French toast sticks and chips with salsa
    Michelle G.

My friend and I got a Groupon to do the bottomless mimosas at the Island Party Hut, which each comes with an order of French toast sticks. The staff were very lovely, they let us sub one of the French toast sticks for a thing of chips and salsa. Which was a good deal since the French toast sticks were only four pieces (calling them a basket is generous lol). But the snacks were a fun accompaniment to the main event of unlimited mimosas for a fixed time. Overall a good deal, and I enjoyed being by the riverwalk and the various games they had available (including cornhole and connect four). If you're looking to drink by the riverwalk without breaking the bank, I definitely recommend this. Thank you to the staff and bartenders for being so fun and nice.

This is an unexpected gem on the Riverwalk in Chicago, it's not super busy tonight, but it is lively, and the prices are affordable. The wine is good. The food is good and Porscha's and Orlando's service was exceptional. The kitchen closes at 8 PM, but as long as people are buying drinks, the bar will stay open much to my delight! I'm sad that the businesses on the Riverwalk both south and north side close November 1 --and don't reopen until 1 May the following year. I will definitely be back next spring!

Island Party Hut is my go-to spot for enjoying the outdoors with a fantastic view of the river. Located just a stone's throw from my apartment, this lively tiki bar offers a perfect blend of casual eats, music, and outdoor games. Whether it's table tennis, Jenga, or cornhole, there's always something fun to do here. Pretty much every other weekend, my friends and I hang out here for a couple of drinks and some games. The atmosphere is always vibrant, and the Mai Tai has become my regular order--it's absolutely good! If you're looking for a relaxed, fun spot by the river, I highly recommend Island Party Hut.

This place was a complete disaster from start to finish. I was served cold food, asked for a replacement, and they brought out the same cold plate like I wouldn't notice. As you can see in my photos it went from day to night outside! Not once did anyone apologize. The staff was straight-up rude, dismissive, and wouldn't even look me in the face while I was trying to explain the issue. The manager told me he'd refund my $19 and would "be right back." I waited almost 45 minutes....he never returned! I had to go find him myself, just for him to casually say the refund would take 1-2 business days. That would've been fine if he had actually communicated that up front, but he didn't. The entire experience was unprofessional and frustrating. No apology. No accountability. Just a bunch of people acting like paying customers are a burden. I work too hard to waste my money in a place like this. Do yourself a favor and skip Island Party Hut. The stuff is absolutely DISGUSTING!.

The bottomless mimosa here is fun! Pretty views too. The service was good and it's fun to have bottomless mimosas for a day out.

Island Party Hut in Chicago is known for its fun, tropical themed ambiance and is a popular spot for casual dining and social gatherings. I visited this restaurant in June of 2024 on a bright and sunny day. It was a big crowd of people, but the customer service was still good and quick. I had tiki drinks and salsa and chips that we're tasty. There were live music and entertainment. This restaurant has a waterfront location that offerings a beautiful view of the city. It is a great place to hang out with friends and family if you enjoy hangout outdoors with bugs and the sun beaming down on you. I would definitely hang out here again.

This is my go-to place to enjoy a couple of drinks and enjoy playing corn hole or jenga with my folks on a Summer evening. On my recent visit, my friend and I ordered Mango Tango and Mai Tai. The drinks were very refreshing and a good fitting for warm summer evening. They are usually packed during weekends but have an ample space so getting a table is not that difficult. I have not tried their food so cannot comment on it but they serve light snacks typically. They have a wide range of non-alcoholic drinks as well, I have not tried yet but will surely try next time. Give this place a try to enjoy Summer drinks and have a good time!

Finally! There's a large outdoor venue with games. Bags (or cornhole if you prefer), HUGE connect four, and then this game where you swing a string at a hook? It's pretty big outside, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were more things to do and I just didn't get around to it. Besides from the activities, Island Party Hut have a decently sized speciality drink menu with other beer and wine options. Not the largest draft selection, but it did the trick. The cool thing is, you get the drinks in a hut! Talk about a fitting business name. For food, my group got chips and salsa (which was my favorite thing- salsa seemed fresh!), margarita and pepperoni pizza (not too shabby), and the nachos (classic messy goodness). The food wasn't highlight of the experience with all the games and drinks to choose from. Good for snacking though! Island Party Hut is a great space for bringing large groups to have a silly good time on the River. I'm excited to come back with a good group of friends and try some of the creative drinks!

Island party hut is our favorite casual hangout place to swing by during summers. There is literally no cap on the seating as they have plenty of it. The service is typically fast, regardless of it being just cocktails or food. Their mai tai is my favorite. They have a wide range of beers on tap too. I love how you can see the fireworks from here while sipping away your cocktails. They also have bags for us to play. Such a fun place and definitely one of my favorites.

We had a work outing here and it was a cute spot for an event like that! I love anything on the Riverwalk because it's one of my favorite places in Chicago. It's a little further down, so it's not as much traffic as if you were to go to other Riverwalk places like Tiny Tapp. They have games, like bags, jumbo jenga, connect 4, etc. They allowed us to cater food and bring it in and do a wristband deal for an open bar. I am so glad that all of the tables have umbrellas because it started pouring when we were there and the umbrellas were able to keep us all dry! Would definitely recommend!

    Chicago Skyline

Traveling from out of town and wanting to see the skyline from a distance this is a great option. Definitely book the boat with Captain Mack and (Q as the admiral's bartender). Admirals lounge is worth it! You can go anywhere on the boat and come back to air conditioning at any time. Only thing is when we asked about margaritas the machine was not ready, wish that was ready especially buying the on board drink packag! which is worth it! again Q and Captain Mac are the best, very friendly, customer service etc!

The quickly made adjustments for us, but this was an issue in ensuring we got our credit. I would recommend getting a reservation in their smaller internal bar for a more intimate experience and more commonly crafted drinks. We had about a 15 minute wait for a table but it gave us time to peruse the menu in the car. They offer many classic tiki cocktails, a page full of seasonal drinks, a page of "Designated Driver" mocktails (nice to have an option for something other than just a Shirley Temple!), Polynesian appetizers and entrees, and then Lola's Pizza. For drinks, I got the seasonal Gingerbread Painkiller and my husband got a Green Flash mocktail. (Pro tip on the seasonal drinks: check the regular cocktail menu to see how many skull and crossbones are listed under the regular version of your drink, if applicable, to see if it's a super strong one!) Mine was creamy and spicy but quite powerful. Props to our waitress, Makayla, who checked if anyone at the table was epileptic, because normally the "flash" part of my husband's drink is a strobing LED ice cube; I actually am photosensitive, so it came in the drink in non-strobe mode and just glowed an alien green. She said this was the first time it had actually paid off to ask, but I'm glad she did! The food was tasty: I ordered rumaki, an old-school appetizer of bacon-wrapped water chestnuts that you don't see very often these days, and he got loaded fries. We also got a small Lola's Pizza, which was very good, with a crisp but also chewy crust. The atmosphere here is pure tiki, with a fountain, swag lamps, bamboo, and Hawaiian-influenced Christmas music playing for the season. Lots of big groups here; everyone seemed to be having as good a time as we were! What a laid-back gem in Arlington Heights! We'll be back. Mahalo!
