Came here for a reception and they did a good job. It seems like they throw multiple events at once so parking can become an issue, but the staff inside was good at directing us to the right room. Our event had a cocktail hour with a whole buffet full of delicious foods from charcuterie items. sushi. chicken wings, shrimp cocktails, salmon, calmari, and oysters. Plus the open bar had a very attentive bartender. I had way too much food here. Then we went to another room for dinner where there was a big dance floor. The staff was great at bringing out each course. The prime rib was great but the baked potato was really hard. Then the dessert spread had cakes, an ice cream sundae station, and a chocolate fountain. I know a lot of the food was due to our host's picking some great items, but the food was almost universally delicious and there was plenty of it in a timely manner. It was a great place to celebrate a couple's wedding reception in style.

Food and service is very good here with friendly . It started off with salad with a great dressing. Then with a vodka pasta dish both which were really good. And the main was a choice of salmon , flank steak and chicken parm. I had the flank steak which was very good for a tough cut of meat. Came with beans and a potato croquette . Wife had the salmon with same sides. We thought they both were very good. Ice cream station and cake topped it off. Was a good time here as most islanders book here . Been some time between visits here but still remains a good place for parties.

My daughters first birthday party was at the Staaten this weekend. They have recently renovated it and it's stunning inside. We had a breakfast brunch. Everything was delicious. Everyone was up for 2nds. Their sangrias and mimosas and blood Mary's were so good too. It was a great party. The owner was very helpful and kind when booking her party. He even came in to check on us. Always making sure we are happy and everything is running smoothly. Our servers and Maître d' were very helpful through the whole party. They did a great job. I highly recommend them. My guest were happy too. Two of my friends that attend the party plan on booking them for their next event. You won't be disappointed. Hope this helps

Front desk staff was super friendly and informative. The museum itself isn't very big and I Probably took about 30 minutes to view it. Id say the admission although suggested was definitely worth it. For me though Id say the architecture of the building itself both inside and out was more interesting to me than the exhibits themselves. Who knew Staten Island had such a good little museum? I look forward to coming here and again and will check their listings of events often.

So now this building has become a museum. Environmental fiber arts exhibit was pretty appropriate. This artist have woven plastics into amazing sculptures. Fascinating. Sad that recycling efforts are so low. So much non biodegradable mater. We could do better if we get outraged enough to contact officials to make a change. You will learn how they succeeded in the past with women activists that were able to ultimately clean up Fresh Kills area! Beautiful nature now. The staff recommended a stroll. I saw the statue of the founder of this building. Homage to such a kind man. The garden outside was a nice. I really recommend coming here. If I had my ukelele. I wasn't satisfied with the condition of the Chinese Scholar Garden during my walk-through, and the team was so flexible and helped us change the cocktail hour location to the Tuscan Garden at the last second, which I really appreciate. I couldn't believe how beautiful the tented pavilion looked on the night of my event. My team was really responsive to any concerns that I had and I am extra grateful for Jessica! I think there is room for improvement when it comes to signage for guests and parking (a lot of people were confused) but other than that, my guests raved abut everything. Also I would suggest that they upgrade to some prettier fans for the tented pavilion. But those are my only cons!

Our ceremony was held in the Chinese Scholar Garden and the reception at the tented pavilion a short walk away. Our theme was Midsummer Night's Dream meets 1920's Lawn Party. We had around 130 guests. We chose the Extended Cocktail Wedding Celebration package with a sampling of butler styled hors d'oeuvres, fruit and cheese board, and Mediterranean and sushi stations. For dinner, we had buffet stations of pasta, salad, made to order Asian stir fry, and a carving station of three items. There was also a dessert station. The food was outstanding! They were able to cater to many different tastes and dietary restrictions. We were all very pleased with food. The environment fit our theme perfectly. The gardens and grounds where we took our photos and had our ceremony were clean, well groomed, verdant, and blooming. We set up a badminton net on the lawn next to the pavilion with cafe tables and chairs on the edge. We also set up a photo booth with backdrop on the lawn. Last and most importantly was the service and organization of our event. Everything went off without a hitch. There was plenty of time for our vendors to set up--DJ, live band, sound guy, photographer, MC, flowers/designer, and videographer. There was ample parking, a convenient place for our shuttle bus to pick up and drop off guests, and it was easy to get to and from the ferry on public transportation. We had a personal attendant who made sure we had enough food and drink. The staff worked well with our vendors and MC to make it the most special of times. We would definitely recommend having your wedding or special event at Snug Harbor.
