults and kids. The bartender was making great drinks. The waitstaff was wonderful; they were doing their work seamlessly and capably. The buffet food was delicious-two types of chicken, flank steak, fish, potatoes, pasta, and then wonderful dessert-chocolate fountain, churros, ice cream. What a find!! We were looking for a venue that could accommodate 70 people for my daughter's baby shower. We looked up venues in Staten Island and Island Chateau seemed to have great ratings. So, we went there to check it out. We had a great experience from the minute we walked in. The venue is owned by two sisters who were both equally wonderful to work with. We decided on having a brunch and I'm so happy we did. The food was delicious, the room was so nice, and the service was great. A perfect way to celebrate our grandson-to-be. This place is amazing. I had my wedding here. Everything went perfectly. From the day we started planning, the owners Tammy & Terri were patient and had the best suggestions. The food was delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere was beautiful and romantic. The Bridal suite is a beautiful space to unwind, take photos and eat undisturbed. The balcony overlooking the main hall was a very nice touch. The staircases and up-lighting made for beautiful photographs. The waiters, bartender and Matre-D were attentive and made us feel like royalty. The coffee bar to go at the end was a nice special touch. I cannot say enough nice things about this Venue. Perfect! We had our wedding here almost 5 months ago and everything went smoothly and perfect. The rooms have been renovated and are gorgeous! The wait staff was helpful, kind and on top of everything. Louie was fabulous and Terri and Tami were the best! Terri and Tami took the stress out of planning and did everything to make sure the day went as we planned. My husband is a pescatarian and I'm vegan and we had several choices to eat and drink that accommodates us and our guests. I have no regrets booking the Island Chateau. Tammy was so patient with me. I am not your typical bride. After my wedding, Tammy named me "last minute Lin". haha! She did so well with me. Always stood by me making sure all my ducks were in order. I was a little lost planning my wedding but she made life so easy for me. We had planned our daughter's Sweet 16 back in 2019. Unfortunately, due to covid, the party was postponed and postponed yet again due to covid. The date was set for this past January and because Mother Nature interfered (blizzard), we postponed it again. The Island Chateau was "more than" accommodating! They were in contact with us throughout. We finally had our party on March 12 and to say that everything was perfect is an understatement. Tammy and Terry are exceptional owners. Their staff greeted us with warmth and were so helpful throughout the night, and they knew what we wanted before we asked! The food was beyond delicious. Planning a party is stressful under any circumstance, but because they have been around for over 40 years and have staff that has stood by them throughout, our event was truly spectacular. Even when we thought we wanted more food choices, Tammy guided us away because the choices we made were enough; no one was looking to spend more of our money. Their recommendations for decor and using their house DJ/Photography was lifesaving. It gave us less to think about and stress over. I just had my wedding at the Island Chateau, June 21st 2014. First off, Tammy, Kathy and the whole crew are a dream to work with. Always attentive, responsive and above all especially caring. Everything down to our bartenders, and our Maître d - Louie( SO AWESOME). You and your guests will feel like royalty. All my guests said their servers were amazing and sweet. The food is also top notch - no wedding factory here. Every single one of my guests (no joke )raved about the food. I am also still eating my leftovers. Its that good. You get so many choices. Cocktail hour is huge. And I can honestly say this isn't one of the places you have to fill up on cocktail hour cause you won't like dinner. You will like everything you put in your mouth here. Our cake was included in our package and came from Bueno Bakery - also delicious. It was great to not have to stress the cake after the tasting since they will work directly with the vendor so its a no brainer. We also used Platinum Entertainment for our DJ and lights and since they are familiar with the venue they were a breeze to set up. Our photographer was Emerald Studios (we got Rich and everyone should have Rich in my opinion) who was also great but I will write separate reviews for the vendors. Back to Island Chateau. You get a huge bridal suite with your own cocktail hour in it so if you have to take your pictures during that time don't worry you won't go hungry. I would suggest taking your pics before your wedding (as I did) so you can really enjoy the whole wedding, but that's just me. The lobby is perfect for photos and they even have a cute bridge with a lovely background for some cute shots. The reception room is huge and has the largest dance floor on SI which was very important to me as my friends and family LOVE to dance. Also the uplighting in the place is included with the venue and is so beautiful! The cocktail hour and reception are in the same room. I know some people might be thrown by that but it was honestly lovely AND my guests say they actually really liked it that way! No hubbub and moving around other than where you want to be. You can put your stuff down and be comfortable the whole night. The process of clearing out cocktail house is seamless so you don't even notice or have to stress it yourself. You really just get to enjoy yourself to the fullest. The only sad thing, is now my wedding is over! And I would love to do it all over again at The Island Chateau!!! read more

Stepping Out Of The Box Just recently my 50th Birthday celebration took place at the Island Chateau. I cannot say enough about this impeccable venue, the knowledgeable courteous staff, mouth-watering food and elite service. When looking for a venue, I wanted the complete package: perfect venue plus great food. It was a challenge with all of the other places I went to on the Island. Most had one of those qualities but not the other, some neither. I didn't want the same old, same old. From the moment I walked in I instantly knew the Island Chateau was the home for my half-century celebration. Also note, this venue offers you the uniqueness of only one party at a time and that party would be yours. During my first sit down to discuss party possibilities, I instantly bonded with Tammy and her in-house planner Colleen. There was no pressure. They always went beyond accommodating ANY request you made. Their ease made your visions a reality. As most know, planning a party can be and most likely will be a stressful situation. There is always the unforeseen party planning stress at all. As a matter a fact they were more therapeutic then anything. My party had three different separate components. A casino set-up for two hours, a singer for one hour and three hours of dancing. The seamless transition from casino, to dinner and on to dancing was amazing. You would never know or did my guests ever see the room transitions- it was magical. My one request regarding food was no, no, no to pigs in a blanket. This is not the type of hors d'oeruvre I wanted served although, it is the #1 requested hors d'oeruvre for most Staten Island events. Let's talk succulent baby lamp chops, seared tuna, pulled pork crostini, brie and raspberry pastry puffs- salivating yet? Well you should be. I was also thrilled to find out I had Certified Organic choices with the meats and vegetables. I could go on, but why, when you can just can give them a call, make an appointment and review the full list of non -Costco hors d'oeuvres yourself. For three hours hors d'oeuvres were passed out via white glove service. Followed by three stations set up with various dinner choices, have I mentioned the seafood and vegetable risotto? The melt in your mouth prime rib and filet's quality were top of the line. The pasta was as if it was just made fresh in the kitchen. The lobster ravioli was to die for. I am not talking cheese ravioli stuffed with traces of lobster, the chunks of fresh lobster were a very prominent part of this ravioli. Quality at the Island Chateau is not a question. They pride themselves on it. Please let me note that all 101 people that attended my birthday could not find one negative thing to say and it can be a critical crowd. When all your guests continue to call you for months after the party and name EVERY food item served - you know it left an impression. You can only hope your guests will say "I wish we could do it all over again" and I was over the top when they did. This was the party I always wanted and water doesn't even flow as smooth as that night did. The feedback from friends and family was not the normal after party kudos of 'All was good". These attendees were not dishing out simple critique but spent hours going on and on about the venues clean line smart décor, the incredible mouth watering food, the attentive staff, the amazing maître-d service, the friendly bartenders, the impeccable cleanliness of the venue, the fresh linens, the parking, the delicious champagne, the seamless transition from one component of the party to next and on. My review is really for Staten Islanders/Party Planners who choose to look beyond Staten Island for more then just the typical SI party. The good news is, you do not have to leave, as a matter a fact - tell your New Jersey, Pennsylvania and other NYC Borough friends to head here. Now don't get me wrong, if I wanted the template or traditional party/wedding they can accommodate and again do it very, very well - but know you can take time to step out of the box, make your party unique to your style and tastes. Attended a wedding here and it was nice. Not a huge catering hall but its nice for a small romantic wedding or party for less than a 100 people, its only one party to be held which is nice. Small parking lot. The bathroom is pretty small which I didn't like because you can just bump right into other women or just open the door and hit them with the door trying to come in. The food was not bad, the bar was okay but didn't carry much liquor or liquors that you knew the name of & NO SHOTS ALLOWED the sign is big and clear.
