05/23/2026: This visit was MUCH better than the last. I ordered ahead on the Toast app and my order was ready within the allocated time frame. As usual, I had the curry chicken. It was tender and flavorful, exactly how it should be. Service was fast and friendly.

I have been wanting to try this spot out for a long time. I was in the area and said let me stop. The inside was nice with dining in two separate areas not including dining outside. I ordered on a large tablet kiosk. The price was pretty high for the food. I chose jerk chicken, coco bread and a beef patty. My order came out before the alotted time of 15 minutes (out in about 5 minutes). I couldnt wait to jump into to tasting my food. I immediately ate the beef patty which by far was the best of my meal. It was flaky and tasty. I then ate the coco bread which was soft and satisfying. When I got home I indulged in the main meal and sadly was disappointed. The rice was dry, the cabbage was plain/tasteless and the jerk was not good. I have had a hard time getting authentic cooked carribean/jamaican food. Its so commercialized and missing steps and seasoning. It may satisfy someone else but this is not what I will rush across town to get and the price was high for a meal that I am not going to eat. Good part was the beef patty was the highlight making it 3 stars.

I come here often after work, I love the atmosphere. The restaurant is always clean. The bartenders (Michelle, Saundra, Mellisa, and Shanika), are always courteous, pleasant and awesome & amazing bar tenders. I always enjoy the chicken soup, oxtails and curry goat.

My cousin and I stopped in after a sound bath wellness session a few doors down at R&R Healing to grab a drink and a bite to eat. It has been years since I have been here. We decided to sit at the bar and enjoy the ambiance. The space is really nice and the bartender Michelle was great! We both ordered the bone-in brown stewed chicken entree. I opted for extra cabbage instead of the rice and peas with a side of macaroni and cheese. My cousin got the entree as it comes but added a side of macaroni and cheese. For our drinks we got the Hibiscus Margaritas. They were tasty but for $15 it could have been a little stronger. The food came out hot and was prepared to our liking. Overall this is a nice spot but they are on the pricey side. We ordered a blue moon as our 2nd drink and the final bill came to $124 for just us two so imagine if you have a group of people. Nonetheless, I would like to return to check out their happy hour.

This Jamaican gem was truly one of a kind! I happened to be in the area and always love trying to find the best Caribbean spots on the east coast and this one definitely has put itself amongst the best! I got their brown stew chicken, and it was hands-down one of the most flavorful, tender dishes I've had in a long time. Perfectly seasoned, rich in flavor, and simply fall off the bone chicken. It also came with rice and peas, cabbage and plantains. (Which was all equally delicious as well) I paired it with their rum punch and it was perfectly balanced, both refreshing and not too sweet; The kind of drink that makes you want to order a second round. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, checking in me all throughout the night . The restaurant was undergoing some construction, but it appeared to be in the final stages of expanding both its indoor and outdoor seating. Either way, I can't wait to come back when the updates are done as this will be my new favorite spot whenever I'm in traveling through Maryland!

Ate here for the first time and the experience and food were consistently amazing. I had the oxtails with traditional sides and it felt like Mommy from the hills made it. The restaurant was clean and very stylish. Our server Kellz was helpful in making sure that we had a positive dining experience being and was attentive. Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic flavors and vibes stop by.

We stopped by Island Spice Grille and Lounge around 3 pm on a Friday for a late lunch while staying nearby. sad we missed lunch specials which end at 2, we happily got happy hour drinks which were reasonably priced and they had local beer on tap. for the food, my bf has the Jerk Chicken which was served with rice peas, cabbage and he really enjoyed it. he rated it 4/5 only 5 stars if it was prepared fresh (tasted like it has been rewarmed to order) i ordered the Salmon Bites appetizer which was definitely prepared fresh for me. tasty and a little sweet but delicious, good appetizer portion to share. I also had a side of mac and cheese, can't go wrong. our server, the wonderful female bartender was very attentive

The food was soooo delicious. They definitely seemed understaffed but our server was doing the best she could. 10/10 recommend the oxtail!

After years of driving by this local establishment, my wife suggested giving it a try for a late Friday night family dinner. We love Jamaican food having sampled it during our many visits to Jamaica. The restaurant is conveniently located near the Bel Air exit off interstate 95. We were able to get immediate seating in the main room. The place was jumping with live reggae music. The friendly server, Bella, took our order of Jerk Chicken, Rasta Pasta with Chicken, and Ox Tail. The Ox Tail was definitely our favorite dish. The meat was tender and well seasoned. My wife took the leftover sauce home to eat with rice. The jerk chicken was ok, the meat was a little dry. The chicken appear grilled then covered with a brown jerk sauce. I personally prefer the dry rub version. The Rasta Pasta was creamy with a nice hint of tangy jerk flavor. My overall rating: Food: 4 out of 5. Jerk chicken was little dry. Service: 5 out of 5. Outstanding server, Bella. Ambience: 5 out of 5. Loved the live reggae music. Tip: Be aware that there is an automatic 18% gratuity for parties of 1-9 people.

I never planned on going here because most Caribbean food sauce in America is too salty. Well this place was empty. There was no one at the counter to take orders. I have consistently had bad luck with local Caribbean spots so for a lunch deal under 13 dollars; I will see first if it looks edible, smells fresh, and tastes fit to eat before I tip in the future. As soon as I opened the container (very heavy) the sauce looked too silky and dark to be a stew. It looks like motor oil. The temperature was hot. There was no taste at all to the sauce. The rice or veggies gave an old smell. I believe it was the rice because it was lumpy when you get through past the black sauce. There were some lettuce cut strips that were translucent. The chicken was tender and did not taste old/reheated a few times. I am so disappointed. I wish I would have read the reviews. I should have went to Wawa for a sandwich, they never disappoint.

Taste of the oxtails and sauce was very flavorful and had a small kick. The sauce went will with the rice too. Coming from an Asian background and someone who has eaten oxtail in different styles I approve this dish. I just wish oxtail portions were a bit more for the price being charged. Fair warning this dish was a bit pricey ($41 after tax), and many things in the restaurant are on the higher end. If you've never tried oxtail or are looking for a unique dish I highly recommend trying this place. Also as a non-Maryland resident this place was definitely a bit of a culture shock for me, so just a heads up for those who are not used to being at these kind of areas to be aware, maybe come with a friend. Serving a wide range of traditional Jamaican cuisine and catering mainly to the courthouse lunch pack, the shop is run by a really friendly Jamaican lady that will walk you through the menu and show you the wares. I asked for some spicy noise to pound back the cold Bmore winds. She recommended the goat curry platter ($8.50) which came on a bed of red beans and rice with a side of steamed cabbage and a few slices of fried plantain. The goat curry was delicious. Tender hunks of goat meat served on the bone were well flavored but not spicy at all. The sauce was great and well-textured but sadly, the red beans and rice were disappointingly flavorless. It left me trying to ration my bites with sauce and meat to flavor all the rice. The fried plantains on the other hand were the best I've ever had. Slightly gummy from caramelization on the outside, tender and smooth inside, they beat any weak bananas I ate on Spanish III field trips or even in Costa Rica. I definately will give this place another go, the jerk chicken looked ridiculous. Give this place a shot, just make sure your beans and rice get sauced up good and try 'em plaintains.
