So good ! Stumbled upon this place unexpected and it was so delicious. Everything is vegan and the taste is amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place also gave me practical magic vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely check this place out. Also they gave me a sample of their vegan Ube ice cream and by gas the best I have had !

Been eating a lot of meat and starch ever since I landed on the big island so I decided to make the healthy choice of eating at Journeys. Had the Asian salad. It was tasty and refreshing. The parking in the back was pricy so you want to just park on the street.

I've visited this place twice, and both times left with a really positive impression. The first time, they surprised us with free non-dairy ice cream, and it was honestly so good. Even though we ended up eating elsewhere that day, I couldn't stop thinking about their acai bowl which I wanted to grab that day. So today, when I was really in the mood for something light, fresh, and fruity, we came back for breakfast, and I'm so glad we did! I really appreciated that they include a free drink with your order and give you three choices. I picked the lavender tea, and it was amazing: not too sweet, very delicate, and super refreshing. The acai bowl was fresh and tasty. For my personal taste, it was a little sweeter than I would prefer (especially the granola), since I usually like my bowls more on the "healthy" side, but that's just preference, not a complaint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. Yes, the menu isn't huge and it is a bit on the expensive side, but the space is beautiful. Lots of plants, very calm, very cozy. You can sit outside, relax, and even when there are people around, it still feels peaceful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The girl working there was also super sweet and welcoming. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting this place if you want something light, fresh, and a calm, relaxing vibe!

We wanted Açaí bowls and Journey Cafe showed up so we went there. There is only one Acai Bowl option on their menu and it was sugary sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cafe itself is decorated very bohemian- super cute decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do have other food options but we went there specifically for the açaí bowl. I may go back and try something else another time but def not what I was hoping for this time.

FOOD: I got the tacos and they were so very good!! So much flavor! I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but I love to try any food and really enjoyed this! My sister and cousin loved the meals they got as well. SERVICE: The girl at the counter who helped us was so friendly and nice! She answered any questions we had. AMBIANCE: So relaxing and cozy! Love the small touches from the lighting above the counter to the shelf filled with games. Great place to come hang out and have a good meal! I will definitely come back here if I make a trip back to Kona.

It's definitely pricey but we loved everything we tried and came here multiple times during our trip . The portion sizes are generous and you get refillable ice tea with every entree. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was from and warm and ambience is super cozy and beautiful boho vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would highly recommend even if you aren't vegan or vegetarian as it's super delicious.

Yummy food and wonderful service but pricey. Main items are over 20 usd per dish. But so worth it. And their soft serve with dragon fruit is tart and ono. Vanilla with macadamia was also happy in the tummy. We would definitely come again for brunch

I appreciate that this place has a lot of vegan and gluten free options. The staff was very nice and super friendly and the place is small but has some outdoor seating and is nicely decorated. Also some plants add to the decor. That said I was rather underwhelmed with my dish. I had intended to order the poke nachos and ended up with the bowl. Similar ingredients though. I just wasn't a fan of the teriyaki watermelon poke. If I get the chance to go back I'd try something different. The rest of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I'd suggest giving it a try if you're in the area.

The watermelon tofu poke bowl is super delicious!!! Loved the flavors blending well. We also got a sample of their strawberry dragonfruit vegan ice cream and vanilla vegan ice cream!! They also give you a drink free with an entree. The lavender almond milk tea is yum!! The Fiesty tacos have vegan meat and chickpeas in them and tasted just okay.

The food here at Journey's Café is undeniably delicious, healthy, tasty and they make the best chocolate chip cookies. The workers here named Lyric and Anjila are so very helpful. They are so Happy and make you feel right at home. You need to try the best delicious homemade ice cream non-dairy made with cashew milk. Anjila is so amazing. This is one of our new favorite spots..

Found a plant-based restaurant that is really worth the visit! Set in a quiet alleyway, Journey was bustling the whole evening. Staff were working so hard and they all seemed to really take pride in their cafe, guaranteeing a great experience for each visitor. Our meals all came with 3 refills at their tea bar - hibiscus tea, guava lemonade and a lavender taro milk tea. We had fun trying them all and throughly enjoyed the different flavors. We had poke bowls, poke nachos and the feisty tacos. The poke bowl was the true hit of the evening - the watermelon was marinated and truly had the texture and flavor that is often found with ahi in a poke bowl. Give it a try!!

The shakes are very good, not too sweet. The service is awesome! Very kind and fast! The restaurant is full of plants inside and out, it feels very homey and comfy :)

There are so many yummy things on the menu that it was so hard to decide, but I decided on a crunch wrap and my husband ordered a burger. First off, I love how the restaurant is set up with almost food-truck atmosphere and outdoor seating. That's so perfect for such a wonderful area and beautiful weather. The two employees working, which I believe are the owners, were super nice and genuinely happy to help us. I ended up asking a few more questions while we waited for our food, and they were very helpful. Due to their input, I ended up also getting a cheesecake slice (yum) and dole whip (for the first time, and holy *!+$! it was sooo good I've been dreaming about it since!). Our food was available pretty quickly, and it looked amazing! My husband greatly enjoyed his burger, which is saying something since he's all about veggie burgers now (recent convert to vegetarian, so still extremely discerning). My crunch wrap was AMAZING! Everything about it was so good. The dipping sauce was fantastic, and I would have that for virtually every meal if I could. The crunch wrap was perfectly hot and full of all sorts of yummy! The tortilla was toasted well and wasn't just a boring white tortilla: I'm pretty sure it was a wheat tortilla with a great flavor. I wish I lived closer. I'd be here all the time. Until then, I'll wear my merch with pride and continue dreaming about dole whip and crunch wraps!

Jackfruit nachos - 4/5 - hefty bowl of jackfruit nachos with lots of toppings! The bbq jackfruit was very good, it's on the sweet side but that's how bbq sauce is. More vegan queso would have been nice too as it kind of got overwhelmed by the other flavors. Kona sunset drink - 4/5 - very pretty drink and not too sweet Cashew cheesecake - 3/5 - super dense dessert. Also not too sweet but had kind of a weird cashew flavor to it. Not sure what it is, but overall, not bad!

The menu isn't huge, but it offered several dishes that appealed to us. When our server came to take our order, we asked if we could order happy hour drinks since it was still happy hour. We were told that happy hour pricing is only available if you're seated at the bar. We had the option of staying at our table and paying regular price for drinks or moving to the bar to receive the happy hour pricing. We chose to move to the bar. While we gave up some of the privacy of the table, the view was just as beautiful. My wife and I shared the Caesar salad and the Spaghetti Bolognese with burrata, and both were excellent. The Caesar salad was fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly, the sauce tasted fresh with quality tomatoes, and the burrata was a great addition. We also enjoyed happy hour mojitos, which were refreshing and very well made. In fact, we enjoyed the restaurant enough that we returned the following day. Since it wasn't happy hour and we weren't ordering drinks, we chose to sit at a table and had another great meal. Overall, Kai's Eats + Drinks offers great food, excellent cocktails, and beautiful bay views. The only surprise was that happy hour drink pricing is limited to bar seating, but once we knew that, it wasn't a big issue. We'd definitely recommend it and would happily dine here again.

We ordered a plate, which had garlic bread, salmon/tomato (I forgot the name), the pork wrapped in leaves, and the squid luau? Honestly, I only really liked the garlic bread and the salmon/tomato the best LOL the garlic bread was crispy, nice and fragrant. The tomato with salmon was quite refreshing! Although the pork was kinda dry and the squid luau was very... interesting. I think the texture of the squid luau throws me off, which it was kinda too mushy for my taste. My friend, who had tried traditional Hawaiian food, did mention that this meal overall was just okay, she had better ones at other places. So this may not be my cup of tea, but she enjoys it haha. The vibe here is pretty great nevertheless! Located right by the ocean too.
