I enjoyed the turkey pesto panini and my custom turkey sandwich for the plane ride home was large and fresh. Nothing better than a refreshing açaí bowl after a warm hike along the coast. I love this spot because it has a generous menu and plenty of seating inside. We tried the island vibes açaí bowl that had granola, bananas, strawberries, lilikoi butter, and graham cracker with macadamia crumble. I never had lilikoi butter but it was such a good addition. I write this to you from my local New York City coffee shop, the Samurai Champloo soundtrack spinning in my wired apple headphones, a zyn tucked high and tight, and a black coffee blessing my lips. What more could a guy ask for? I'm fresh back in this manic city off of a trip to Maui. What a special place. Polar opposite vibe of New York, but I love both. I NEED both. Island Vibes Cafe became our local cafe/coffee shop to get the day started, as it was a short walk from the Airbnb. These places are special. They become home and give you a little slice of routine while on vacation. I was essentially living off of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Sunrise smoothie ($11) and the Peanut Butter Banana Bagel ($11.50). It was straight fuel for me, no better way to get the day started. I had no cell service in here, and it brought me back to a simpler time when we all weren't so plugged into the outside world. We would all just enjoy each other's company. On mornings when I came alone, I would find myself just sitting with my thoughts. I've been extremely burnt out recently, but found this time alone I was coming up with some great ideas and my battery was actually being recharged. This time forced me to realize how important being "bored" is. It forces you to be creative and think about things that you put off when you are getting blasted with content, videos, and stimuli 24/7. Being bored is a completely lost art in today's world, and I'm grateful to Island Vibes for putting me in a straight jacket and making me bored. I need to be bored more often. Thank God I didn't realize they had wifi until my last day in here lol. On this last day as I walked up to order, the sweet cashier with the cool necklace said "the usual?" What an honor. Island Vibes Cafe is a local coffee and breakfast shop in the Kapalua area of Maui. They are right by the water and located in a small plaza and an even smaller parking lot. They have a variety of offerings: coffee, smoothies, açaí bowls, breakfast burritos, and sandwiches. They also have juices that are freshly pressed. We ordered the island vibes açaí bowl ($15) which was decent and slightly sweet due to the lilikoi butter. We ordered the Cali style burrito ($15) with bacon; we wished the portion size was bigger but we liked the bacon and the salsa was very good. We also got the iced latte ($6.75) that was standard. Awesome little cafe right in Nāpili right behind Napili bay. Literally 100 feet from the public entrance to the beach. I loved this cute shop!. They sell sandwiches, açaí bowls, coffee, snacks and the best guava cheesecake ever!!!! Also during my stay my goal was to find the best açaí bowl and they won hands down best one!!! The breakfast burrito is delicious and the coffee was perfect! Wish I could come here everyday on my way to the beach! Also they sell a bunch of cute stuff from household beachy decor to really cute locally made jewelry. What an INCREDIBLE find! We are staying walking distance from this cute cafe and are so pleased we found it! It's super clean, with a chic local vibe. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Their menu is simple yet has great variety for all. My two daughters quickly found items they wanted, as did I which is surprising because I am gluten free. The burrito was filling and vegetarian friendly. I really liked the macadamia nut crumble and the passionfruit drizzle on the acai bowl, as it's not a common thing to see in the acai bowls I order in LA. It wasn't too sweet too, which was good. This is a cute spot tucked away in a corner in Napili. They have some clothes, jewelry n more for sale in there. The customer service was okay, female worker wasn't as friendly with us as she was with the person in front of us. I came for an acai bowl and got the island vibes açaí and added cacao to it, this açaí bowl is not the sorbet type, but a blended açaí (I didn't know that). This is just personal preference, I don't like blended açaí because it melts quickly. The lilikoi butter is a fun idea, but I don't think it blended will with the bowl itself, it was bitter. My friend got the Cali style breakfast burrito and it was a small wrap and hardly "Cali" style at all. It was just giving breakfast burrito. The salsa was giving it came from a jar We also got an unsweetened matcha, if you have high expectations for matcha, I'd skip n go elsewhere. Overall food was good but very over priced for what you get. Go support the native Hawaiian locals instead of this spot, just being real. read more

I found this shaved ice spot when we were hanging in Kapalua. I was eager to try another spot and they did not disappoint! The shaved ice was HUGE but also the perfect texture of fluffy ice. I love their flavor options and had to go for watermelon and coconut. The addition of sweetened condensed milk on top was perfect. The base was tasty, though it could have used a bit more sweetness. The real star of the show however, were the strawberries that topped the bowl off. Fresh, sweet, and incredibly juicy! The strawberries truly were some of the best strawberries we've ever had! Words alone can't capture just how incredible they were. Yum, Island Vibes Cafe is definitely my kind of vibe. The Chia Love Açaí, which I also added lilikoi butter, is what my breakfast dreams are made of. I also didn't eat it right away, storing it in the freezer. So it was frozen by the time I wanted to eat it. However, not wanting to wait for it to thaw out. I ate this sweet treat slowly by layers. Each bite is how I'd describe pure happiness & the tastiest way to start the day. The frozen bananas & strawberries covered in lilikoi butter is so refreshing. Even the sweet crunch of granola is a fun change in texture. This is also my first time having chia seed pudding with açaí & I like the combination. All together it just looks like an edible piece of art. I also got to try their grilled cheese by default. My guy ordered it not reading the ingredients. He may not be a cream cheese fan. If you're looking for an authentic Acai bowl place in Maui, most places you go, you're going to end up eating a fruit bowl. What makes island vibes stand out, is its All Acai and imported from Brasil. The ambiance is super fun. They have gluten free options, their breakfast burritos are Ono!! And seriously, BEST ACAI ever! Not one place you will go, it's either sherbet or a bunch of frozen fruit, this place is legit! Aside from their own merch, retail goods such as t-shirts & purses (made in Indonesia!) were on display for purchase. The toppings in my build-your-own açaí bowl ($11) -- strawberries, banana, shredded coconut (+$1 each), & likikoi butter (+$2) as the crown jewel -- were generously piled on. While the açaí was not as flavorful as I'm used to, it also was not as sweet, giving it a breakfast quality rather than a dessert feel which I appreciated so early in the morning. I shared a Cali Style Breakfast Burrito ($14) & half was more than sufficient. Highly recommend this spot! The breakfast items are so much better than gazebo next door. If you are going to get takeout from gazebo might as well eat here instead (since you aren't getting the views anyways). The breakfast burrito, the croissants, the açaí bowls and the lattes are amazing. They also have small but cute selection of hoodies and tees etc and I got one for my 1 year old. Highly recommend.
