Came here with the hubby. Got 2 mix plate 2 item combo: 1) pupu chicken and teriyaki beef 2) chicken katsu & lemon pepper chicken. Delicious & very flavorful, their chicken is also juicy! It's a must try, they also have Samoan (Poly) plates too!

Highly recommend over mo bettahs or any similar restaurant. The pupu chicken is one of one. This place is one of my favorite sports in Saint George. Very delicious. The staff is very welcoming and they always have fantastic music on.

Had the opportunity to dine here. I noticed as soon as I walked in there was no aroma of any grilling which I thought was very odd, especially for a polynesian restaurant. I ordered the 3 meat plate which were the teri beef, grilled chicken, & kalua pork. The portions were fine, but I was disappointed in the lack of flavors of each of the meats. The chicken and beef had little or no flavors to them. The kalua pork was bland at best. Even the mac salad tasted only like mayo. I expected a better experience, but maybe it was an off day. read more

Pretty good Hawaiian food in the St. George Area. The pupu chicken was tasty and the Mac salad and rice were done right...island style. The wait was a bit long but sometimes you just can't hurry goodness. read more

Found this little jewel via a map search and when we read reviews, we had to give it a go. Delish! I had pulled pork and bbq chicken and my honey had fish. Everything was excellent. Staff gave us a taste of pu-pu chicken and now I see why it's their biggest seller. Really good food and owners with very big hearts. read more

The food was just okay--pu pu chicken, Kahlua pork, short ribs, white and brown rice, and macaroni salad. Their teriyaki sauce was light and sweet. The tables were clean but the bathrooms were not--hopefully the kitchen is okay. Nice artwork on the walls. Decent parking lot. Good deals. read more

We were excited to try this place based on good reviews, but as it turned out we were very underwhelmed. Although the food turned out to be decent, the service was slow, card swipe portal was out of order, cleanliness was poor, and coupons were not honored. In fact, they honored our coupons when we ordered but then came back to us later saying they wouldn't honor them so everyone had to go back to the cashier and pay again. And as we cleaned off our tables to leave the only garbage can was heaping to overflowing so they told us to find a place outside to dump our garbage. So this place didn't live up to our expectations. Maybe the employees were tired and just wanted to go home. That's the feeling we got. read more

The best thing about Island Grinds is the $5 special. You won't find that anywhere else for Hawaiian food. The Pupu Chicken is also a unique offering that is pretty good when you're in the mood. All in all, it's a good deal for what you pay. read more

This is by far to most authentic tasting Island Grill in all of southern Utah! Definitely tastes as if the Kalua Pork was slow cooked in the ground out back. 10/10 would definitely recommend. We'll be back soon read more

If you enjoy good quality Polynesian good this is your place. The food is always consistent , customer service is beyond exceptional, and the food is just as good as authentic Hawaiian food from Hawaii. They have a lunch special that is very affordable and tastes great! Kudos to this family run business! This is a nice stop Resturant in southern Utah! read more

Don't listen to the haters! If you want good authentic Polynesian food this is the place! Have come 20+ times and been more than content every time! I usually go with the teriyaki chicken regular plate, it's definitely worth the price and fills you up for the day plus leftovers! The service has always been amazing! Love the food and will continue to stop by! read more

I eat a lot of Hawaiian plate lunch as I'm in the islands many times a month (airline pilot.) Their Kalbee was the best I've ever had, no joke!! The teriyaki chicken was very good as well. All I have to say is they are absolutely AMAZING. We recently moved to Vegas and can't find anything that even comes close with how good Island Grinds is. You have to order the pupu chicken, it's sooo good. Every time we come to visit we have to stop by our favorite little restaurant! read more

This is my favorite spot to get a good plate lunch in town! You definitely get your money's worth! I always get the Matai (3 meat choice). I do 2 servings of garlic shrimp and 1 serving of pupu chicken with rice and mac salad. I'm getting hungry as I write this review lol! The restaurant is decorated with beautiful art from a Polynesian artist and they play all the local jams while you eat. The Poly plate on Fridays is the bomb dot com! If you haven't been there, you need to go! read more

This place is definitely a hole in the wall. Word needs to get out that this place serves authentic food. The plates are flavorful and freshly made. The 3 meats place I got was IG special, kalbi, and garlic shrimp. SO BOMB. The IG special is a definite try, their most popular dish. Get the garlic shrimp too! Have to try this place...and spread the word! The environment was a bit plain, but they've only been opened for about 2 months : ) read more

The worst eatery in Saint George. Nasty dirty place altogether! The food I received was really bad, the rice seemed to have been left out in the open air for a day or two, the Mac was seriously sour rotten and was not edible, and the pupu Chicken was mostly just crispy chicken skin, I don't know what they did with the meat. *** I will never go back. read more

Great tasting island food. The Pupu chicken is the best and the vibe you get when you walk in is really welcoming and laid back. I try and recommend this place whenever I get asked about Polynesian food and I've gotten no complaints yet. My personal favorite is the three item combo, Pupu chicken, garlic shrimp and katsu chicken. You can't go wrong. read more

This didn't compare to other Hawaiian food I have had. The food wasn't as good. I won't plan to go there again. The service was okay. It took 10 minutes to get my food at 7:30 pm. I would hate to be there at rush hour. read more

Im not sure what these ppl out here in Utah are tasting when they eat here at this place smh. But its terrible... would not recommend.. service is great yes but as the food goes, YIKES.... if i where the owner i'd take that world famous sign down... rather eat at little ceaser next door. At least i Get my momey's worth. Mac salad water down no flavor except for all the pepper they put in it. There was more pepper than mayo. spam masubi wayyy too sweet. Garlic shrimp lets just put it like this it ended up in the trash.. smh, how you mess that up? My son loves bbq chicken so do i. He didn't finish it. Beef was a no go. Again no flavor and was dry. Surprised at how busy they where for an over priced no flavor dirty over rated spot. Dont like putting down my ppls but hopefully this review will help motivate them to improve there food quality and quantity. Love how the family was all involved but come on... lets leave the cooking to the professionals... TIP maybe the kids could focus on cleaning tables picking up trash and cleanning restrooms. read more

The "Flambé" wasn't just a little salty, this was clearly a salty mistake that was made in the kitchen, and they couldn't care less that it had happened. The crème brûlée was curdled and the staff had issues serving the wine. We ended up with no apologies, even after kindly and respectfully voicing our concerns. With so many better choices in St. George, I probably will not be coming back.

Once my drink order was taken my hubby took a seat and I was checking out all the tantalizing treats. It took ALL of my will power to not order a slice of the carrot cake which looked like it was baked in house along with the other goodies. (They don't even bother putting them in the warmer,) You can peek into the kitchen and see the big pile of gross cold dry crapes piles up. No, no, nope! Done. I've even started asking at the front counter if I can get a fresh made one and not one off the pile of premade dry cold flat gross crapes, and both times I've asked, they've told me no, they can't make me a fresh one, I have to get mine off of the cold dried out dead stack. So, there you have it. You've lost me as a regular customer, I'm not coming back--I'm done until you reply to this message, confirm that's no longer the horrible practice, and invite me back. Once that happens, I'll go back, see if you serve me a fresh off the griddle crapes, without asking, so I can remove this post. Bye!

I tended to agree that it was very light in the flavor, I would say almost an imperceptible hint of pesto. We were looking forward to a robust pesto dish. But it was still a good dish! We would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. Now for the piece de resistance... The Positano rigatoni. The sauce was rich and flavorful and delicious! Italian sausage was a treat... This is definitely our favorite and for us, the most flavorful. My son's girlfriend has ordered it previously, and we all agreed we understood the recommendation! 5/5. This place has the best Hawaiian/ Polynesian food Utah can offer. A family atmosphere where you can relax, "talk stories", and enjoy the awesome food, company, & beautiful artwork of Selu Alofipo. What other restaurant do you know opens their menu up to the public on certain days and gives food away at donation only, offers a huge support system to our troubled youth and the less fortunate?
