Decided this would make a great first Yelp. Longtime user, first time Yelper. Ate here earlier…read moretoday. In town to see some family for Easter and spotted a taco truck on the side of the highway. Who can say no to a taco truck? Had two pork tacos, two beef tacos, two chicken tacos and a chicken quesadilla. Some seriously good (and cheap!) eats. Everything was fresh and the flavors were amazing. Definitely authentic, definitely worth the stop. Seriously, go here. Also, make sure to add the provided hot sauce!

I moved from NYC to San Francisco years ago and so have tried my fair share of Mexican food around California. This is better than almost all taquerias, and better than all taco trucks, I've tried. The food is fresh and very tasty. The staff is super nice. The setting is clean and pretty with tables in the shade and wildflowers around us (in September). We had: - veggie burrito and they had real veggies in there, not just peppers and onions, excellent burrito. - meat burrito, my cousin was very happy and she's a gourmet chef. - shredded beef quesadilla, more (well-seasoned tasty) meat than cheese, never seen that and now we're spoiled. Enjoy! P.S. The sauces on the table are the real thing: HOTTTT. So use with caution. I couldn't use them at all but I'm a sissy when it comes to Mexican hot pepper sauces..

I will be DREAMING of this watermelon margarita forever. Truly the best marg I've ever had. The…read moreserver and bartender were even nice enough to tell us fresh squeezed watermelon simple syrup is the secret! The salsa sampler was a generous size with the salsa verde being my favorite because of its freshness. The queso was on the thin side but flavorful and the street corn was delicious. The famous cheese crusted burrito was yummy, though didn't completely blow me out of the water like the marg did - could have maybe used some more seasoning overall. The portion however was gigantic and more than enough for 2 to split. The patio is such a fun and bright area with TVs and music. Definitely worth a trip!

Google maps sent me to a side corner where I saw cars parked on dirt so I parked there as well…read moresince it was late night and I couldn't really see but Minero actually has a normal parking lot right next to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is very cute and would be a perfect place for a date or a fancier mexican restaurant. Although, it felt like more like an American styled restaurant with Mexican food. The servers were extremely sweet but they did not have a good habit of checking our drinks which I would expect from a restaurant in Charleston. They were able to check on my food preferences and were able to adjust the food accordingly. I enjoyed the dips but at the same time usually the chips and dips are free at the Mexican restaurants in charleston. I did order the tres amigo which gave guacamole, salsa and queso which I would not expect for free except for the salsa. The main dish I had I did not enjoy but it was my fault for choosing a Mexican styled hamburger. The meat was a bit too chewy and although it had flavor I was unable to balance it out even with the fries they gave me. The fries were okay although a bit too salty for my taste. I had to wash it down with soda and luckily they were able to refill my drink. I also tried the chicken burrito bowl and I wasn't really a fan of how the chicken tasted. The best part of the meal was the banana pudding tres leches cake. It melted in my mouth and it was one of the better tres leches cakes I've had. I think next time I should definitely try the fajitas or tacos to give a more fair review but at the same time the menu should have everything the restaurant is proud of. Overall, it was a bit more expensive than a normal mexican restaurant but the value was mainly placed into the setting and vibes. If I had to choose a place just for Mexican food I would stick to the local Mexican restaurants, but I would have to say the tres leches is one of the better cakes I've had in the charleston area.
