Surprised my wife with a date night here since she's always wanted to try one of those rotary sushi spots, it was awesome! Parking was easy (big lot), and when we walked in, the conveyor bar wasn't too busy and the food was already making its way around. We usually order a roll right away when we go out for sushi, but here you can sit down and start grabbing plates right off the belt, which was super fun. They don't have a liquor license, but they do offer beers. Each plate comes with 3 pieces, so it's easy to try a bunch of different rolls without overdoing it. We even asked the sushi chef what was coming next and they were super friendly. If it were a little busier, I think the belt would stay even more full, but everything we had was fresh, tasty, and great quality. Overall, a really fun experience, over all I think we spent roughly $70 for two people, all the sushi, two miso soups, and two beers (1 large beer) which is on point what we usually spend when we go out for sushi. We thought we would try this because we have been to Rotary sushi places in other states that were fantastic. The reviews looks like they were OK, I had called three different times to ask if they had beer and wine they told me, yes. When we arrived, I went to order a wine, that's when I was told they only had plum wine, which I don't care for. So I decided that I would just have iced tea, I will tell you that the service was not great. The food was not impressive at all and looked nothing like the pictures you see here that they have posted themselves. I can't say much for the ambience, it was so so. Got there late, it was 8:30 pm and they close at 9 but they sat me down and made fresh sushi for me and it was great quality and fresh.

Watching the sushi roll by is very therapeutic. It's nice you just pay for what you eat since AYCE can feel like a trap when you don't finish everything. Everyone was nice here and I'll definitely be going back. I wish I lived closer because I was craving this the other day. read more

I usually over indulge when I go to an all-you-can-eat sushi place. But because this is a "by the plate" restaurant I was able to get lots of variety and not push my stomach to the brink. I really enjoyed the variety offered as well as the quality and freshness of the rolls. My waitress was very pleasant and didn't rush me through my meal. read more

First time dining at Rotary Sushi. I was very much impressed with the freshness of the ingredients and the spot on flavors of the sushi. We ordered the vegetable tempura and a round of delicious miso soup to start us off. All very well prepared, but the star of the show was the never ending conveyor belt of fantastic sushi options. I would not expect to have a nice sushi in Boise! But I guess I was wrong. Since it is the during the pandemic they sushi rotary thing does not work, but you can still somehow do single order from the menu. Usually when I have sushi, Nigiri is a way for me to see whether the restaurant knows what they are doing. Nigiri would show you how fresh the fish is, chef cutting skill and also how they do the rice. The service was good and fish was good too. The price is quite reasonable to be honest. Totally would love to visit again. Parking is easy! It is clean as well. Ps, saw some reviews saying sushi here is expensive. Seafood is something that you get what you pay for. A lot of sushi restaurant used frozen fish, and they have to u less they are near the coast, and still it would cost you a lot. I know some restaurants in Utah air shipping their seafood, and you would be looking at 100 dollars per meal for quality of food. I tried the crazy roll, the roll had a horribly creamy texture, due to them using way too much avocado, there was a strong lemon flavor to the sushi that made it worse, and a 1 inch layer on top of imitation crab. To make it worse, the tuna and salmon was pretty much not there with how little they put on there All of the sushi on the rotary belt was noticeably lower quality and made worse than the sushi you order. Stick to your gimmick! Why even have a rotary belt anymore if you're gonna barely out food out on it, and put the worst stuff there. I ordered a tuna nigiri off the menu and it had a normal amount of tuna, I saw a tuna nigiri on the rotary belt, and it was paper thin, I get fish is expensive, but wow! Do you guys have no consideration for the customer, worse is that it's the same price as the one on the normal menu. If you're gonna give no fucks about the rotary part of your restaurant. Yk the restaurant called "rotary sushi" then get rid of the rotary gimmick. Service was on point, sushi chef Kevin is a cool guy to talk with. I got the Fire Paradise roll! Which do not get higher than a 3/5 hot level! I love super spicy stuff and man that was hot. We hit them late on a Monday. 8:30pm so sushi buffet closing down. We could still order off the menu. We were tired so we just grabbed stuff off the buffet (rotary). We really liked everything we tried and would definitely come back earlier. It's hard to know what you're getting, but they were helpful in letting us know. Staff was very friendly when we picked up our to-go sushi. I got the rainbow roll, Alaska roll and salmon roll. Pretty basic. I definitely ate all of it! The rice was really good; I've had awful rice with sushi in the past. It was good for quick takeout--it wasn't the best sushi I've ever had, but it wasn't bad either. This was our first time going to Rotary Sushi. My husband loves Sushi however I like tempura more. He ordered the Jalapeño Bomb and the waitress asked what level of heat did he want on a scale of 1-5. Well, usually he likes things really hot however he elected to order level 3. Thank goodness the man making the sushi for him suggested he start at level 1, since he had never even tried these rolls before. My husband went thru 4 Pepsi's getting down those hot little rolls. Given the rarely of such a place in Idaho, I gotta give it credit. The food was fresh and on par with other sushi locations in the valley. Pricing was also fair. Not given the full 5 due to a few issues: 1) The location feels a bit long in the tooth... everything is a bit worn and the staff does not seem motivated (but they are professional which goes a long way) 2) Menu is plain Jane. Some of this is typical with conveyor belt places - you need the staples. But nothing is peppered through making the options unique, nor is there much emphasis from the chef to push/engage the customers 3) cream cheese.... Too much cream cheese (a common Idaho problem. I read all the reviews and decided to try this place. It was my mom's 81st b-day and she loves sushi. Also took my 11 yr old for her first sushi experience, she is now a fan. Not enough good things to say about this place. The staff were awesome, especially our waitress. She was very sweet and had a great sense of humor. She kept our drinks and plates full. We didn't wait long for our food. And it was all very, very good. It takes two hours round trip to get there and we will definitely be regulars from now on. We came here wanting to drink hot sake and have food. Our server said they only have cold sake and not hot. If they have cold sake they can make it hot. Most sushi places microwaves the sake to make it hot. I asked if she can microwave our hot sake but she snapped and said it'll take over 5 mins. This place was recommended by a coworker so I thought I'd stop in one night after work. The restaurant had one couple at the bar and was quiet as a tomb otherwise. The 1st thing you notice as you enter is a big conveyor belt with small plates of sushi going round and round and the sushi chef in the center. I sat down and after about 7 mins I was approached by the server. She asked for my drink order and left. I reached for some prawns off of the belt and bit in. Ice cold! Not off to the best start...but I kept trying. I asked the server when she returned if the shrimp was supposed to be cold hoping to get fresh. She asked if I wanted it warmed up. Really!?! I requested fresh and was brought two shrimp tempura and two veggie tempura pieces instead of the three prawns I had originally grabbed off the belt. But at least it was fresh and hot! I ordered a roll from the sushi chef who barely said 2 words to me through the whole experience. I was a little disappointed that he wasn't very forthcoming with descriptions when I asked him about the items that were passing before me and off the menu. Later I found out why, he really doesn't know much about what he's serving you. When asked what kind of salmon was in a particular type of roll he went into the kitchen and brought out a piece and said this kind. He had no idea what kind of salmon was on that roll. Sadly I had to order off the menu because the one attempt I made to try sushi from that belt was sad. It was old and warm. I sat in there for an hour and never saw him put anything fresh up on that belt once. I've read others raving about the presentation but what I got was sushi on a plate with no presentation.
