Chris Stenerson was an outstanding technician and went above and beyond what you would ever expect…read more Being new to the Portland area there is always a bit of skepticism on who you should employ- so thank you yelpers for introducing us to this company. Our freezer was melting due to a malfunction in one of the parts. Chris was fast, efficient, and good company! Not to mention the price was spot on. After offering tips to prevent this issue happening again he even gave us the broken piece and a detailed report in case the landlord docked it from our deposit. Highly recommend Chris and this company! Thanks again!

I write this with regret as we always try to support a local business over the big box companies…read more After a week of interaction I would avoid this company. Lot of good talk but that's all. We scheduled their service guy well in advance but got no notice until the last minute when he was at the wrong address and upset. We stopped at their location in Newberg and gave them photo of the washer info 5 days prior. The service tech (Wendell) showed up with preconceived idea of what was wrong despite even the error code on the machine. Did little to no investigation except saying the machine was over 5 years old, we needed to "junk" it, and to go their shop and buy a new Speed Queen. Totally torched any other product including our Maytag (which they sell). He did no investigative work and walked out. My step son looked on the internet and found the exact problem...unplug and let it re-set. Its now been 2 days since and numerous loads (after a week without a washer) with it working fine. Wendy (the Owner) called my wife today and admitted that their service guy "lacks communication skills". We also have a email from their sales person saying the same thing. It appeared to us he only wanted a show up fee and to sell us a new machine. And they marked us as "out of the area" on the service call even though we are only 2 miles from their business. I hate putting down a local business but I'd avoid this company even if it means going to the big box companies.

I'd used AA before for a microwave repair that went well, so when my $2300 cooktop failed after…read moreonly 7 years I called them again. Despite the fact that the cooktop was from a well-regarded German company, it was dead and the company no longer makes parts. Luckily, the repairman understood exactly what happened (power bumped after an outage and blew the cooktop. Don't forget to turn off all your appliance breakers when there's an outage!) Luckily, he knew how to fix the problem and could make his own parts. It wasn't cheap, but it was waaaaaay cheaper than buying a new cooktop. The last 5 repair companies I've contacted have charged me a hefty service charge to tell me they can't fix my appliance. I will never hire any other company than AA.

Our fridge decided to stop working the day before New Year's Eve--right when we needed it most…read more Turns out, we'd cycled the wrong breaker while installing new smoke detectors. We tried a bunch of places and no one could come until Friday at the earliest (it was a Monday). We called AA Appliance Repair around 1:30 PM, and Abdul was here by 3 PM. He quickly figured out the issue, got everything back up and running, and even showed me how to reset the fridge for the future. Total cost was $180. May seem a little steep for just a reset but for us... it was completely reasonable for the speed and service. Abdul saved the day and taught me a thing or two about my fridge. He waited to make sure the fridge continued working, took temps and was in his way as quickly as he showed up. If you need appliance repairs, don't hesitate to give them a call.
