    3. Hawaiian BBQ Mixed Plate
    Robert S.

Came here for lunch after driving by this place multiple times. I've been looking for a good Hawaiian place because the others I've tried just weren't very good or had small portions. This place really packs the food enough for two meals! That is what I was looking for! Got the bbq mix combo with white rice and macaroni salad. The plate was delicious! Especially with the katsu sauce they have. They also had a free fountain drink with purchase as well! The food took a bit to come out which is great because you can hear the grill in the kitchen. Definitely will be back to try other combos!

Absolutely worth the price of admission!!! Juicy chicken and beef, along with the macaroni salad, just... CHEF'S KISS!! Cannot recommend this place enough, everything is good, my boys especially love the Spam Musubi (I mean, who doesn't?!). Everything we've ever ordered is delicious and have not had one bad thing ever. I know, I know, I'm gushing and hyping this place but I think it deserves to be a definite "Must Try" on your list. Happy eating, -Fj

I'm a sucker for value and Island Hawaiian BBQ might be the definition of value. The photo of the family pack and malasadas really spoke to me, so I ordered the same. Leftovers for days! Reminds me of the Hawaiian drive in spots that serve up affordable, heaping portions. Came to pick up my order and they offered me a drink which I thought was super considerate. I didn't have hands so didn't take them up on the offer, but that left a strong first impression. I also really appreciated the low carb options, definitely a solid spot after a gym session or for some protein. Small Family Pack - six heaping scoops of rice, mac salad, a side of fries, and then tons of meat. The chicken katsu was solid, breading was on the softer side but still tasty. Slightly on the dryer side but comes with lots of katsu sauce. Was tasty without sauce, as long as a bev was close by. BBQ beef was juicy and delicious with the sweet marinade. BBQ chicken was the leaner option to balance out options, providing high protein. Chicken could be more tender but wasn't too rough and plenty of teriyaki sauce provided. Malasada - under a dollar per malasada, these weren't out of this world, but still tasty (after all, it's just fried dough). Dough was fluffy and soft on the inside with a great crispy outside. Good amount of sugar coating, but I think they bounced around during transport so some inconsistency.

This place is very similar to L&L Hawaiian BBQ, both in menu and cooking style. For those from Hawaii, you'll love the katsu with the Hawaii style katsu sauce which is sweeter than the Japanese version, and my favorite of the two. They are the only ones that do Hawaii style garlic chicken so I'll be back here to get my fix. The portion sizes are very generous and the cost is incredibly reasonable. Will definitely be back to try out some other dishes.

As a Hawaii native, I can confidently say that Island Hawaiian Barbecue serves up the most authentic Hawaiian food I've found on the mainland. Every bite transports me right back to the islands - these flavors are the real deal, not some watered-down mainland interpretation of Hawaiian cuisine. The portion sizes are absolutely generous. You definitely get your money's worth here, and then some. What really sets this place apart is their outstanding customer service. Tonight we ordered takeout again, It's clear that the owners prioritize taking care of their customers - it's that genuine aloha spirit that makes all the difference. Every family meal from here ordered on UberEats feels like home, which is exactly what you'd expect from authentic Hawaiian hospitality. And let's talk about the prices - they're phenomenal! You're getting restaurant-quality, authentic Hawaiian food at prices that beat most fast food chains. The value here is unbeatable. Pictured is the small family meal, there's a lot of food... we ordered the same thing tonight. While I haven't had the chance to dine in at the actual location yet (I've been ordering delivery/takeout), the food quality speaks for itself. I do want to visit to get a feel for the ambiance (I'll update when i do!) If you're craving authentic Hawaiian barbecue with huge portions, friendly service, and incredible prices, Island Hawaiian Barbecue is your spot. Mahalo to the owners for bringing a taste of the islands to our community!

Plastics containers are used for dine-in - not a good practice IMO.

Eco-conscience is not a priority for this new restaurant. They use plastic containers for both dine in and take out. Our party of 3 ordered various entrees and apparently the kitchen did not mark them. I observed 4 people at the front counter opening and closing each container numerous times. It appeared the staff were still trying to figure things out after 1 month. They eventually set them on a tray with napkins and plastic utensils. This was slightly redundant since there was a counter with sauces, utensils, and napkins so most guests (like us) thought we had to help ourselves. The teriyaki sauce was very watery. The food was ok. I liked the red bean sesame balls. Nice that they offered free fountain drinks. The plastic containers and wasted unused utensils did not sit well with us. We will not return.

We tried this new location Friday night. Really great staff and very friendly. Surprised that I left my change for a tip. Probably not a big tip kind of neighborhood but wanted to show my aloha. On that though they were not so hip to some pigeon slang for praise just nice young Asian folks. I ordered mochiko chicken (my usual lit ness test of a Hawaiian place is Saimin but I changed up). My wife ordered bbq beef. Both the mini variety which was plenty with a tad of leftovers for us. The chicken really tender juicy with a nice breading finish. Her beef was good however a bit dry but that's what happens to thin sliced beef cooked this way. The Mac salad was good but not "the best". Kim chee side was good however small. This is a great setup that should do well at very affordable prices! They included free Hawaiian juices which was a surprise! I usually buy these cans to drink at the beach after free diving to rinse my mouth of salt water but goes good with this food. I wouldn't call this the best ever but a very clean nice well run option in this area! We will be back this summer in the way to the Muk ferry for sure to try other dishes!

Yayyyy! So happy to discover a close by Hawaiian place for lunch near my work place. :) Came here with my coworker for lunch and we left stuffed and food coma out. Located in a strip mall area, this place is pretty easy to find. Parking is aplenty and service was pretty quick! Things to note: Food Options: A nice variety of food and combos! Stamp card: If you order the plates options, you can collect stamps to get that next free meal :) Food: Tried the Portuguese sausage musabi and the garlic chicken. Musabi was very tasty with a light gravy like texture sauce. ---As for the garlic chicken, love how crunchy the chicken pieces were! Sauce came separate but wasn't as garlicky as I thought it would be. Mac salad = yum yum and honestly, couldn't finish half of my portion since it was filling and big. ---Had a chance to sample the kahlua pork bowl and overall, it was tasty with a slightly saltier and charred flavor. Can't wait to come back again and try out more new dishes!

We ordered Togo. To me, the Kalbi was too salty. The portion was good. Lots of meats (mixed grills).

Large low carb plate with scrambled eggs

Ordered Large size low carb plate. It consisted of... - 3 large pan fried eggs - 3 large chicken thighs --very tender and nicely grilled. - beef --little too salty and dry for my taste - 2 short rib --tender and juicy and NOT burnt! On a bed of cabbage Nice, bright inviting atmosphere. I am glad good new restaurants are opening up in Everett!

I came in here around 4:30 on a Saturday, it was like I witnessed the calm before the storm. I ordered with no problem before people started coming in and out, ordering lots of food. As a first timer, that gave me good vibes and showed how many people liked it. I got to try an assortment of different things (pictured) and really enjoyed them. I would definitely recommend their garlic chicken (fried.) The woman at the counter who took my order was very sweet, I was grateful her kindness and patience as my friend and I figured out our order. When I left, the staff thanked me for coming in. I really appreciated how friendly they were. I can't wait for them to open up a location in Lynnwood!

If you're looking for a no frills Hawaiian BBQ place with big portions and reasonable prices then come here. It reminded me a lot of the random Hawaiian Plate lunches you can get on Hawaii with a pretty big menu. While not amazing, it definitely is good and fulfills that craving. They are also currently giving away free drinks too. Great addition to the neighborhood.

Another new restaurant in Everett AND it's Hawaiian food? Heck yes! We couldn't decide what to eat and while searching on DoorDash for something different than the usual, I came across Island Hawaiian BBQ and realized I had never seen it there before. As soon as I realized how close it was, my husband and I instant decided to try that for dinner. The menu has lots of options and it was hard to decide so we ended up getting three meals to go. There were a couple people in front of us but the wait wasn't too long. We were even offered a couple of free drinks since they had just opened, so nice!! After we got our food and got home, we dug in. Everything was delicious! The Bento (combo 4) included BBQ beef, BBQ chicken, chicken katsu, fried fish, and spam. The box probably weighed 3lbs minimum, it was a ton of food! It came with a few different yummy sauces on the side that I forgot to take a photo of. The Garlic Chicken was perfectly fried and super tender, the sauce came on the side was AMAZING. The Loco Moco was standard but in a good way. We would absolutely get any of what we ordered again. Even my husband who doesn't usually like mac salad loved theirs! The food was so on point taste and price wise. Great service and super clean inside as well. Living less than 5 minutes away will be dangerous for us. Can't wait to try more!

The man who helped us made a good suggestion for the type of fish to use in a soup, and didn't grumble when, near closing, he had to start up the equipment to cut it for us. The parking lot can be busy but I just choose to park farther away from the door. Also, try to go during an off hour--the veggie section (and the store in general) can get crowded. I suggest stopping by the deli section at the front of the store to see what treats are available. Last time I tried a tasty steamed cake wrapped in banana leaf. Another tip is to jump on specials as soon as you see them. I'm still kicking myself for not picking up an entire pack of oxtails for 1.99 a pound. I went back a few days later and they were gone. I still bought oxtails, for up to $2.00 less a pound than other stores. Lastly, double check the expiration dates on prepackaged foods. Every once and a while you'll find one that is past it's prime.

I had laulau elsewhere recently, so I was interested in trying their version for comparison. Last laulau ordered here was in 2018! We took 99N all the way to Everett Mall Way to avoid the I-5 commute traffic (4/23/26). We were immediately seated and provided menus & ice water. Pretty much the same interior, no overhead music, and straightforward table service. There were three others dining onsite, but also later overheard phone orders taken followed with brisk takeout pickups. They also have the capacity for catering with product, prices, and serving pan sizes posted on the wall. The Homie ordered the loco moco with overeasy eggs, plus their standard cheeseburger. He was pretty happy with the outcome. Consistent to his previous experience, but also took note of the quality and reasonable cost for the cheeseburger. I opted for the laulau plate which came with the requisite two scoops steamed rice and one scoop mac (Hawaiian style macaroni salad) with a sizeable laulau. I unwrapped the outer ti leaves and cut into the taro leaves (steamed like spinach) to reveal succulent pork and tender butterfish inside. This was great with a little added shoyu. Spot on delicious! The ice water also hit the spot. Perfectly chilled without any aftertaste from a pitcher. None of that tepid water in a stoppered top glass bottle or carafe. Refreshing! Overall satisfying meal at a reasonable price.

HH review In short…read moreGreat design in a very welcoming space. Food might be under-seasoned to some people, but it's very well executed...and you can always add salsa. Great bar program, too. In long Previously, my biggest complaint with coming here was the total lack of parking every time I have tried. They obviously have no trouble getting the crowds in here. Today we scored some free time in the mid-afternoon, and their HH starts at 3:00 every day. We did go off the HH menu for 3 items, which ended up being worth it. You can't help but notice the buildout here. Pretty lights, interesting patterns or murals on almost every wall, lots of cool detail to the finishes everywhere you look. They even have yon selfie wall next to the washrooms (they took down a much bigger one). The bar has a couple flatscreens showing the game, but I'd probably not come here specifically to pay attention to a ballgame. At regular price, we got an awesome plate of chunky guac which I'd put against guac anywhere around here, at least that I've tried. At $15, it was almost a buck a bite, but, man, it was tasty. The bean dip had a great creamy consistency and mixed well with all the other condiments. We also got a muddled fruit cocktail from the regular menu, which was also excellent. The ceviche isn't a huge portion, and not overloaded with shrimp, but, hey, it's HH, and it's super fresh and tasty. The street tacos had awesome grilled flavor on the chicken, and the salsa served with them was fresh and excellent. We got 2 other salsas with our chips; the table salsa is nice but mild on the heat. The habanero salsa was a little too runny to get much on a plain chip, but it had great flavor and kick. Everything tasted really fresh and added plenty of seasoning to whatever was on the table. This is definitely a good place to mash up your salsas and dips and see what you concoct. The street corn was delicious. Such a perfect HH food--easy for the kitchen, but tons of flavor, and they nail the presentation. Corn tasted really sweet and crunchy even though you know they get it frozen. I'd get it again any time. For 3 apps, 2 dips, and 2 cocktails, we were under $90 before tip. Not too bad, especially since we went off the HH menu for stuff. This place is definitely in the rotation.
