Seems like a lot of mixed feelings about this establishment. We are tourists vacationing in Kailua-Kona for a week. Tried this place on a whim as it was on our main thorough way and had pretty decent reviews. I am here to set it right by giving my two cents. The shop is in a dead shopping center. The shop itself was observed to be clean and well put. It was on a weekend morning and therefore we observed few patrons ordering their preference of cup of Joe and occasionally some will order with food. Whatever you order, do not get the chocolate chip cookies. It tasted like some sort of detergent and hardly any chocolate chips. Stopped by for a sandwich to bring for the plane ride home. Superman was fantastic!!!! Beef with cheese and onions with au jus. It was small though. Why did I come here? Based on Yelp reviews I came just to try something new. I was shocked. How did they score these reviews??? I expected to see fresh baked goods at the counter and be welcomed by a great smell of coffee. I wasn't. The menu is limited, the place feels very empty. I ordered breakfast burrito and two coffees to go. The coffee was one of the worse I've had it was watered down and very little flavor. SO WEAK! If I gave it to the homeless he would probably throw it at me. The burrito was good but I had better. I returned to my Hotel (Pacific 19) and apologized to my coffee guy for cheating on him. Waimea coffee at Kona Pacific 19 has a stand at the main entrance. Their burritos are so yummy and coffee is made the correct way with flavor. read more

First of all, the two ladies working yesterday were absolutely amazing and so friendly. They were such nice girls and delivered A+ customer service that my bf and I left with a smile. We got 2 breakfast burritos, one spam and the other bacon, and they were DELICIOUS. I got extra egg and the egg was fluffy and cheesy. The spam was heaven. The potatoes were thick and there was yummy grilled onion in it as well. I think this was my favorite breakfast burrito I've had in a while... and I'm from LA! I ordered the TBA (turkey, bacon, avocado) in a tortilla as well as the hot pastrami on rye. First thing I would like to mention is like many other restaurants, their online menu prices are incorrect. Both these sandwiches were shown as $12 but inside the restaurant, was marked up to $14.50 each. That's a 20% increase. Now, if they need to raise their prices, so be it but please have an accurate menu! The sandwiches were tasty but they were pitifully small. When I spend over $30 for two sandwiches, I would expect them to be a bit larger. I ended up eating both sandwiches at one sitting and was not fully satiated. The other thing I found odd was that although the price was the same, only one sandwich came with chips. Not sure why that would be? They were tasty sandwiches but if you have a decent appetite, be prepared to spend over $30 to get your fill. Overall, I give it 3.5 stars. read more

I was very happy to see Island Corner Cafe had opened in our neighborhood. Finally somewhere nearby that I can order a breakfast burrito! The place is cute and clean. They have a nice selection of breakfast items, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and pastries. I am not much of a coffee drinker so instead typically order a tea or matcha latte. Everything has been quick, fresh, and tastes good. The staff is friendly and works hard. This will definitely be a regular spot for us to order from! read more

Coffee was delicious and strong. Not too sweet which was perfect for me. My partner had a breakfast burrito and I had their breakfast croissant sandwich. We are both vegetarian and there were plenty of options for us on the menu. The burrito and sandwich were both excellent. The star of the show for me was the sweet potato salad. Oh my god. My husband and I are always trying to find quick but good places to grab food as we try to squeeze in 'mini-dates' during the week. I read the reviews about the breakfast burrito here so was nervous when we got sandwiches. Pleasantly surprised - I had the Zeus, no meat and Jim had the tuna - both on focaccia. The taste was simple, nothing fancy, but all looked fresh and the focaccia was good! I believe they bake it there. My husband got their lilikoi juice and enjoyed it. It was good ambience, a little sparse inside, but we are outside at one of their tables. Again, very pleasantly surprised. Cashier was yogurt and very nice as well. Would go again.
