This is a loooooong overdue review! I have nothing to say, but amazing things about Dr. Nic!! I've been seeing him for almost 14 years! I'm a busy esthetician and he's immensely helped me so much with my back, posture, wrists, and feet as my job is very physically demanding. He also has this amazing laser machine that is very rare to have as it's very expensive (I checked) and it really works with getting rid of pain. I was referred to Dr. Nick by a fellow triathlete and runner for a back problem I developed. I had been in constant back pain for over a month and was unable to run very far. I saw my family doctor and an acupuncture and cupping specialist but without any improvement. After my first visit seeing Dr. Nick, I felt immediate relief in my back and was able to start running again. I have seen him only 4 times and I continue to improve with each visit. He took the time to listen to me, review an MRI I had done, and clearly explain what is going on in my back and how treatment will help it. I find his medical knowledge to be quite extensive and useful in determining what needs to be done to resolve my back issue. I never feel rushed by him or his staff. I find the charge for their service to be very reasonable. I live in Oceanside and have to drive almost one hour each way to his office, but it is totally worth the time with the improvements he has made to my back. read more

Since tomorrow's is my last treatment, I figured it's finally time to write a review. I've only been coming here since May even though I've been feeling back pain for a while. Honestly, I never really believed in chiropractic. My sister is in medical, so our family has been more into "real medication" VS alternative healing I suppose... mostly because none of us ever experienced the alternative healing really. Met Dr. Danny G. through the Mr who met him through their Business Networking club. Went to his "lecture" sometime ago before he moved to this location. First reaction was, okay, dude seemed to know what he's talking about, but definitely not going to let Doogie Howser "fix" me. Yes, I'm aware that's ageism. Fast forward to May of this year, I got hurt in kickboxing class or maybe it's yoga? Either way, something went bad and I couldn't sit or walk or anything for a couple weeks... I was in pain. The Mr. made an appointment with Dr. G despite my complaint. I'm not the type who can hide my feelings, so from the get go, he probably sensed my doubt. After my first treatment, I swore I wasn't coming back. I wasn't able to move for the next two days. I couldn't get out of bed without help. I was in so much pain, I thought instead of fixing me, he had officially broken me. The Mr. kept on pushing me to give it some time, and Dr. G did remind me constantly that I would probably feel pain first before I got better. Fine! I started coming in three times a week, and I must admit, despite my reluctant, I started feeling better. I'm not going to say that I'm completely fixed, since I'm obviously not. But in such a short period of time, I have definitely felt better. I can work out and I don't feel pain anymore.. well, I feel the good pain, not the "oh crap, I broke something" pain I previously felt. I have to admit that I'm still NOT a fan of being "cracked" and I keep on waiting for the day that he will finally break one of my bones or something... but that's just my personal issue. Even though Dr. G is my personal chiropractic, Dr. Nick is also awesome. He's very friendly and welcoming. I also find it amusing that they are the perfect Mac VS PC duos. Since I'm moving out of OC, I am going back to square one. I doubt I will find a new chiropractor who will put up with my $%^*, fear and doubt. read more

Dr. Kambourakis is by far one of the most in-touch doctors I have ever met. He listens, adapts and takes care of the client on such a personal level. His staff is friendly and ready to help, always. Tamara, the massage therapist is also a gem. Just like Dr. Kambourakis, she too is in-touch and can sense what needs to be worked on. I have always been scared of going to a chiropractic office, but the reason for my fear is a bit unknown. Once I got my new insurance from work (love Anthem, btw), I decided to get over my fears and book an appointment. I was introduced to Danny Garcia through several people, and I am sure glad I found out about him and this office. Tucked away in cozy, beachy Balboa Island, this small, comfortable office isn't packed full of people, and neither is the street. There's always parking available, which is one of the most important things to me, especially if I am heading closer to the shore. Danny and Nick, along with the other staff that helps them out, are very welcoming. Danny took the time to explain everything to me, and to calm my nerves about the whole thing. You can really tell how passionate he is about his job and his clients through the excitement and joy in his voice and body language. After just a few minutes of realignment, I was done and ready to go. I didn't feel a great amount of easiness the same day, but the next day I felt like I slept on a cloud. My back has been in pain for a long time now (say, 10 years?) and after a few visits to the back doctor, I am feeling very good about the condition of my spine and neck. Thanks Danny! read more

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Nik! It is obvious he loves what he does and truly cares about his patients feeling better. I came to Dr. Nik after months of neck, shoulder, and back pain. I had tried massages, rest, etc. with no luck. He carefully listened to me as I explained how I thought I injured myself and where I had issues. I was in such pain I was afraid of someone working on me. He eased into adjusting me, being careful to monitor my discomfort as he treated the problem areas. After a brief treatment I immediately noticed increased range of motion. He gave me a couple exercises to keep up my range of motion between visits and improve my posture. After a handful of visits I am virtually pain free and looking forward to getting back to the active lifestyle I love mainly because of this talented professional. read more

First off, this review is loonnnnnnng overdue. Where do I start? Everyone here is absolutely amazing! I first arrived here because of Kelly (receptionist). I first met Kelly at my work and I began to tell her how I was searching for a honest chiropractor who can relieve me of my foot and back pain from my physically demanding job. I noticed how she seemed very concerned and interested in hearing my concerns (she's such a SWEETHEART). She referred me to where she worked and I then scheduled an appointment. To be honest, I was very skeptical because of all the scary things you hear from friends and family about chiropractors, but Dr. Nic exceeded my expectations just as Kelly had promised. When I met Dr. Nic about 2-3 years ago, I saw first-hand how honest and genuine he was. He wasn't in it for the money, but he was passionate about his job and cared very genuinely about his clients. I instantly felt relieved of my pain and the more treatments I received, I felt so much better. For my foot/back pain, he also recommended a laser treatment. The laser was a MIRACLE!! I no longer have foot or back pain! I will never EVER go to another chiropractor! After a few months of becoming a regular, I was involved in a 5+ car accident on the 405 and my body was in so much pain, especially my back. I listened to Dr. Nic's advice and added on massages with Kelly (massage therapist) to get my body back to how it was. I can't say enough how much I LOVE KELLY! I'm a licensed esthetician and I've worked side by side many massage therapists and Kelly is the absolute best! She's so talented and carries such a sweet soul. I would recommend Island Chiropractic to anyone! I have experienced consistent mild to moderate back pain stemming from a car accident that I was in 8 years ago. The pain started getting worse and I had been to see my doctor 3 times already in an attempt to find a solution that I could live with. This last visit to my doctors office, she wrote me a prescription for muscle relaxers and pain relievers and basically told me that was my only option. This solution to my problem was not one I was willing to accept. I had heard about Dr. Nik through family and friends so I decided I would give a chiropractic visit a try. Not only was Dr. Nik professional, friendly and knowledgeable, he explained what he was doing and the effects it would have on my body. He gave me tips on how to adjust little things in my life (like the way I carry my purse) to improve my comfort and lower my pain level. I felt incredibly comfortable and safe. I have always heard mixed opinions on chiropractic work but a couple days after my appointment, I have never felt so good. The pain was close to gone and that was without any pain medication! The guys (and front desk girls) are ALWAYS extremely welcoming upon entering the office. Dr. Garcia is my personal chiropractor but Dr. Nick always welcomes and treats me as if I were his own patient as well. The office space is small, but filled perfectly with all you need for a great spinal adjustment. Dr. Garcia takes his time and really gets to the root of the problem and makes sure I feel good before I leave there. The attention put into each adjustment really shows me that he cares. If you're having back or neck pain, headaches, hip/knee pain, even stomach pain or other problems, a great chiropractic adjustment could be just what you need to get back on track. Dr. Nick and his team are amazing! I've been going to Dr. Nick since....2008-2009?? I think? Everytime and anytime I am hurt with anything he fixes it. He is literally the best. You will not regret going to see him, he will fix you and make you better in no time. I'm a runner, and I just went in for my achilles tendon that was in a lot of pain. He checked me out, figured out what was going on, he even got me to stop running for a month or two (I'm pretty stubborn and hate not running). A month (and a little bit) later, after working on it, and giving me exercises to do, my achilles feels brand new. No more pain. He is truly the best! read more

Island Chiropractic is the very best. I have tried many (too many) different chiropractors in the Orange County area and this is by far the only office i trust and will return to. It starts with Kelly the receptionist. She is so wonderful- smart, caring, kind and efficient. You never wait and you don't have to go through some crazy introduction process. You literally walk in, check in and go to the back to get treated. Each treatment is different too. Dr. Nik will assess your situation and make sure you are adjusted from the neck down. Most places just treat one area and you walk out all crooked. Nik makes sure everything is aligned. No sales pitch here either. He isn't trying to sell you on treatments or supplements or packages. Just wholesome old school treatment here. If you take the time to ask Nik his credentials you will be pleased to learn that he is educated in medicine, nutrition, and much more. He knows both Eastern and Western treatments, can order blood work and translate it to help you beyond chiropractic adjustments. He does sell supplements but you would never know unless you asked. This place is amazing. They offer massage therapy and are quickly expanding to provide a broader spectrum of wellness for patience. Only negative side is that they are only open three days a week. My mom has been going to Dr. Nick for well over 10 years (when he was in LB). She now drives to Balboa Island because he is that good. She has post polio syndrome and her spine is severely curved. Dr. Nick is the only Dr. that can correct her spine (as well as it can be aligned anyway) and leaves her feeling much better than when she went in. I recently started going to Dr. Nick (again) after having severe headaches. I get a massage from Kelly who is one of the massage therapists there (she is absolutely amazing by the way) once a week and an adjustment once a week. With both of those services, my headaches have minimized tremendously. Also, I have TMJ and Dr. Nick seems to be one of the few chiropractors that specialize in working with TMJ patients. He actually works on my jaw. Pretty amazing. As all of the others have stated, it's a very nice small office. All the staff regardless of who is at the front desk they are always very kind and welcoming. It is not uncommon to see Dr. Nick and Dr. Garcia at the front desk as well.
