First off, their macadamia ice cream is really really good! Creamy, thick, sooo tasty! We also ordered: Epic Feisty Tacos - 5/5 - comes with three tacos and spicy sauce. The tacos are super tasty and perfectly balanced spicy, savory, tangy flavors. The lemon herb chik'n is also so good, you can't even tell it's vegan. The tortillas are a bit on the crumbly side, but still equally tasty as a taco bowl. Definitely would recommend this dish if you love spicy tacos! Epic journey nachos - 4/5 - the toppings on the nachos taste similar to the feisty tacos. The chips are more like baked tortillas with a crispy exterior and softer center. Journey Classic Crepe and Blueberry macnut crepe - 3/5 - The crepe itself was a bit thick, I'd describe it as more of a pancake than a crepe as crepes should be super thin. Still pretty good though all together, fruity and sweet. Latte with oat milk - 4/5 - a bit on the bitter side but not a bad latte! Asian salad - 4/5 - good salad, vegan meat is well seasoned and everything pairs well together. It wasn't very Asian tasting though, more like a Mexican-Asian fusion salad. read more

I was originally a bit skeptical about vegan chicken tacos, but these were surprisingly delicious. That's saying a lot, coming from a mostly paleo eater! I particularly enjoyed their strawberry shake, which was so refreshing. I noticed that they also have a coffee one, which means I'll need to stop in again next time I'm in Kona. in spite of walking in during a busier time of day, service was quick both while putting in the order and waiting for our food to come out of the kitchen. For my personal taste, it was a little sweeter than I would prefer (especially the granola), since I usually like my bowls more on the "healthy" side, but that's just preference, not a complaint. I really really wanted to like this place! The menu says to let them know of any food allergies and I said I had a soy allergy and we determined the chick'n had soy and the cashier suggested tofu instead. I was like tofu is soy? So I just got my $29 salad with no protein. I would've let that slide maybe the person is new but then when dropping off the salad the person put down the bowl and proceeds to pull a large hair off the salad!!! Absolutely wild to do that in front of me. Then to top it off the lettuce was brown and wilted :( Like I said if it was any one of those things maybe let slide but the combination of being suggested tofu when noting a soy allergy, having a large hair picked off my salad in front of me, the lettuce being bad, and all of that being $29 was just such a let down. read more

I appreciate that this place has a lot of vegan and gluten free options. The staff was very nice and super friendly and the place is small but has some outdoor seating and is nicely decorated. Also some plants add to the decor. That said I was rather underwhelmed with my dish. I had intended to order the poke nachos and ended up with the bowl. Similar ingredients though. I just wasn't a fan of the teriyaki watermelon poke. If I get the chance to go back I'd try something different. The rest of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Found a plant-based restaurant that is really worth the visit! Set in a quiet alleyway, Journey was bustling the whole evening. Staff were working so hard and they all seemed to really take pride in their cafe, guaranteeing a great experience for each visitor. Our meals all came with 3 refills at their tea bar - hibiscus tea, guava lemonade and a lavender taro milk tea. We had fun trying them all and throughly enjoyed the different flavors. Wow!! Parking here is a little complicated but once you find parking and make it in, it's worth it! The food here is so good! It's located in an old shopping center and it's really cute and welcoming on the outside! When you go inside it's very homey and charming. They have booth seating, tables and outside seating. The employees are all very nice and knowledgeable. The food is delicious and blew my expectations away. They also sell Coco Love which is my favorite coconut water on the island. Reading through the 1 star reviews and realizing, that's something I should have considered looking at before ordering from here. We were looking for some decent vegetarian food in Kona and came across this place online. We decided to try it because the overall ratings seemed to be great. Service: Nothing major to say here. We ordered takeout and sat down to wait; took about 25 minutes, which was fine. What did stand out, though, was that after we ordered, a few other people came in and the cashier offered them samples of froyo and other things. Not a huge deal, but a little odd that it wasn't offered to us too. Felt... inconsistent? The place itself is relatively small, but I guess that's how it is in Kona. It's very lively though and would be a cute place to sit in and eat at. Food: SO expensive and not worth it. Taco salad: chips were soggy as hell and the "chicken" was just..not chicken'ing. Journey is worth the journey ............ Its located at the far end of a small pedestrian boutique shopping behind Holiday Inn. The owner describe their food as "local, farm-to-table, whole-food and plant-based", all I know is that it was unique and good. You can check out my pics to get a sense of their home-style interior and approach. Being a flexitarian, the staff was very helpful in explaining our options. Being mid-day, we shared a Blue Moon Magic. The "touch of magic" in its description was good but also very hard to explain. This is a lightly flavored but with the oat milk, it was very creamy and smooth. The blue hue from the peaberry tea was unique (see my pic), but was also mildly flavored. Sorry, that's the best I can describe it, but I'd have it again. We also shared the Herb Falafel Salad, see pic. Now we're talking ........... check out the freshness of those greens! Best vegan food I've ever had. Can confidently say this after going two days in a row because I just couldn't think about not going back for my last day on the island. I've been vegan and gluten free a long time and wow this place just truly is so good. First of all my boyfriend and I got the poke and poke nachos. The nachos were so refreshing and delicious on a hot day, the poke was the best vegan poke I've ever had, I've been vegan so long I've never had non vegan poke but I'd imagine it would be like this. Today my boyfriend and I got crepes, the savory one was the best breakfast food ever!!! The strawberry shortcake was sooo good if you like a sweet breakfast.
